Corison smiled weakly. "David ... you were worried again..." She reached up to smooth the lines of weariness from his face. "I'm alright now ...tired..." She still had a light fever, but it was steadily dropping.

Sylan stepped out into the hall. He leaned his back against the wall and covered his face with his hand.

David's mom, Mary Ann watched Sylan go out. she sighed. she walked out and saw him. she stood in front of him for a moment. " dear." she said softly. " she will be ok." she said reasuring.

David tried to smile but it didn't do too much to improve his worrying. " i love you." he said before he kissed her cheek. " i'm sorry if i get worried, i just" he paused for a moment looking for the right words to say. " i just don't want to lose you. not to sickness, or anything else for that matter." he said heart-felt.

"How do you know?" Sylan asked not looking up. The thought of loseing Corison was like the thought of cutting off his right arm.

"I love you too David... I'm not going anywhere ..." She put at arm around his neck hugging him. She closed her eyes intending only to rest them for a moment, but fell asleep her arm round David's neck.

David watched her fall asleep and then removed her arm from his neck. he kissed her hand then layed it back down on the bed. he watched her for a moment.

Lanie watched. she sighed.
David turned around to look at her. " so what got you into the mess your in now?" he asked all concerned big brother like.
Lanie shrugged. " when i fell down the stairs at the arena...i broke 2 ribs." she said looking at her feet in the weelchair. " then the rib puntured my lung and i had to have surgery and then i riped my stiches...and now i find out my sister is dying." she said praying to God that her tears would not slip.

David's mom sighed. " becuase she is strong Sylan. thats how i know." she put a hand on his sholder.

"Strong ..." Sylan slid down the wall to a sitting position. "She's not that strong ..." Silent tears coursed down his cheeks as he finally let go of all the fear and worry.

Mary ann sat on the floor next to him she watched the doctor's a nurses run by, doing their errends and other such things. she looked at Sylan. " phisiclly she is not. but her spirit is strong." Mary ann said trying to get this through the young man's head.

David looked up at lanie and then hugged her once he saw the tears in her eyes. " it's ok lanie, i'm scared to too. and really it's ok to cry." he said as a tear sliped down his own cheek.

Sylan leaned over till his head was resting on Mary Ann's shoulder. He didn't say a word, only closed his eyes imagining that for a moment she was his mom.

Mary Ann knew what it was like to lose a mother. she had lost her's at 13 years old. she went to live with an abusive father after that. she didnt talk much about those times. she was much older then Sylan too so it wasnt weird. she put an arm around him and held him for a moment.

Lanie sighed and hugged him back then weeled herself out of the room hoping to find Sylan. she did. but she saw her brother in a state she had never seen him in before. it looked like he had given up all hope and he was just excepting the fact that all was lost.

Sylan stood up and smiled, "Actually I was gonna head home ... I have to get up early tomorrow." he helped Mary Ann to her feet and thanked her again.

"Lanie are you ready to head back to your room?" He asked.

Corison curled on her side pulling the blankets up over her shoulder.

" until you want to go back to your room." he said. " and until i want to go home" David was basicly saying that you'll go to your room when i leave. he smiled a big brother smile at her.

Lanie nodded. " ok." she looked at Sylan. " would you tell the nurse what the plan is?" she asked.
