(You are absolutely cruel *chuckles*)

----

Cor watched the child for a moment, but said nothing, only remaining hesitant at first to turn the gaze away in order to follow Cyril. Something about that child... but the elf could not at that moment fine tune the sense.

----

The child looked at the others, horrified, but clung to Ruth Ann's hand. As he realized they were heading deeper into the shadow, he began to sob, pulling on the hobbit's hand. "Don't go in there! Don't go in there! There are things... horrible white people with no eyes! Please don't take me there, I want to go home! And the man....the horrible old man.... " He suddenly shudders, his green eyes wide in fright. "He takes the children, and.... and they don't come back but I hear them crying sometimes.... I don't know why the white people didn't see me.... but it was horrible!"

If one had noticed, they would see the child is wearing an elven cloak, a little large for him, but it sufficed. Now that his hood was down, however, he was clearly seen.

----

"A child.... why has he escaped my eyes." Ahar muttered to himself, the vision given to him by the spirit of Ilbrar, which indeed it was Ilbrar himself possessing his actions. Ahar gripped a hand to his staff, raising the twisted head to the air. "It is time, warriors of the dead.... kill them." The fog thickened and from it came "the white people", and slowly they sifted their way through the forest, preparing to meet the oncoming group.

Ruth Ann clung onto the little child's hand. "It's fine," her warm voice comforted the small child, "You will stay with me." With her other hand, Ruth Ann pulled out a dagger, more like a knife to Big Folk. "You can hold this," she told the boy, "if it would make you feel better."

Eruraina took her gaze from the child, and continued on. Soon the fog became thicker, so thick she lost sight of Ciril, and everyone else for that matter. She paused, closing her eyes, ears and nose straining for something out of the ordinary. There was. The smell of death had become stronger... almost like the sourse was...

Eruraina turned around to see three white men, with no eyes, heading right for her, and were only feet away now. A scream escaped her lips, as she drew her white blade...

Turwaithiel was quick when she heard Eruraina's scream. She looked around, drawing both blades and preparing herself for any evil that was thrown at her.

Cyril casually pulled out his two swords and ducked behind a tree.

Another white man came up and swung at him, but the creature seemed unaware that the tree was between Cyril and him.

Cyril moved out now that the man's sword was lodged in the tree. With a swift movement he chopped off the things head and sliced it in two at the waist.

"They can't see you, they can only sense life forms." Cyril told the others. "Use that to your advantage."

Turwaithiel heard Cryil's advice...or warning, she she dove to the ground to avoid one of the white creatures. As she did, she hit him in the leg with one nice clean swipe, taking his right leg off clean. Then, she jumped behind a tree to take a breather.

Eruraina heard what Ciril said, and nodded, though knew he couldn't see her. With her sword she plocked a blow from an axe coming from the first figure. She ducked low to dodge a blow from a sword from a second figure. That same blow hit the axe-weilding figure, cutting it in half. Eruraina thrust her sword through the second figure, making it fall to the ground.

But before she could turn to take down the third figure, she felt a piercing pain in her shoulder. She looked down to see a spear point coming from her shoulder. She switched the hands that held her blade, using her spare hand, she reached back and pulled the spear out, gritting her teeth.

Eruraina turned, and cut the head off of the last figure. Her breathing became labored as she held her shoulder that was now of no use...

Turwaithiel thought she heard something coming near her and she froze...then, she heard a twig snap and she turned her head slightly to see behind the tree, she saw a large silver thing flying towards her. Turwaithiel ducked quickly, falling to the ground as one of the white thing's swords made very hard contact with the wood. She looked up at the figure as it stood, trying to sense where she had gone. She couldn't decide if she should move or stay...or if she should wait for that thing to decide for her.

(Hmmm.... *reads up and tries to make a post that'll last a while amid many posts*)

The child, terrified and sobbing, coward behind Ruth Ann until finally he crouched as low as possible against a tree while holding the elven cloak around himself tightly. The warrior spirits didn’t seem to see him, in fact, several merely glided harmlessly over him, not sensing the life behind the cloak.

True Lorien cloaks were hard to come by since the Lady Galadriel had sailed across the sea, yet somehow this child had a cloak woven by the very hands of the Lady and her maidens. The wizard had possibly not yet realized this, and thus he was shocked by the sudden appearance of the lad in the group.

---

Cor swung a low cut to a white figure with the long elven blade, slicing just below the knees, then reversed in the same manner, taking down a second. With a quick twist of motion, the elf unsheathed a dagger and deftly hurled it into the face of a white shadow just behind Ruth Ann, towering over the hobbit.

"Turwaithiel, Ciril? Where are you?" Eruraina called into the thick mist. She sheathed her blade, and held her wounded shoulder, her arm dangling uselessly by her side. Eruraina stood silently, hoping someone on her side would find her before another figure did...

Turwaithiel heard Eruraina call and she quickly stood and trying to stab the creature, but it smelled her and it quickly used it's blade to block her own and then pulled out a secret blade and it sliced her left arm. Turwaithiel cried out in pain and then she pulled her sword out and sliced the figures head off before following the sound of Eruraina's voice until she almost ran into her. "Eruraina!" She said, clutching her left arm.

Eruraina turned when she heard Turwaithiel.
"Are you all right?" she asked when she saw that the elf was holding her arm...

Turwaithiel looked around and said, "I will be fine." She cursed softly and wiped the blood off her hand onto her pants and asked Rain, "What is this new devilry? I have never faced such as this in all my days of war!"

(Thanks. So this is what I get for taking a nap. Although, I did catch up by reading.)

Ruth Ann faced a major problem. These things weren't real, so her technique that had worked so fondly throughout these years was not so hot on these creatures.

She had debated for a time to head back to the young boy, with the cloak, but remained hacking into the figures with her sword.

Turning around and seeing Cor, Ruth Ann merely smiled and nodded her head at the sight of him. Into the air, she asked, "If these things are dead, how in the world are we supposed to kill them?"

Cor chuckled low while striking and shattering a figure. “They seem to despise all things elven and of ancient craft. Have you an elven blade, good Halfling?” the elf questioned Ruth Ann while the shadowed eyes beneath the hood searched for the white ghostly figures which seemed to drift in so swiftly.

---

Meanwhile the young lad remained hidden, unseen by the white people, even though he sobbed with fear. An ill fated gust of wind, however, blew the child’s hood from his face, and the figures saw him instantly, two of them taking the boy by the arms, though they were entirely incapable of slaying one of pure innocence. Instead, they pulled him away slowly deeper into the fog, away from the battle, though he screamed and struggled.

---

Ahar laughed bitterly and struggled his way closer, supported by his staff, until he heard the sounds of the battle. In his decrepit form, he was content to listen at a distance and watch through visions, remaining in safety, yet when he saw the child, he began heading again deeper into the fog, to welcome the newest of the Prisoners of Innocence…

"I believe that it is elvish," Ruth Ann told Cor as she slung upwards at one of the ghost-like creatures, "at least, I have the inclination of it because they don't appear to like the sword very much, but, with everything, I will honestly say I don't remember." Ruth Ann, at her last comment, lowered her sword and made sure she had eye contact with Cor which made her very vulnerable. After around three seconds, she soon realized what she had done and fell down to the ground to dodge the oncoming sword.

Rolling away, Ruth Ann ran into the tree and grasped her head. She used the bark to help her up and soon looked around to see that there was something different. Looking down at the ground, Ruth Ann shockingly thought, the boy's gone, and jerked her head over to see that the ghostlike creatures, at least the ones nearby, had left her alone.

Once Ruth Ann Underhill recovered from her second of shock, she ran as fast as her little hobbit feet could take her through the ghosts and towards the screams.
