Once Simbelmynë closed the door to the room behind her, she immediately went in search of her parents. She found them in their bedroom. She sat them down and explained what had happened, and that she wanted to leave with Alithia and Arey. Athelas and Simbelmynë listened carefully to what their daughter was saying. They knew that Simbelmynë had always wanted to explore the lands that lay beyond their own. They also knew that, should they refuse to allow her to go, that she would stay, but would not be happy about it, making life miserable for them all.

Athelas sighed. "Simbelmynë...we know of longing to explore Middle-earth, but we cannot help but worry. Where will you go? Where will you stay? What will you do if you end up on your own?" Athelas looked away from her daughter. "Will you survive..."

At the look of alarm on his daughter's face, Gléowine attempted to comfort her. "Simbelmynë, you have to accept that we will worry about you. You are our child. You always will be, and we will always be your parents. We will always worry. But...we also know that you are quite capable of taking care of yourself." Gléowine sighed. "For this reason, you can go."

Simbelmynë smiled. She thanked her parents profusely, hugged them tightly, then returned to the room where Alithia and Arey were.

"My parents have given their consent for me to leave with you," she said.
