Yep, you can join. Welcome.

Another villain I love is Commodus from Gladiator. And that has nothing to do with the fact he is played by the delectable Joaquin Phoenix.

For a minute there, I was scared that I wasn't part of this club. But I'm okay now.

OH MY. How many villains have come about now in three years?

Quote:
Lord Blackwood
The Phantom
Severus Snape
Darh Vader
Septimus
Boba Fett
Lucius Malfoy
Sheriff Of Nottingham

Yes, yes, and yes. Although I am thinking of a different Sheriff than you, but whatever. The Sheriff is a cool villain anyway. Regardless of adaptation and actor. :D Though I'm shocked that you don't have Godfrey on there? Or have you not seen the new Robin Hood? With Mark Strong as yet another villain?

I definitely have to add on all my book villains though. Which I feel like are way too many to name, maybe I'll go through some other time. Also, Nimueh from Merlin and....

...

JAVERT. Les Mis. HE'S THE COOLEST THING EVER. Because he has fantastic songs.

Speaking of, who can forget all the amazing Disney villains who just rise over everything because of their cool songs?

....actually, I just remembered. Livejournal picspam about evil.

No I haven't seen the new Robin Hood yet. But you know me and my Mark Strong love, so I could already add him to my list I reckon.

[On a side note, Daniel Day Lewis is going to have to do something really special to capture my heart with Moriarty as MS did with Blackwood]

Javert is really good. Especially when played by Phillip Quast.

Oh, yes there are many great Disney villains. Although I love Prince John as he is so evil yet absolutely useless he's in his own category of villainry.

I would have included Guy just for the drool factor BTW. ;)

And I forgot to add Daniel Plainview. Not really a villain, but a misunderstood person.

My favourite villains? Hmm well....

Anime
Crocodile - One Piece
Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) - One Piece
Donquixote Doflamingo - One Piece
Schneizel el Britannia - Code Geass

Movies
Hannibal Lecter - The Silence of the Lambs
Darth Vader - Star Wars
Palpatine - Star Wars
Ozymindas - Watchmen
Colonel Hans Landa - Inglourious Basterds
The Duke of Norfolk - Elizabeth
The Joker - The Dark Knight
Ra's al Ghul - Batman Begins
The Scarecrow - Batman Begins
Jackson Rippner - Red Eye
Norman Stansfield - Leon: The Professional
Amon Goeth - Schindler's List
Lord Summerisle - The Wicker Man
Karl Ruprecht Kroenen - Hellboy
Prince Nuada - Hellboy II: The Golden Army
Hans Gruber - Die Hard
Norman Bates - Psycho
Captain Vidal - Pan's Labyrinth
Mr. Blonde - Reservoir Dogs
John Doe - Seven
Agent Smith - The Matrix

TV Shows
The Hands of Blue - Firefly
The Daleks - Doctor Who
The Master (played by John Simm) - Doctor Who
The Weeping Angels - Doctor Who
Alpha - Dollhouse

Disney and other Western Animated Media
Judge Claude Frollo - The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Scar - The Lion King

I'm not quite sure where I would be these people in terms of category. I had to stop myself from putting "villains" here because they were hot and just happened to be evil. A great deal of these people are here because they quite honestly scare me. Like the Daleks and the Weeping Angels, of course, but also Amon Goeth and John Doe. But almost all of these people are here because they are just great at being completely and ruthlessly evil and vile and horrible people. Bonus points if they manage to chew the scenery while being evil.

I'm genuinely surprised that Judge Frollo isn't in the Disney(ish) picspam of villains. He surpasses almost everyone in his fanaticism, his cruelty, and the sheer horrifying series of actions he takes. He kills a mother and tries to drown her baby within five minutes of the movie, for heavens' sakes. And lest we forget, he has one of the coolest songs ever. Hellfire

Do we have a section for anti-heroes? Like extreme anti-heroes? Like Lelouch vi Britannia. He has such an impressive evil laugh.

EDIT: Oh drats! I forgot Dr. Horrible. Who has a Ph.D in horribleness.

Have you guys seen this? I know they forgot some people but one does have to remember they have human villains so that kinda cancels some of our evil friends. Try naming them! :D

Villains? I love villains! Not to be confused with the Anti-Hero. A good villain is hard to come by these days, don'cha know.

I would like to join the knavery of this club, if'n I'm evil enough.

Hmmm, a nick name, you say? I'll have to put some thought into that. I'm not exactly one to just jump into a thing so important as a nick name, you see.

My favorite villain is also a somewhat of a tricky question. What makes a good villain varies from medium to medium in my book, you know. That being said, I'll spell out my favorite villains in various areas.

Film: Anton Chigurh, from No Country for Old Men. This character almost made it impossible for me to watch the movie, he's such a cold-hearted individual. Throughout the movie, he's shown trifling with life with things like a flip of the coin. Sure, it's a great parallel for the idea that our lives are dominated by chance, but it still makes for one seriously scary villain.

Literature: Roger, from Lord of the Flies. Piggie. 'Nuff said.

Video Game: Al Mualim, from Assassin's Creed. Oh man, the betrayal. The whole game you're actively fighting for this guy to redeem yourself, and then BAM. He's a Templar, too? It rocked my world the first time I played through the game.

Anime/Manga: Android 17 & Android 18, from Dragon Ball Z. I happen to be THE biggest DBZ nerd on the planet, don'cha know. And these two are the absolute best villains, though they do border on the delicate line of 'anti-hero' in that they are eventually 'reformed.' Thing is though, and anyone who knows DBZ knows this too, in the original timeline which Future Trunks comes from, they actually destroy the world when they're left unchecked, but not without toying with the planet in a giant game of cat and mouse first. It's classic stuff.

Those are my favorite villains in the areas that mostly occupy my time. I would spell out some TV villains, but I don't really watch that much TV anymore. I mean, the shadows on Ghost Whisperer were pretty scary, I guess. But that's about all I've really got.
