"Just do it. Unless-" Hayden paused and felt his mouth move into a faint smirk and then he continued, "Unless you're afraid to do so."

"Well... that was the first lounge, as you know," Yumeko began, "And that room opposite us is the library. Often used for writing homework."
She peered through the glass of the library door and grinned as she saw Raye sleeping in the armchair.

"Going onwards - this is the kitchen," she carried on, opening the kitchen door and was about to switch on the light but paused, she saw a faint light nearby from down the stairs from the main hall behind her - it was Estelle but she couldn't quite make out who it was herself, "Hello?"

"I have nothing to be afraid of," Takeshi smirked back and glanced around the room, "Do you have anywhere to sit? I need you to get comfortable."

He took a fullfilling breath and for the brief gap of time between his last spoken words and Hayden's reply, he attempted to empty his mind and partially divide his astral body from his physical state.

Mai sat up straighter after a few moments of silence and noticed as Yumeko poked her head around the door, grinning at the sleeping Raye before disappearing again.

Reaching for her book, Mai glanced at Lyn, "I'm going to read for a bit, if that's ok with you." She smiled slightly and bowed her head a little to her book.

Lyn smiled back at Mai "Sure...I wanted to read something by myself now..." She went over to the bookshelf and pulled out a crime story, Agathe Christie. She sat down on the sofa again and began reading too.

After reading for a while Mai put down her book again and stretched slightly, yawning like a cat. She must have been downstairs for a good while and Raye had been dozing for most of that time, she shuffled towards him, gently rubbing his back to wake him. It wasn't good to be sleeping in such a position and if he slept for too long he wouldn't sleep when he went back to bed. "Raye?" Mai whispered, tilting her head to look at him as he woke, careful not to startle him.

Raye rigidly glanced up at Mai, he felt rather stiff so he stretched out his legs and yawned heavily, "Sorry - didn't mean to sleep... what's the time?", he mumbled with vague awareness.

"Um...good question." Mai replied lightly, glancing around to look at the clock on the fireplace. "Eleven o'clock." She said and then added with a smile, "Everyone seems to be nocturnal tonight, loads of people are up and wandering about."

"Maybe they-", Raye hesitated and shook his head, "Forget it. And thanks... I should go back to bed, eventually," he smiled lightly, brushing his finger under his eye gently to remove sleep.
Maybe they can sense that something is coming... but perhaps it's just my own paranoia, he grimly thought to himself, that's why he couldn't sleep, along with the fact that the dart was missing.

"Hmm, I guess I will too at somepoint." Mai said nonchalantly. The rain pounded on the tall windows, splattering heavy drops on to the smooth glass. "Urgh, weather like that is enough to make anyone want to snuggle under a duvet." Mai muttered and then looked at Raye, "Nice little sleep?" She asked with a smile.

She turned her attention away from the mysterious glowing from the distance and spoke, "I came here when I was about 14... or 15, somewhere around then," Yumeko replied, thinking back did hurt - not totally agonizing but there was a pain within. When she thought back to her original home, memories of those distressing nights lingered there like an immobilising sore, "So two years."




"Pretty much," Raye answered with a smirk but hesitated for a moment and the smirk faded dismally, he turned his glance towards Lyn reading as he carried on, "I need to talk to Takeshi. I suspect he's upstairs - I'll see you later, perhaps in the morning if not later on tonight."

He exited the room silently and shut the door firmly, passing Yumeko and Asha but remained quiet.

"Oh," said Asha, senceing a little pain in Yumeko voice. She hoped she hadn't caused any flashbacks on bad memories.

Lyn saw the words before her eyes getting harder to read as she began drifting away into sleep. In her half-sleep she could make out Raye leaving the room. She leaned against the armrest of the sofa and closed her eyes, drifting away in a surprisingly dreamless sleep.

Yumeko smiled faintly, "HYENA has offered me a better life... I owe them so much," she sighed as Raye passed them both, "I owe them so much more than just words of gratitude."
