Eä, you're right, but the moderators are currently very busy right now with problems of chat rooms and such. . . or so I have been told. I guess we have to wait before we get such features. The moderators and webmaster have to get settled.

Tirithiel Hentaurë, can you specify on what you mean by fast reply? I don't really know what you mean. . .sorry.

Well, everybody, I have a couple of things to add here.

One, we now have stars, as everyone has noticed, instead of boxes, so thanks to the moderators and webmaster for that. And moderators and the webmaster all have all the stars already. . . to show their status. The rest of us have to work for our stars. . . just kidding! :)

Second of all, (I thought I might share info with all of you in case you're interested), in the previous forum, we had a preference if we wanted to prevent people from pm-ing us but here we don’t have that kind of feature. But I’ve talked with a very friendly moderator who has told me that the feature will be added later on some time in the future. However, if there is someone who you really don’t want to be pm-ing you, you can contact the webmaster or moderators to deal with the problem. I would suggest contacting the moderators, because they tend to be more free than the webmaster, who often has many PMs and e-mails to read, so you wouldn’t get a very quick reply if you contact her.

Those are my suggestions and facts I’ve learned and thought that I should alert you all on for your information. :-D

And last of all, I’d like to thank everyone for posting – this is my first thread, so I really like it when people respond. :-D

:bye2:

Yes, I noticed that from the very beginning...or so I thought. Try this. Press the reply button, and notice how a large purple area opens, with "Post a reply" on top, the emoticons on the left, and your text box in the middle?

Well, look up above that big purple section. In small letters it should say where you are. For example, right now I read "Arwen-Undomiel.com Forum Index -> Suggestions and Comments" That gives a clue. Now scroll down. There's a topic review. That should help you figure out where you are and what your reply is about. I hope that answers your question, Eä.

I meant the box at the bottom of the page on the old forums, when you didn't have to click on the 'POST REPLY' button, instead there was a text box at the bottom of the latest posts... it's easier to have that than to switch pages all the time...

^^^No offense, but you've certainly been a post flooder these past what? 3-4 days? lol

1. Make it so we can have the avatar size, all that like back at the old forum.
2. GET QUICK REPLY BOX.

Oh that's what you meant by quick reply. Yes I remember now. It slipped my memory because I usually didn't use it - I just clicked on "reply". :duh:

As for being a post flooder, that's alright, I don't mind - I actually like a lot of posts!!! Although we're not allowed to double post (put two posts in a row) and we have to stay on-topic. And I've asked a moderator about how many times we can post to one topic - there's no limit. :-D

Thank you everyone for posting! You've made my day! :bye2:

Thank you for posting Ivreniel. I usually do that and I can live without that feature. In fact it is more a matter of convenience, luxary... the spice of life... me being lazy. Or in other words, I'll just have to look where I am! I understand that you mods gotta be busy working on the new forum

Elberethsq, it is a good thread and needed. Good thing you started it and you're nursing it well!!!

Yes, thanks for posting Ivreniel. As for you Eä, I'm flattered that you think this is a good thread and that I nurse it well. . . I guess I do a little.

Mostly, to sum up from all the posts I've read here, the main concerns are centered around the replies, like "quick reply", which we don't have yet.

And if anyone has any questions or comments, you may post it here so that anyone coming by can answer!

Thanks! :bye2:

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! A lot of the features you're suggesting will be available when this forum software upgrades to version 3 (Olympus). I'm not sure exactly when this will be, but right now, since modifications have an evilishy habit of crashing the whole forum (except for minor ones), I think I'll wait and see what the timetable is for the release of the upgrade.

Just a reminder: the Quick Reply box on the old forum was only instituted at the very end of its life, and we did ok before that feature was added ;)

Smeagolisfree, what do you mean by avatar size? Do you mean typing in the pixel size dimensions for width and height?

*smiles* thanks for posting here, Arwen. 'Tis an honor. Okay, well, we can live without the quick reply box, and it won't do if the forum crashed right? I think we're all adjusting to this new forum anyhow. But it'll be nice once we get the new features after this forum upgrades to version 3. Do you know exactly what features we'll get? :bounce:

Alright, anyone have anymore suggestions or questions? This is the best place to post if you do have any, unless you want to create your own thread. Have a nice day! :bye2:

A million. But I'm not the person to see explain them all, so I'll direct you to the official list and the beta version:

http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=104463 - extensive list of features. Many are very techy and probably not very helpful to most people reading this thread, but they'll be cool for me to admin the board.

http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=131610 - and a few more features.

http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/ - the example/development board.

Btw, I have NO idea when they're planning on releasing it...they're keeping it under pretty close wraps.

I think someone mentioned this on another thread, about the text underneath the avatar?

That was a nice touch I though, you reckon we'd be able to have it again?

(No worries if it's no-go, though :) )

Thanks for replying!

And thanks for the list. I'll check them out. But if everything is so techy, then I probably won't understand, since I'm not a computer whiz like so many people are at this forum. I mean, I don't even know what BBCode stands for.

And of course, I'll be looking forward to the new features. This forum is already pretty much well-developed to me compared to other forums because it has so many boards, members, threads, emoticons, and different, unique features. :-D

And to you Alessae - I think somebody did mention it. But this thread is a general suggestions thread, so it doesn't matter.

I would like to be able to put words under the avatar, that'd be really nice, but I guess we're going to have to sacrifice other features to gain new ones, possibly better ones. :)

Thanks for posting everyone! Have a nice day! :bye2:
