Hathru nodded. "I understand." he said. "My parents always tried to hammer out my informal speech. They would be sad to find it did not work." He smiled again.
He stood up as she did. "Would you care for some company?" he asked.

Deawen nodded in agreement " ever since the war ended I have had no desire to fight, theres no reason to, no one to fight unless you decide to go to war with one's neighbor " she said grimly, in fact she wore no weapon that could be seen." She poured some wine into two goblets from a cask that sat on the railing next to her handing one to Elegost She walked causualy over to a chair just across from Elegost she sat down and as gracefuly as a cat brought both feet into the chair tucking one leg under sideways and the other bent at the knee where she rested her hand that held her goblet. she still had the feline look about her small and lean as ever. " tell me how long have you been here in Rivendell?" she asked taking a sip of her wine.

Halana was just riding back into the city. she had deiced to take a morning ride, just outside the city.
her slightly curly long blonde hair was a little tossled but it still looked pretty. she set her horse up in the stables before going to find one of her few friends,Tahlavain. she thought of the first place she might be. up in the book room. she started up the stairs and almost bumped into her as she came down them. " oh..well there you are." she said smiling.

"I would not mind the company, Milord Hathru, if you desire to accompany me," Tahlavain responded lightly as she stepped into the warm sunshine, beginning to descend the stairs. Barely had she gone a few steps when she nearly collided with a familiar figure.
"Halana!" Tahlavain exclaimed cheerily while she observed the slightly tousled appearance of the other's hair. "You have been riding, I see? Did you have a good time, mellon nin? I was just heading to practice with my archery."

As the sun grew higher, Morwen headed back to the city. It was getting towards noon, and she was rather hungry. As she headed to her rooms, she saw her friend Deawen talking to somebody. She climbed the stairs to her bedroom and hung her sword and sheath on a peg and changed from her coarse brown dress into a lovely green dress that she had worn when she was a handmaiden. She went back outside and decided to give Deawen a visit. She walked to where she was staying and called, "Min freond, ic cuman fore a ceallian!*"
(*My friend, I come for a call!)

"þaencas," said Morwen sitting next to Deawen. She smiled and turned to the stranger who Deawen was talking to. "I am Morwen of the Westfold."

"Yes, well...use keeps blades the sharpest, as I always say," Morwen anwered. She took a cup and poured herself some wine. "So how have you been keeping yourself busy today, Deawen?"
(BTW, how do I repeat the extra post I accidentally put up?)

Tahlavain laughed gently at Halana's excitement and eager manners before responding with a nod. "Alright then, I shall take a few moments with my archery and then I shall join you at the gates! I shall have to change, though, from this dreaded dress..."
With that, she hurried her pace down the stone-set stairs, navigating her way through the many intricate corridors and archways to where her room was set at the top of another lengthy flight of stairs. A glance to her left revealed the sight of three strangers on one of several balconies, her curiosity bringing her to a standstill so that she may longer observe them; Two women and someone who might have seemed familiar but she knew she recognized him as a Dûnedain.
Not wanting to seem overly rude, Tahlavain hurriedly pulled the gaze of her bright eyes away. Making haste, she changed from the "bothersome dress" as she would often call them, into the clothes that seemed more natural to her. She now wore a pair of supple brown doe-skin breeches with light weight knee high boots. Across her shoulders was much the same as the black cloak but now a deep green, adorned with silver embroidered edges, while beneath she wore a grey tunic and a vest of dull green.
Doning her sword and belt and shouldering her quiver, she took up her fine lined bow and made her way to the balcony and down the many stairs. Again she cast a glance to the strangers above and now to her right, her curiosity still unquenched.

Tahlavain's ebony hair was still left tied in elf fashion, though a few strands had slipped over her forehead. She had already strung her bow as she reached the archery range, her eyes keenly focused upon a target thirty paces before her as she set her stance properly.
Such was her focus on the practice, that she noticed nothing around her, and saw not that one of the strangers had wandered closer. She would normally have been more alert to her surroundings, yet there was nothing to be feared in fair Imladris during these peaceful years.
With smooth, deliberate movements, she placed an arrow upon the string and drew back according to the distance, a slight smile crossing her features as she lined her sight with the bow and target. Releasing the string, she held her stance until the arrow hit true on the target.
Tahlavain's smile grew into a grin for a brief moment as she lowered her bow, making ready to set a second arrow upon the string.

"Ic beon arweorðe, min freond Deawen. Mid þam hwærac?*" Morwen asked. "Mid herepad oþþe forþolian? Ond bordes?**" She was a bit tired after exercising this morning, but that wouldn't matter. Deawen always won, anyway.
(*I be honoured, my friend Deawen. When and where?
**To do with armour or to do without? And shields?)
