I only got to see it yesterday, but I missed bits of it inbetween entertaining my daughter and trying to make food XD.
So I watched it again today and I have to say that was if not thee best episode I've seen yet. Words cannot explain how much I adore John Simm as The Master. He is an absolute joy to watch in every scene.

Laser Screwdriver!!

Oh...my Gods. Gallifrey was more beautiful than I ever imagined.

Everything about this episode rocked in the hardest manner possible.

So cannot wait for next week.

yay! i'm glad i'm not alone on either point. i love it too - i think it may well be my favourite disney film.

Nah... Nothing beats Pochahontas! Or Winnie the Pooh! I've always throught the Doctor was really badly like Tony Hill of Wire in the Blood, he's incredibly ditzy and spends half his time completley out of it, but he's incredibly clever and has his dark mysterious moments too.

Really important news update I've just discoverered! The glorious James Marsters (Spike from Buffy) is gonna be guest staring in series 2 of Torchwood! Could they honestly cram anymore hotness into that show?

I LOVE YOUR ICON, PHEONIX!!! :boing:

Seriously. Awesomeness. Doctor Who Moment. Captured. Perfectly. Brilliant. :notworthy:

I think I forgot to mention that moment in my mini-review, but it was classic Master. Loved it! :-D

Oh yeah, that was a hilarious moment in Doctor Who. Sorry have I mentioned how much I like the Simms Master? He's incredible. He's almost like the Doctor, almost exactly the Doctor except slightly more diabolical. But he's fabulous.

Thanks for the kind words about my Icon. The screencaps I found were screaming out for it. It's nothing special, but it makes me smile.

Wow, what a response to everyone loving my novels.
*is shocked and somewhat bewildered at such...strangeness of fellow Who fans*

XD

Okay...no novel right now. *gasp* CRAZINESS! But trust me, I will be back later tonight to...have a fangirl fest. I'm currently at work right now...sneeking...XD...don't have much time.

All I have to say for now is:
*SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:swoon: :bounce: :swoon:

EDIT:
*POOF*

BADABOOMBA!!! I'm BACK. XD
Okay...I'm going to cheat a bit on my novel...but you guys all wrote so much beautiful stuff that I just HAVE to quote. ;)
But FIRST, my little schpiel (sp?) about this absolutely unbelievably freaking amazingly hot episode!
Yeah, okay...that pretty much just summed it up.
It was just SO well done. GAH. The Master was just so ridiculously superb, I can't really describe it. Can he BE more perfect?! GAH. I love the classic Master...and Simss just somehow gets it. XD Fits it perfectly. GAH! I think I'm in love. :swoon:
I just loved how cheeky the Master was a Prime Minister.
"The Prime Minister?! .... The Prime Minister and his WIFE?!!!"
XD
Let's see...
Celebwen wrote:
Ah! The suspense is killing me!! Can't wait til next weeks episode.
I HEART THE MASTER!! I also HEART finding out more about the time war and Gallifrey, especially with the visuals this week. Quite a treat to get to see gallifrey and the mini-master.

And the bit where we found out more about how and why The Doctor and The Master got their names. Finally, after decades of Dr Who, they decide to think up a reason. :)

I wonder what will become of the master, at the end of next episode. If he'll acquire a TARDIS, or die, or what...

The suspense is killing me too!! ACK! Especially since I haven't seen a preview for it. EEEEK! XD OH well, I'll survive that bit. :P I'm with you 100% of the way on LOOOOVING the Master. :swoon: And now that you've brought it up...I'm really curious about the drums too. AND I too liked finding a bit more out the names the Master and the Doctor. And I loved that instead of killing the Master, because that's so Torchwood (XD), that he wanted to help him. *SQUEE*

ethelfleda wrote:
i loved last night's episode - i agree with celebwen, it was great finding out more about gallifrey; and i thought the master was great. and it makes a nice change to have a finale without daleks.

this bit was my favourite:
the doctor: it's like when you fancy someone and they don't know you exist.
jack looks at martha and notices the way she's looking at the doctor
jack: you too, huh?

i thought that was a lovely little moment.

I LOOOVED that bit too! It was just SO perfect. Gah, can't really explain it. Well, maybe it was just Jack. Mmm...Jack. Knows the Doctor oh so well. XD
I agree too! No finale with Daleks. As much as I love them, I'm glad they're not here. :P We've already had them.
ethelfleda wrote:
^ i think david tennant probably will stay on, because i doubt they'd have been able to keep his departure secret for so long, especially as the regeneration would presumably take place in the final episode on saturday. a shock regeneration would be quite nice though - it spoiled the end of series one a little bit, already knowing that christopher eccleston was leaving.

A shock regeneration would be pretty cool. I agree. But as Kess said, I've heard he's staying through til the 4th season. But who knows. How incredibly insane would that be if they've kept it a secret?! XD I'm not sure how I'd react. :P I love David so much...but it'd just be so cool. XD

Caunion the Doctor wrote:
Oh my god. I loved that episode. The music is fantastic, I really hope the soundtrack for that season comes soon. And Martha has risen up a bit in my eyes. And I loved the Master's insults to the American President. But honestly I really really really hope the Doctor doesn't have to regenerate. That'll mean my dearly beloved and handsome David Tennant would have to leave the show. Has there been any word about the next series and if David is staying? And his TARDIS! What will happen to it?
Sidenote: Seeing Gallifrey was really nice. I really wanted to know what his home planet would look like.

Hey, I liked the music too! And the insults! XD Dude...the Master :notworthy:
XD I can't really think of anything else to say about him except that he just plain ROCKS.
Can I also just say, Caunion and I have talked about how pissed the Doctor gets in certain episodes. Like Runaway Bride and Family of Blood. I honestly think...that's not pissed. That's just hot. XD Can I just say, that when Jack told him that he works for Torchwood...THAT was a pissed Doctor. THAT was a Doctor that you wouldn't want to get in the way of. THAT was scary Doctor. I don't even know if it was hot...it was more heartbreaking and scary at the same time.
I was SOO happy that they found the TARDIS...and then SOO depressed to see what had happened to it. *GASP* Honestly, I think I'd have a heart attack...and refuse watching the show if any harm came to the TARDIS.

Kess wrote:
I'm not too sure about further series. Acoording to the Sun, there's gonna be series 4, also with DT, and then it's gonna stop. But that is the Sun, so you gotta take everything with a pinch (or rather lorry full) of salt.
So.... The last episode... Only just got to watch it cos I was at a sleepover on Saturday and my friends are attempting (and failing) to descifigeek me. But yes ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT episode! Saxon was glorious, obviously, and he even has his own screwdriver thingy! Maybe the two screwdrivers could mate and have little screwdrivers! [/weirdpsychobrainwave] No Daleks were involved, which is good, and little floating knife ball things are way cooler. Gallifrey was incredibly prettiful, I wanna go on holiday there! Oo.. and the Doctor trying to help the Master cos he didn't want to be alone was really heartbreaking. So was Martha and Jack's comments that ethel picked up on.
Concernign the Basil the mouse comment, a) I positivley love that movie :P and b)yes, absolutley perfect :)
And MB, we love your novels to bits, really! I hope there is many more to come!
Ooooo.... Doctor who and copious amounts of coffee have made me very excitable today!

NEVER NEVER will you be de-geekified! That's horrible that they're trying to do that! *gasp*
LITTLE screwdrivers! XD XD XD I LOOOVED the laser screwdriver...even though Sonic is SO much cooler! :P
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOD!!! JAMES MARSTERS on TORCHWOOD!
*dies and goes to heaven*
OH MY GOD!
:swoon:
When I read that, I seriously FREAKED out. Like, seriously. :P OH my god.
Okay. Wow.

Oh, and I like the new sig set!! :D

YES! Simms is AMAZING! Hard rocking episode indeed!!!

Okay, I've been putting this off...but the mention and talk of Gallifrey just killed me. It brought me back to Gridlock. I was practically in tears. It was just SO beautiful and his way of describing it was beautiful. And then there was the wee little Master looking SO cool! XD
And Martha's remark, "Who is he?....Oh, I thought he was his your secret brother or something." XD XD XD
Wouldn't that be something?! XD Ha ha ha!
And then the Doctor talking to the Master on the phone!! OH man. Now THAT was pure hotness. I thought Jack and the Doctor was hot. THIS was just...GAH! ORGASMIC!

*cough*

Hey, it WAS! :P SO, OBVIOUSLY an AMAZING episode. Can NOT wait for next week! :P This week..whatever. :P
I also meant to say...last time...for the last episode...I remember thinking during Gridlock...when Boe said, "You are not alone"...I had this thought thinking..."Hey, wouldn't it be something if it WERE a Time Lord...but like a human Time Lord?" XD And then when the chameleon arch came along...I didn't think twice about it...and then the Master appears and I'm like HOLY *beep*! A human Time Lord! XD XD XD

Oh and Oh Wise Phoenix...I LOOOOOVE your new siggy and LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE the avvie!
*SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
:swoon:

YAY!

*bounces around excitedly* NOW I'm SUPER hyper! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol. Yes, that bit. At one stage I found list of Dr Who theories, on a forum or something. One of the more popular ones regarding the Master (and his particular dislike of the Doctor) was that the Doctor and he were brothers, hence the fact that they hate each other so much. I'm presuming that particular line was a reference to the theory, and it's nice to see that the writers are so in touch with the fans. :)

I also feel the need to mention that I fully agree that the Doctor, when he learned Jack was with Torchwood, was scary. Very. But you can understand why, really. He finds that someone he trusted explicitly is working for the people who caused Rose to get trapped. I think it would kinda piss me off too, except that I watched Torchwood, and John Barrowman is so darn hot. :teehee:

I hope they don't stop Dr Who after Tennant goes. Such rumors distress me terribly. So maybe that smiley was an under-exaggeration. :'( :storm:
I'm actually keeping my fingers crossed that he sets out to match (or out do) Tom Bakers 7 series! Although, the series were shorter then. Tom only did 36 'episodes', which I believe Tennant has matched already! :D Then again, the episodes were air in 4-5 parts. :yeahright: I have no idea. How about we just toast to the doctor with the most complete episodes under his belt. :drunk:

Oh and Phoenix, your new sig set! Oh, the HOTNESS!
I think I'm gonna go make some Jack graphics now... you've inspired me!

*wanders off to find some Harkness Hotness*

I'm bouncing off the walls! Doctor Who starts up next friday! I'm so freakin' excited! Its the first two episodes too! I hope there are going to be two episodes every friday. That would be great, like the Olive Garden!

Here's the baner I made! I couldn't make it look good with a lot of text, so I stuck with the main message

If you want, Kess, you can put that on the front page as a club banner!

First- Caunion: Serious banner and name change love! Your a time lord! Yours is lovley too Pheonix, especially the avvie! And Nauriel, gorgeous banner, I'll add it to the front page :)
Secondly- Its finale day! I'm so excited!! I can't watch it today cos I'm working, but that doesn't mean I can't go completley hyper! Its sorta sad too though, means we're gonna have to wait till crimbo for more :'( Which is depressing, but hopefully a brilliant finale will make up for it. Though it's gonna be tough to beat the last two, I adored both of them :)

Tonights episode was AMAZING!!!!!! I wont spoil it for any of you my fellow Dr Who Fans, but I will tell you that the title is the end result, proper (if you hadnt gotten it from that lol!)

David Tennant should be made a king, the TV license fee is worth is just for Dr Who!!!!!!!

"Doctor" *15million=result!!!!!!!!

Know everyone will LOVEEEEEE this episode, and the christmas episode will be ace.
Mephiston

P.s. whoever was worried about there not being anymore Dr Who, dont worry. Another series has already been commisioned to start next year so I have heard.

i really enjoyed tonight's episode BUT it was slightly spoiled by the fact that all the way through i was thinking "what a waste of jack". i'd been waiting all series for his return, then you barely saw him this episode.

i won't say any more for now though, because i don't want to give anything away. i'll give further thoughts once i know everyone's seen it.

Oh. My. Wowness.

That was awesome!! And that very last 'what.' was hilarious. Just the disbelief....

And Jack... that's an interesting twist. And kinda ironic, too. :P

All in all a very nice epidose from RT Davis. Nothing expected, and yet it still all worked out.

And I'm trying not to spoil anything for people, so I'm probably not making much sense, talking without the facts. :P

Oh, and I'll be gone for a week. Just in case you felt like missing me, which I'm sure you wont. :P

But I was pretty much in tears...at that one part at the end. Oh man...*dies* It was just SO heartbreaking.

"Say hello, Gandalf." XD XD XD
