Veronica peered over their shoulders interestedly. "A new iPod?" Then she scowled. "Aren't there enough already? Let's see what this one does now, then."

Brian looked at Kay, "What do you think it does? It's an Ipod. I know you have seen those commericals."

Alyssa came over and picked up a white iPod. "Wonder what these are doing here?" She glanced around the room. "Are these what we're supposed to test? Kinda a let-down."

"I could have done that at home," said Veronica grimly. "They don't look too different anyway."

Kay search the ipod for some kind of power button. At the bottom of it, she pressed the button. The small screen lit up. There appeared a menu of numbers. They asked for a password. Her dad always sang to her when she was little about a small bird named Ello. It was a strange name, but he said the name would be the answer of all the questions about his lab. She typed in the password and she was in.

She called over Brian, she just stood there, wondering what you are suppose to do with it.

"Here, it works like this." Alyssa showed Kay on the iPod she was holding how to work the buttons and the menus. "Not too hard."

"A passworded iPod now?" said Veronica incredulously. "That's weird."

"Maybe that's why we're testing them- they've got some new features." Alyssa thought outloud.

"It's a special ipod!" said Kay. "Keep in mind, it is in a goverment lab. It must have something special to it. Maybe it has more things on it. I don't know." She started looking through the menu but nothing made sense. Of course, her dad never let her have an ipod so she had no idea how even a normal ipod worked.

"Yeah, I real special Ipod. I bet it can't even play songs," Brian grimmaced in his dislike of the new invention, "no earphone slot."

"The password is Ello. My dad sang me a song about a bird named Ello when I was a young girl so if he depended on me in a crsis to get into the lab, I would know the password that will access to everything in the lab plus a few extra passwords for getting in here. I don't know what this does though, my dad never told me of it" said Kay as she started scrolling down the list and selected a random link once everyone had an ipod.

On the screen appeared" Now spending you to the Coloseeum in Ancient Rome" Everyone around started panicing and screaming. Kay, having no idea what it meant, said" Now spending you to he Coloseeum in Ancient Rome? What kind of sound is that?!"

Suddenly, a gaint light appeared around them and they all felt a slight zap on them.Everyone was going through a big green portatal to the unknown.

"What the heck??!?!" shrieked Veronica, cursing and clawing at an unfortunate someone's face in shock. "What's it doing, Kay???"

Brian grabbed the Ipod from Kay and compared it to his own. They say the same thing, he thought, now transporting you to Ancient Rome?

Brian thought for a minute and figured out the only illogical, but logical, situation: portable time machines. He didn't want to believe it. That is, he didn't want to believe it until the portral took all of them, to which he finally yelled out that it was, indeed, a time machine.
