Hmm... I actually thought Elizabeth was pretty faithful to Will. In COTBP, she was flirting with Jack and feeding him more rum, so he would pass out, and she would be free to burn all the rum. You could tell in that scene due to the sly glances that she was neither drunk nor interested in him, just playing along.
In DMC, she wanted more than anything to find Will. She was probably aware of the fact that Jack may be susceptible to her feminine charms, and again was stringing him along. Admittedly, the compass scene was a little bit disconcerting but immediately after that she was in Will's arms and seemed genuinely happy. The kiss was almost her way of saying sorry (as well as the means to chain him to the ship). If she had loved him would she have sacraficed him? She loved Will and she could not shoot the barrels of powder when Will was tangled up in the net.
So in my humble opinion, Elizabeth and Jack would never, ever have happened. It's like Arwen and Aragorn. We have seen some wonderful scenes with those two, and we have seen how they truly love each other.... but Aragorn leaves Arwen for Eowyn. Ain't going to happen. Same with Will and Elizabeth. The writers have given us a romance..... but then they either a) have the female go off with the man she was engaged to but didn't really love or b) have the female go off with a Pirate, someone who is not reliable and who would not care for her...... or of course there is option c) that the male decides to head off with Tia Dalma. Disney wants these films to make money. Screwing up the romance between two popular actors and characters..... ??
And as for Norrington. I think he knew he would never have Elizabeth, and being the honourable man he is would he want Elizabeth is she was waiting for Will? I don't think so. Elizabeth doesn't love Norrington so why she would go back to him I don't know. Considering as she had already married Will, I don't think that is possible either. She probably loved the monkey more than Norrington.

JF, Well I supose that it just seemed to me that she liked to um jump around with who she was going to be with, you know? First she was boarderline flirting with Will, then she accepted Norrington's perposal (even though it was actauly to get him to save Will...pretty cold hearted to Norrginton...), then kissed Jack flirted with him the compass said that he was what she wanted most in the world at certain moments at the very least, kissed Will, and then had him believing that she no longer wanted to be with him, and there was certainly basis really for all of those couples in my opinion. So it could have ended anyway and I would have believed it. Hmm...I also think that she is devious, cold hearted, and selfish to a whole new level. So that is one character that will not be getting many brownie or sympathy points from me.
The difference that I see between Arwen/Aragorn/Eowyn and Jack/Elizabeth/Will is that Elizabeth did truely feel attracted to Jack where as Aragorn never had any feelings (other than friendship for Eowyn) or otherwise he did not let on about it. Where there is attraction there is always a chance for true coupling in my opinion. I would not have liked Sparrowbeth ending up together but I think that they could have, especialy since that ship gained so many fans in the recent months. Perhaps not here but elsewhere online...they are neck and neck when it cmes to number of fans. One of the guys running off to be with Tia? Hmmm....that would have been interesting. Personaly speaking though I still wanted her to turn out to be Will's mother...maybe I should incorperate that into my latest fanfiction...hmmm
The monkey? Oh, my...are you joking? No really...I can not tell...uh if you are not then I disagree. No offence meant. I think that she did love Norrington just not in the way that he needed to be loved. She loved him as a friend maybe even as if he were family but not as a lover. She did not want him to die. In my opinion she proved that in At World's end when she was desperately trying to get back aboard the Flying Dutchman (right before Norrington cut the rope) and also when she was trying to convince him to go with her.
No. Norrington would have not wanted Elizabeth if he had no claim to her heart. However Elizabeth knows how to play people and if she could make Norrington beleive that she loved him instead of Will...the question in my opinion is whether Norrington would beleive Elizabeth. Yes Norrington is brilliant but at the same time a bit of a fool for love.
Oh, and by the way I love your new signature set.

JF, Oh...okay. Sorry. Well I am glad that it was sarcasm. Elizabeth loving the moneky more would have been very...strange. lol
Yes she reminds me of Kate from Lost too in a lot ways. I think that I like Kate better though. She has not got Jack or Sawyer killed yet unlike Elziabeth who killed Jack and Kate has a worse past. As far as personality goes though...they do have alot in common. Elizabeth also reminds me of a character named Tammy from one of the soap operas that I watch (Guiding Light). They both commeted murder, lead guys on, felt attracted to a bad boy and a goody two shoes. The main difference though was that instead of throwing the goody two shoes off of a cliff and having the girl end up with the bad boy in Pirates of the Caribbean Elizabeth married Will and the bad boy got a happy ending of his own. lol Now you can see why I was so worried over the possability of a Sparrowbeth ending.
Yep she will. I mean she even killed a man. There was nothing that she was incapable of. She was extremely dangerous.
You are welcome.

JF - Would you please share the ending you made up? I wasn't completely satisfied with this one either, so I'd love to hear yours! Phew. I was beginning to think we were the only ones around here at the moment. Thank you.
Whoo.. just found this again on page 165.... Johnny's Fan wrote: My ending is one of two things.
Will doesn't get stabbed. Norrington didn't die. He went with Lizzie to help them. Norrie is fighting Davy Jones and he get's stabbed and is dying. Lizzie, feeling guilty for being angry at him, and sorry for him, snatches the heart from Jack so Norrie stabs it instead. Norrie is redeemed, and he is happy to do the task he is given as it means that is he still a man of the sea, and he is doing something worth while. Jack is a bit upset at losing his chance for immortality and he sets about after the Fountain of Youth. Lizzie and Will are with Barbossa on the Black Pearl - we are unsure whether they too are going to search for the Founatin with Barbossa or are just hitching a lift home. Will is happy because his dad his technically free, and he is under the command of a good man. Will and Elizabeth look at each other as they sail away, and we know they are going to be all right.
My other ending is pretty similar, expect Norrington doesn't get injured in the battle with Jones, it is Bootstrap. Jack does the right thing and actually offers the heart to Will. The same thing happens with the ending. But Norrington stays with the remains of the Navy men, and we presume he will go back to join the Navy, now he has redeemed himself, and the Navy is once again Beckett-free.
That, officially, is amazing. I am going to just go around believing that [#2] is the ending now! Yay for JF!!
DD & JF - Now that you mention it, Elizabeth does actually seem like Kate. Except I think that it is definitely more obvious who Elizabeth loves, but after the Lost season finale, Kate is a mystery...unfortunately

What? Am i missing something... i thought it was Aragorn and Arwen that got married... not Aragorn and Eowyn... or am i totally screwed up?
And anyways, the best ending ever would have to be when Davy and Calypso get together...

Hehe... I was saying that to me, Elizabeth going off with Jack or Norrington in AWE was like Aragorn going off with Eowyn in ROTK. Aragorn loved Arwen so he wasn't going off with anyone else... just like Elizabeth loved Will.... she wasn't going with anyone else.... stringing them along to get what she wanted... maybe.... but not truly leaving Will.

Ok, thats good, i was like, freaking out because i thought that i had been mislead about ho Aragron married. of course, Aragorn didn't go to the extent that Liz did with Jack... Aragorn wasn't eating her face, nor locking her to a ship to be eaten by the Kraken...
