Now Gwen, what's wrong with gangsta? Stereo typing a little there, aren't we?

I'm merely contrasting the two: Mr. Darcy, as a gentleman, is the opposite of a "gangsta" personality. I didn't mean it sound offending, [or that there was anything wrong with it] but I can see why it did. The two personality types are just completely different.
LOL JF, that works! Mmm, yes, a dark side with strength. And yet, dark isn't the right word...that's why I like dangerous. And righteous. Righteous anger! That's it. Hehe.

(um, I've been mistaken for a goth before... and believe or not, I'm actually anything but terrribly pessimistic)
From a non-single girl's view - for that's what I am, lol - I'd just say that never picture an ideal man/woman for yourself.. you'll end up with someone completely different and you'll be the happiest person on the earth.
(if this made any sense at all :/)

Oh no, of course there's much more to that! I have a friend who has this long list in her journal...all the qualities she wants in a husband.
Antigone, I do agree with you in a sense. I think it can be unhealthy to have a specific mold for the man/woman you want to marry, because no one will ever fit that mold perfectly. Everyone has faults. Like with me, I know I can become irritable easily with the people I love most. And I worry a lot. But I think it's also unhealthy to put it out of your mind completely. In my opinion, one should have high standards, just so they are not so quick to dive into a relationship that may not even work out. But I know God has someone planned for me, so I don't have to worry.

[@ Elfe: Oo, didn't mean to offend there dearie. I didn't mean in a bad way in the first place. ]
But I get what your saying. How would anyone be able to marry if we all had set "molds" that our partner had to fit into? It just wouldn't work. No one is perfect as Gwen said. It's just nice to think of main traits/characteristics you'd like to see in your potential life partner. It helps you to set a standard.

well...i aaaactually.... i always kind of thought like you guys before i got together with my current boyfriend....but something made me think otherwise.... let me just say this as a story: how i knew he was the one
(i think i've mentioned this before....im not sure) okay so its period one, english... first thing we do is take out our journal and write down the journal entry which is : write ten things you would value the most in your partner. After writing the entry we had to present the journal entry, and all the girls are going nuts, the perfect guy has this, the perfect guy has that.... the teacher says how unreal these perfect men seem, i feel she is wrong, and look over my list i raise my hand, and lower it again.... and i say to myself " i know this guy..!!" a couple of weeks later we got together.... seems strange, because i would have deemed this impossible in the past....but now i can't say what i would have said.... so its okay to hope but be open to other options...

I know the sorts of things I'd look for in a girl. The slightly ironic thing is that the girl I currently 'like' fits very few of those charactistics, and I think she is wonderful But that just goes to show I suppose, you might be suprised by what you like

It is funny how that tends to happen.
But I think people confuse the term 'opposite' with 'complementary'. That's what I really want, someone who complements me with their good traits and their flaws. That means a couple might be opposite in some ways, or just very different in others. But they'll still be similar in other parts.

Oo, that's a fantabulous word Rin. I like it loads better than 'opposite'. Opposites just seem too different, whilst the word 'complementary' reminds me of puzzle pieces that fit together.
Aww Darrell. I know that feeling. It's funny the way that works out, as Rin said.

That's exactly what I think of, too! Puzzle pieces. So you can't have someone perfect...but you can have a 'perfect match'. Or a complementary one.

Lol, don't worry. Tis quite impossible to offend me =)
A perfect match, yay! I love using this expression, people just stare at me weirdly .. comes from their un-knowledge of English

Hey, Mornie, just ebcause you are currently in the PERFECT relationship with a seemingly very complementaryed Christian-named boy match....doesnt mean you have to rub it in.
I have this whole idea that I won't ever get married or get into a relationship unless something wonderfully Austen or Bronte-like happens to me. :]
