Lee looked over the side and also noticed the flag. He looked over at Jack, and whispered,
"'hat's Sparrow's jolly roger, 'hat is." He rolled his eyes. "'hat man is a genius."

Gibbs stared in pro... profound... prodigious! dismay as Jack tossed the empty bottle overboard. There went his sole source of entertainment for the next five hours. He supposed he could always listen to Jack sing, but that wasn't exactly his idea of having a jolly ol' time. In fact, neither was being stuck in a dinghy with the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow. Ah well. The winds blow as the winds will, as his internal optimist liked to put it. He plopped back down and contented himself with staring moodily into the horizon.
Wait a minute...
"Mother's love," he muttered. "Jack! I told ye there was a ship on the horizon!" And there, bobbing on the horizon, as substantial as the sunburn on his back, was the ship he'd been staring at all along. Ship... land... small difference, eh?
He grabbed his spyglass and raised it to his eye. Rather large ship, now that he got a close-up. The shoddy lens didn't offer much, but if he squinted just enough, he could make out a darkish hull and black... "Mother's love," he breathed again. "It's the Pearl."

"First land, now ships!" Jack blurted and raised his arms.
"Busy day for ye Mr. Gibbs. . ." Jack swiped the spyglass from Joshamee's hands and peered through the telescope himself.
"Well, now, fancy that. . ." Jack lowered the spyglass and flashed a grin, "She's come back for me-" Suddenly Jack froze. It was no longer his crew coming to his rescue, most likely Barbossa coming for the charts, and of course Jack's death.
Jack bent down and moved the dinghy's rudder towards the direction of the miniature black speck on the horizon. "Mister Gibbs, keep the boat steady! We make to the Pearl."
Jack then noticed the expression of confusion and disbelief on Gibbs' face. Recognizing that face, Jack, whole heartily replied, "Aye, if they don't shoot us first. Chance you take, savvy?"

"Aye, daft," Gibbs muttered under his breath. He stole a surreptitious glance over his shoulder, just to be rightly certain that his captain hadn't heard. One couldn't be too careful around Jack, after all. He none too happily picked up the oars and began rowing while his captain... ah... enjoyed the ride. His sigh of resignation came all the way from his sore arms.
He found his optimism dashed as soon as they drew nearer to the familiar ship. A squint into the horizon told him that Barbossa and the crew had, indeed, already spotted the dinghy. Tough luck. Perhaps if he tossed Sparrow overboard... He shook the thought off. A mutiny on the two-man dinghy would certainly make his future life on the Pearl easier. Still... Jack...?
Perhaps later... if Jack ever threw his rum bottle - empty or not - over the side ever again...
"And what do ye plan to do once we're aboard, cap'n?" he asked testily, though his face was all innocence. "Knowin' the... ah... temporary captain of yer ship. Ye can't be countin' on him t'welcome ye back with open arms."

Lee looked up at Barbossa, waiting for him to do something. "Well, are we going to let Sparrow board or not?" He asked quietly as Pintel came up behind him.
"What do ye think Jack will do to us?" He whispered to Jake and Lee. Lee looked at him, weird-eyed.
"Why 'ould he do 'nything to us, eh?" He asked. "We did to 'im, what pirates do. It's natural."

The whole time, Cotton was at the wheel, his parrot on his shoulder. The parrot suddenly gave a high screech, and flew over to the gathered crew members(Lee, Jake, ect.).

The parrot scwacked again, and reached out to gently bite Lee's finger.
"Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me," he sang, shuffling from side to side. Then flapped his wings, ruffling his feathers...

As it bit Lee's finger (as he hoped it would), he pulled it up and let it sit on his shoulder. "Ah, now 'here's a nice view, eh?"
