I haven't seen this yet, and when I first heard Michael Bay was making it I cringed with embarassment. I grew up on the original Transformers cartoon and was very very concerned about how he'd make it look.

I've went through wanting to see it, to being utterly repelled by things I'd read about and seen, mainly the desgins for the Autobots and Decepticons.

Now I'm sitting on the fence, I want to see it. I'm going to try really hard to look at it objectively. It'll be difficult as I say, I grew up being a HUGE fan of the original cartoon.

Hmm... I kind of want to see it. Mostly because i'm a fan of Shia LaBeouf :P

I don't really have the time to see movies now because i'm working, and our local theater hasn't played it (its a very small theater lol). Our outdoor drive-in theater is playing it right now along with Spiderman 3, but I am leaving for camp tomorrow and by the time I get back it won't be playing anymore. I don't really feel like going tonight either... i'm kinda busy.

But anyways... I will probably rent it when it comes out.

I think I might like to see it, but I'm waiting for a review from a friend who saw it... my guy friend said it was okay, with parts that were... iffy... and I've read that there's lots of cheesy parts and immodesty and stuff, but it sounds like there's not too much.

This movie was actually surprisingly good. I had to get my brothers out of the house all day a few weeks ago (so that my mom could clean), and a movie was looking like the best way to kill a few hours. We'd already seen Fantastic Four, I couldn't convince them to go see PotC again, and Harry Potter wasn't out yet, so we came to Transformers by process of elimination. I wasn't really expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Shia LaBeouf did a brilliant job of acting in this film, balancing the funny and the serious very well (something that, considering I grew up on Even Stevens, surprised me a bit). Ten stars? No. But for a summer action film? Pretty darn good.

Wow, I didn't think the movie sounded like a very good one (too guy-ish sounding I guess)... but after reading some these reviews I think it might not be too bad... but I definitely wouldn't go to see it until all possibilities of seeing AWE were out! :P ;) But when that unfortunately happens and if I get a chance I might check this one out.

I'm sorta interested in seeing it. I probably won't see it in a theater, but maybe after it comes out on DVD!

I went to see it with my little brother and a friend, and I have to say that I really, really liked it! *sigh* I love action films...

However, I thought that a few certain...comments...were not at all necessary, could easily have been omitted, and would have made the movie what my brother calls a "clean PG-13." No, I did not like those certain comments.

Other than that, though...*twirls* Great movie! Loved it!

yeah those comments weren't necessary, but the one was totally hilarious!!!

i read they want to make a second one! the movie has a great ending where you could add a great sequel, but then you could leave it at that. but during the credits, you see starscream retreat into space to get more decepticons i think.

I absolutley loved this movie. It was much better than I expected it to be. Actually, after I came out of the theater I expected the cars around us to jump up and transform into giant robots :P. I also used to watch the cartoon series, so I wanted to see how it would work as a movie. It was much better than I hoped. And yeah, I read that there are gonna be a few sequels, and LeBouf and the female lead are signed on for it.

My mother was the same way. I had to drag her to go see it, but she loved it. It was quite embarrassing when she screamed the first time Optimus appeared on screen.

They changed them for pretty obvious reasons. Boxy, awkward robots are okay for cartoons, but computer animated and for today's audience... not such a good idea.

I can understand Megatrons change, I can understand most of the changes. But the design of Megatron is truly horrid to look at. Surely they could have came up with something better.
That being said...as much as I miss Bumblebee as a VW. He looks fantastic as a Camaro (correct me if I'm wrong). Starscream looks amazing.

I'm really very pleased with how Optimus looks overall. Though the flame detail was a bit too much imo.

I'm still definetly wanting to see it though. Nothing quite like disengaging your brain for a couple of hours and watching giant robots smash the living daylights out of each other. :-D

[quote="Elenmir Míriel"]Actually, after I came out of the theater I expected

LOL o my goodness same here! me and my three friends were all in the car at midnight after the movie and whenever we saw a shiny, lit up 18 wheeler we all were like "look its optimus!!" lol.

my stepdad watched the show too, and he pointed out some of the differences, like jaz was a boom box or something, but i understand some of the changes too. b/c megatron wouldn't be very mobile if he was a gun.

yes i agree, megatron had a weird style adn his face was :confused2: yeah. lol it freaked me out the first time i saw him. lol.
