Goldie stepped away from the dance for a moment. Whew! Shire summers sure were warm. Spotting the glassy, unmoving waters of the swimming hole, Goldie broke into a smile. She ran towards the pool and jumped in, sundress and all. Whew! Hopefully the summer sun would dry it off quickly. In the meantime...Goldie happily began to swim around, glad for the chance to cool off.

The gang walked over to the swimming hole. Hobbits were just starting to pile in from the hot summer day.

"Wow," Prisca spoke to herself, "It is already this late."
"Yes," Pippin took the place to intercede, "We were going to wake you up if you hadn't done so herself."
"Consider yourself lucky," Merry laughed.
"Or not so lucky tommorrow," Pippin continued, "We will surely not wait as long as we did today, seeing how late you sleep."
Frodo shook his head and smiled at the interogatting Merry and Pippin were doing to Prisca. Sam was looking around, trying to keep them all out of trouble, which he knew he would soon enough fail at.

Walking by the water, Pippin was the first to be pushed in. Once Pippin was in, Prisca chased after Merry to shove him in herself. Frodo and Sam jumped in, not wanting to be too horribly part of the hassle.

Prisca had been chasing Merry for the next few minute, but, in the end, Merry came up with the uppper hand. He had managed to place Prisca in between the water and himself. Pippin, then, came up behind, and, with joint effort, Prisca fell in (luckily not right on top of Pippin).

Whew! It sure was hot. Seeing the hobbits playing in the water, Goldie snuck up on them and landed a huge cannonball. As water sprayed everywhere, Goldie relished the cool feeling of the water, glad to get a break from the hot afternoon.

They had all started a game of Bilbo Baggins. Sam was it and continuously yelling Bilbo throughout the game. Many Bagginses were also being yelled simultaneously, scattered around the swimming area.

When a big splash can in, Sam traveled towards that and tagged the person. "You're it," Sam said before opening his eyes and shockingly asking, "Goldie?"

"Hey, that's not fair!" said Goldie, confused. "What am I it for?"

"Bilbo Baggins!" Yelled Pippin from across the pond. "And you have to be it!"

"Fine, " Goldie said with a smile, closing her eyes and darting in Pip's direction. "Bilbo!..."

Sam scurried off to the other side of the pond, as did Pippin. "Baggins!" came the voices, in turn. Prisca swam up to Frodo and pointed at the sky. "It's getting late," she told him, "Do you think.."

Merry had waltzed over there and splashed both of them, and the next thing Frodo and Prisca knew was that Goldie was coming their way. Swimming away, Prisca followed Frodo, in wait for an answer. "We will," Frodo responded when they both arrived a sure distance away from Goldie, "get them soon enough. We need cover of nightfall."

"Aha!" Goldie reached out and felt someone else's foot before they could get away. She popped up and opened her eyes. "Merry! You're it!"

"We might have to continue the game later," Frodo cautioned, looking at the sky. "It's getting dark."

"Ha!" Merry was the first one out of the water. Goldie couldn't tell if he was more excited that he didn't have to be it or that the time for fireworks was drawing close. Probably the latter.

Everyone began to climb out of the pond, drying off in their fashion and waiting for the next plan.

Prisca dried off and looked around the group. When glancing at Merry, Prisca saw his casually nod and then continue to nod to everyone else in the group. We all knew what that nod meant: time to go, except maybe Goldie.

"Alright," Frodo said, "This way."
Everyone followed Frodo, and Prisca fell a little behind to Goldie. "Are you going to join us?" she asked.

"Of course!" Goldie said, catching on to the nod. She hadn't really noticed it before, but now that she got the message, she ran ahead. "I'm not going to miss this!"

Sam turned to Goldie, "You can have both of mine. If I don't have to get involved, I won't."

"Oh, come on Sam," Frodo reassured him, "It will be fun." Casually nods and yes's came from Merry, Pippin, and Priscula.

"No," Sam continued insisting, "Goldie will have mine and that's final."

"Alright," Merry consented, "But you'll miss out."

"Still come with us, please," Priscula asked. Sam sighed and reluctantly followed the group all of the way to Bag End. Everyone, except Sam, grabbed to fireworks and headed down to the gardens.

Drew and Will walked towards the swimming hole, now dress in their burgundy colored swim attire. They waved at everyone there, though it seemed that most were about to head elsewhere. Drew looked down at the water caustiously and said, "Isn't it a bit early for a swim, Love". Will answer by picking her up and jumping into the water. Drew screamed but then calmed down. She sighed and sternly said, "It is so deep...William Turner you had best not let me drown." Will replied with, "I will not let you drown, I promise." At that Drew relaxed and began to swim around a bit.

Myrtle and Haldir made their way down to the swimming hole. One thing Haldir really liked was to swim. He dove into the water and swam around. Myrtle sat down on the grassy edge and placed her feet into the water. She smiled as she watched her husband swim. She was glad that there was something that he enjoyed.

Drew swam around. When Myrtle and Haldir xame over to the water Will and Drew waved at them. Will swam over to where Haldir was. "Swim over here, Drew" Will called. He was trying to help teach Drew to hot to become a stronger swimmer. If anyone could teach her it was probabley him. He might be a bad dancer but he could swim like a fish. Drew swam over to where Will and Haldir where. "Do you want to join us, Myrtle?" Drew asked.

Myrtle looked over at the three and then down at the water. She was not sure how deep the water was nor was she very fond of deep water. Haldir swam over to the edge of the swimming hole. He knew his wife was not the best of swimmers. He reached out a hand towards her to help in the water. She hesitated for a moment then grabbed Haldir's hand and took a step into the water. She nearly shrieked when she took a sudden drop realizing that there was no bottom beneath her, but Haldir quickly caught her in his arms. "Just hold onto me alright." Myrtle nodded lightly and held onto his shoulder as he swam back into the center of the swimming hole.

Will and Drew smiled as Myrtle joined them in the water. Will swam closer to Drew and gently put his arms around Drew. "We have to protect our non swimming women, don't we Mr. Haldir?" Will said. Drew spun around to face Will. At first he was afraid that she might have been offended by his comment. However Drew's smile banished the idea from Will's mind.
