I've stumbled across a few British terms that have me absolutely foiled. Does anyone know what they might mean? (My dad's been here too long to know what they meant.)
-Tiffin
-Clothears
-Dandy

There were a couple of other ones but I can't recall them right now. Anyone know what these mean?

tiffin = a light meal during the day
cloth ears = something you call someone who hasn't been listening
dandy = a man who is interested in physical appearance above all else

Hey, I'm the ladybug, give it back!

But dandy can be used with 'fine and dandy' too.

Ah right, problem solved then.

:welcome: to the British Society, fellow Brit. No doubt dearest JF will add you to the list in due course. Have a look at the phrases people have chosen and pick your own.

"Oh daling, we must do lunch!"

That's mine.

And I'm still EB on the list. Oh, how times change, that was a long time ago... *reminisces*

But a good one nonetheless, I often have Tiffin at many points in the day. I'm very Hobbit-ish with my eating habits.....Yet I do not have the belly of a Hobbit!!

Tiffin means to have sex. Watch 'Carry on up the Kyber' that should explain it nicely.

Tis horrible. I'v got heat rash....on the same spot that my rash from being alergic to nettals has come up....grrrrrrrr.
Also i can't take the heat...orange hair and all. I'm really worrid about the summer, its going to be like an industrial oven.
