The pirate's chin tucked into his neck and he cast an odd eye towards Portia's direction. "Without ye?" he said in a horse whisper. . .not like the natives couldn't understand him anyway.

As Will managed to untie the hard knotted rope around his ankles, he freed one foot and began to untangle the next one, "What are you saying? Portia, you're coming with me and Jack. Why on earth would we leave you here? You should know that by now." His voice was soft and lowered, but his eyes determined and slightly agrivated.

Portia stared at Jack and then she looked over to Will. "I'm tired and weak... I'll just drag behind, when you both can escape. Just take the doll and leave me 'ere." She told the both of them sternly and then let her head fall back a bit, as she stared up at the sky, finding it a little hard to breathe.
The Natives stared at Jack and then looked over to Will and Portia. They were wondering what was going on, but they couldn't understand a word that they were saying, so they just stared the three pirates down.

Jack came over to her side, and bent down to her level. His two captivating eyes gazed into hers and a grim look of regret came over his weathered face. "Keep to the code, is it then?"

William had finally freed himself completely and was now sitting beside Portia, "Jack, what are you saying? We can't just leave her here."
He began to try and loosen the bonds around her hands, "There is no code needed here, Jack. She will leave with us."

Jack paused at William's voice and cast his eyes to the grass. "Every man who falls behind, is left behind." Captain Jack repeated the code with a look of morose in his eyes.

Portia slowly looked over Jack and Will's faces, with a sad look in her eyes. "Aye... keep to Tha Code." She told them both softly. You can try and take me with ya, but if I fall behind... leave me there." She said to them and then looked up into Jack's eyes, feeling tears reach her own. "Jack... I'm sorry, fer everythin'... And I wish I could've told ya how I felt sooner." She said softly to him.

Will looked to Portia with worry written all over his face. He felt no need to ask her questions at the moment. This was between her and Jack. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he watched her face with sadness.

Portia took a deep breath and felt tears reach her eyes, sadly. "No, Jack... I've always liked ya. I just didn't have tha courage to tell you." She whispered and felt tears slowly slide down her cheeks.

Jack barely blinked after her words, he only stared at her and stated plainly that she was wrong on multiple counts. Firstly, he felt compelled to press the point that the reasons she had given did not testify that he wasn't a good Captain, because contrary to popular belief, everyone knew she was always right.
And she didn’t have to do anything (not that he was really blaming her for anything, he was quick to point out), and she did it more for her own benefit than anything else. Lastly, she acted like he was a bad man, like he was the devil himself – and he wasn’t. Not at all. After their conversation ended, despite what Jack had spoken, that signature smirk spread across his face and he nodded his head in approval, "All in all, Miss Portia, ye were me best mate."

Will nodded in approval with Jack and looked her deep in the eyes. Knowing that Jack and himself would probably never see her again, but a burden upon his heart.
His eyes shifted to Jack hesitantly and then looked back to Portia. "Aye, as you have been a sister to me. Thank you." He smiled softly and placed his hand on her head gently.
