Cat ignored the question, flicking her hair out of her eyes, she smiled gently, sensing her friends change of mood.

"Look, why dont you go and find him."she said quietly, pulling her pet unto her lap, and scratching it behind the ear's.

Collin squirmed against her wet clothes, and mewling like a child, he swiped at her finger's, making a game of it as Cat deliberately temted him with long fingers and sudden moves.

Emmy walked down the train corridor looking for a free compartment. She saw her friends in one compartment. They had enough for one more.
"Hey." She grinned (James' compartment). She hadn't seen them on the platform.
"How were your guys's summers?" Emmy asked falling back on a vacant seat.

Lily fidgeted slightly in her seat. Then she stood up.

"I'm going to look for him --coming?"

She knew the answer was no, but asking was only polite.

Cat grinned and stood up, placing Collin on her seat.
"I dont think so, but I'll have a wander. I think I just saw Emmy pass our compartment."
She slipped out, and followed her fellow Gryffindor, not wanting any part in the conversation with Severus Snape at all. The boy made her skin crawl.

"Any of you know who the Quidditch captain is this year?"
Cat leant in, both hands on the doorframe, grinning at Emmy and James cheerfully, before squashing down next to Emmy and leaning back.

Lily followed Cat out and stood hesitantly by the door as Cat walked into the full cmpartment. She waited a moment, contemplating wheather to stay or not. But then she saw that Potter was also there. She disliked him so much, it would be too much hastle to stay in the compartment. She nodded briefly at the others and then turned away.

Sirius eyes shifted from Cat, who'd sat down in the full compartment next to Emmy, to Lily Evans. His smile grew wider and after she'd left with a polite nod, he poked his friend's side and winked. He knew that his friend had shown some interest in Evans though he didn't want to admit it.

Lily sighed, and then started along the corridor. She looked into various compartments, not finding Severus anywhere. She arrived at the last door and then pushed it open. Severus was sitting, alone, in the compartment reading.

"Hello," Lily mumbled, almost incoherently.

Cat watched her two friends affectionetly, wondering wheather or not she dared to tease James about Lily. Deciding against it, she grinned to herself, instead deciding to tease Lily about James later.

"When's the trolly coming round?" she muttered."I'm starving..."
Her gaze lingered on Sirius.
Usually she stared openly at people, not particularly caring what they thought about her. But with him it was different, and she hated it- hated him for it.
"Bad summer as usual?"
She gazed steadily at Black, tapping her bitten fingernails on her knee.

Lupin stared out the window as usual, watching the houses and trees fly by. He only paid some attention to James and Sirius, ignoring all else that was around him and the girls that has passed by the compartment. He was internally grateful that the start of the term was between the full moons. Oddly enough, his mind wasn't on the full moons or the prefect badge that he was absentmindedly tapping. It was on the two boys that shared his compartment right now.

They knew his big furry problem three years ago but both of them pledged to help him with it. Lupin's constant badgering yielded no answers and he was left wondering what they were going to do. He hoped it was nothing too serious or stupid, but knowing James and Sirius, it was bound to be senseless. Still, he mused, sighing, at least he wasn't coped with a mad pureblood fanatic family like Sirius was.

Severus looked up from his book almost in surprise as he heard the voice. He didn't expect anyone coming into his compartment. He saw Lily standing by the door. He put his book History of Dark Arts away and looked at her. "Hello, Lily", he said, not really knowing what to say. He hadn't seem Lily for the whole holidays, nor has he written to her or received a letter from her, although he wanted to write her the whole summer. "Would you...like to come in...and sit down?" he finally asked.
