Yup, I totally agree with you and Taur! I think they would sell a lot of Elizabeth or Barbossa stuff! I mean Barbossa might not be drop dead gorgous like Will or Jack but he is totally awesome!!! And even the Elizabeth stuff is hard to come by… Taur’s right it does seem slightly out of balance… especially all the Jack stuff! I mean for AWE the only poster our theater used was the one with only Jack on it (you know how they put the movie poster of the movie that‘s playing by the door)… they didn’t even try to have any different ones… Like a Jack one by the door to this AWE, a Barbossa one to the door where this AWE was playing and such…
But I do think they'd make a lot of money if they made like more Elizabeth, Barbossa, Davy, and even Norrington and Beckett stuff. I would buy it as quick as I could get my hands on it that's for sure.

I’ve always, always thought Jack would come back for her (I mean it just seems like something he’d do for Will… to protect her and keep her safe for when Will comes back… but I’ve already explained all that on the Pirate Society in the Clubs section) I also just can’t see Elizabeth wanting to settle down that much… it just isn't like her. And Uncle Jack actually fits him quite well Uncle Jack, Uncle Hector, Uncle Joshamee… just think of the cool family little William will have!

Yeah, I thought the cereal was pretty good… which was sorta surprising because it's not really my kind of cereal.

Oh, and I was just on Amazon.com and they say the release date for AWE is officially December 4th! and they also say the list price for the 2-disc special addition one is expected to be $34.99!!! But they always seem higher than other stores… or at least I hope so! So I would say they will make a ton of money off the DVD!
I think the first scenes I will watch are the Singapore ones and definitely the Final Battle and Will’s “death”, and then maybe I’d finally settle down to watch the whole thing through

AAhhhhh...december 4....that's like 4 months.....too long. but when i buy teh movie the first thing i'm doing is watching the whole thing throught about 10 times then watching my fav parts. 34.99 is kinna expensive for a movie. i hope it has more special features and stuff htan DMC has.

i would buy as much barbossa or davy stuff as will or sumthing. They are sooo coool!!!!!i think it's too much when everything is jack. i didn't agree with theatr poster being just him. and on tth soundtrack it's just him too. i love the poster of all of the walking through the mist. it's so cool.
there needs to be more stuff with all the characters like pintel and ragetti and Mr cotton, tia dalma, and jack the monkey and stuff, and i guess beckett but i really don't liek him very much. but yeah, there are way more characters than jack. most of the stuff at the store is jack. lol.

lol my sis has a stanudup of will. i come inter her room just to stare at it but i have one of legolas so it's works out either way. lol

i've never had teh cereal, sounds tasty, but i've only seen it.

Exactly. Plus I think that Jack never completely got over Elizabeth. I am not trying to imply that Elizabeth was unfaithful to Will after he became captain of the Flying Dutchamn or that Jack tried to convence her to be unfaithful to Will, just that I think that Jack still had some feelings (even maybe just friend feelings) for Elizabeth. So for him to just drop out of her life permanetly would not make sense to me. Also as you said Elizabeth was much too adventerous to settle down that much, or stay in one place for forever. So the two of them at the very least bumping into one another would make the most sense to me. Just my opinion though.

Lady of Taniquetil, I agree. The movie poster being of just Jack was disappointing. I think that it should of at least been of Jack, Will, and Elizabeth...and maybe even Barbossa since alot of people consider him also a right hand costar. My mum seems to think though that perhaps only Jack's picture being on the movie poster was meant as a stab at Keira and Orlando (since neither of them said that they were for sure wanting to do another PotC. Keira pretty much said no and Olri said maybe from what I have read. (Then I had read nothing about Geofry wanting or not wanting to do another PotC...at the time) Unlike Johnny who was for sure wanting to do another one. So perhaps the writters/producers/or other people at Disney were trying to get back at Keira and Orli.)

Hmmm, very good question. I would say yes. Once a pirate always a pirate...at least a littlle bit. I say that especialy in Elizabeth's case because I think that if the situation called for it, ten years down the line, she would not think twice about doing an act of piracy, if need be. What do you think?

I guess when you buy PotC stuff you have to remember 1.) it's a Disney movie and all their stuff seems a bit more pricey, 2.) it's Pirates, and 3.) you're really paying for the logo and the character's faces on it… but, hey, it's worth it in the end
Yeah, you're right! Jack wouldn't have just forgotten about Liz or Will like that… no way. They were Jack's friends. His close, loyal (well, for the most part ), true friends… and Jack's a good guy deep down. He wouldn't have just left and forgotten about Liz. You're totally right!

I know, I'm really hoping it will actually be cheaper than they say… and it will have a pic on the case of the WHOLE main cast! Not just Jack. That's an interesting idea that your mom had… Hmmm, it could've been meant that way… but if it was I don’t think it was the writers who were in on it. I read they never intended to write Will or Liz out and that they would be willing to still have them in the story… don't know about the rest though. I'm sure Johnny D. never intended it as anything bad toward his fellow cast members either… he doesn't ask for all this attention, I'm sure.

Ok, you guys will never guess what I found on my latest adventure to Wal-Mart! A Kleenex box for At World's End! It looks like the dead man's chest and it's got a picture of the Empress (Sao's ship) on the sides and photos of Will and Elizabeth on the front! Which I actually found refreshing but surprising… I mean only Will and Liz? But, hey, that makes it unique... and it's totally awesome besides! I mean who would think of putting Pirates on a Kleenex box?

Yeah, the movie poster is disappointing. There are three main characters as well as a million other lovable ones! Why then is only Jack represented? I don't think it was because of Keira and Orlando, rather they were just trying to take advantage of the fact that Jack is so likable and has the largest fanbase.

I agree about Elizabeth. I was actually surprised to see her in a dress again at the scene after the credits. I would have thought that she would have bought a ship or something and taken her son around the Caribbean. How did she support herself and him? Afterall, she was "single" wtih a child and she didn't have her father's governer's salary to rely on anymore. Speaking of governer, who took over? So many unanswered questions...


I would! That sounds really neat! (Though slightly unfair... Jack gets blankets and posters and T-shirts and Will and Elizabeth get.... a Kleenex box! )

Let me tell you, that box is not going anywhere. And I LOVELOVELOVE how it looks like the chest that Will's heart went into!! And also that it's just Will and Lizzie, and no Jack.

Speaking of which, Taurquende and DD, I do believe I did mean Winston Churchill. And now I feel very stupid. But anyway...um...let's see...there are a lot of Williams listed on Wikipedia but none I know anything about. Maybe Will Smith, if you like that sort of thing. hmmm, that could be too, Taur! I just feel so bad for the other characters! You are sooo right there are three main ones (and Barbossa is very close to making it four) and then the rest are awesome too! It makes me so mad to see the others not get any credit but, yeah, Jack does have the advantage of the largest fanbase...

I personally believe Jack came back for Liz a few days or hours later (after Will had to leave)... I mean I could so see Jack doing that... but I think I've already explained my point of veiw and all that here... hmmm, I think I have. Maybe that was somewhere else.

Will and Elizabeth get a fair amount too... although I would like to see more. It might be slightly unfair... but I thought it was awesome to see something with ONLY them on it! Yay for Will and Liz!



I know exactly what you mean.... I was extremely disappointed with how they handled their group poster for AWE (it was cool but not exactly convenient for the way the theaters are set up)... I mean you could hardly find it anywhere in the theaters (I think it's because of the way they had it side to side instead of up and down like the other two). and so everything was just all Jack...



I know... everyone seems to be forgetting about the beloved Pirates and this thread!

I believe Will III and Liz were on the island Will left Elizabeth on in AWE... I have no clue what the island is but I doubt it was Port Royal... and probably not Shipwreck Island... although after the Final Battle that's the island they were closest too. Hmmm

Hmmm, maybe they'll make a good commentary with the PotC writers for AWE and they will be able to clear some of these questions up. *hopeful*

It's kinda a small picture but from the looks of it the cover will be pretty cool! Although I wish Barbossa and Elizabeth were a bit bigger and Sao Feng was a bit smaller... still it's a pretty sweet cover, isn't it? It's probably my favorite of the three.

Well, Pirates (IMO) has something pretty special going for it: it makes you like most of the characters at least a little bit. I definitely have a favorite (no really? ) but I like a lot of the other characters too because they're so interesting and well-developed. Or layered, or something like that. (LOTR's like that too, I have a heck of a time picking favorites from that!) Well, like I said, she might be more disappointed than mad...but either way, I do love them both. Thanks.

you're so right there, Anie! All the characters in PotC are amazing! Even though I have my personal favorites it is hard to not love them all (well other than one... )! Pirates of the Caribbean (and Lord of the Rings) goes into the category (IMO) that few movies go into... it's that rare, special movie which only comes along every once and a while.
well, still, I don't think there's anything to be disappointed about!

You are totally right! I really like that about LotR and PotC! They make you think and discover new things and try to unravel things about the movies. I love movies with lots of twists and turns where at the end you go "wow! I would've never thought of that! That's pretty sweet!" although I do enjoy the average chick flick as well as my dvd collection shows.

Exactly! Despite the fact that he and Elizabeth did not always get along, they still truly cared about the other (as people, as friends). Then Jack was also friends Will. Plus he is a really sweet person, way, way deep down, so I can not see him just leave Elizabeth and William James stranded and alone to fiend for themselsves.
Ooh me too! I do not think that the writters really had anything to do with it either. Word has it that people higher up cut very importent scenes from AWE so them cutting Orli and Keira out of the movie poster without the writters' permission (and/or perhaps without their knowledge as well) does not seem like that far of a stretch to me. I agree. I really do not think that Johnny had anything to do with it either. Johnny is best friends with Orli and seems to get along with Keira just fine and he seems to truly be a nice person. So I don't think that he would ever do anything like that especialy not to his friends.
Ooh I did not know that the writters had said that. Maybe since they said that, Will (Orli) and Elizabeth (Keira) will be back for another possable Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.

Ooh, I love the new cover for the dvd! Thank you so, so, so much for posting it for us! I was browsing on the KttC site awhile back and there was a thread about the dvd cover(s). One had that picture for the two disc edition and another dvd cover with a picture of just Jack on it (perhaps for the one disc edition? )

Anie Surion, Oh don't worry about it. All of us can get confused and accidently mix things up sometimes. It really is allright. Very true. Hmm I guess you could always say that the kid was named after William Shakespear (the fameous writter). Ooh, no. I did not know that. That is so cool! Thanks for letting us know about that. I shall have to look that up sometime. I have read William Turner's entire Wikpedia entry before though. It is pretty accurate and it has some really cool information on it.
