Portia watched Will and Jack sadly, as they started saying their goodbyes. "I will miss you two." She said softly and then took a deep breath.
Just then, she noticed the natives started to head toward them with their spears. Her eyes widened and she quickly got up. "You need ta run... NOW!" She yelled to them and then gave Will the doll. She pushed them both quickly and started running with them until she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. She slowly looked down and there was a spear going all the way through her. Her eyes widened and she swallowed hard.
She slowly looked up to Jack and Will and stared at them, with blood trickling out of the corner of her mouth. She collapsed to her knees and started breathing heavily.

Jack spun around, and was frozen. His eyes only focused on her body that had crumbled to the floor like a ball of paper to the trash.
Distressed, scared, worried, Captain Jack didn't make a move. The dark brown eyes lined with black kohl shifted, but remained staring. . .

"Jack come on!" Will said as he began to move away from Portia. However, as he tugged on the sleeve of Jack, it did not follow....
Seeing that Jack was focusing on something before him, Will turned to find Portia impaled and barely alive on the muddy jungle ground. Without hesitation, Will ran toward her, but as he did, his eyes caught site of the approaching and apparently angry natives.
Hesitating and shifting his feet nervously, Will did not know what to do. "Portia?!" he said in a raised voice.

Portia looked over Will and Jack's faces and felt tears reach her eyes. "Go..." She whispered. "Keep to tha code." She said and nodded to them. She felt her breathing become unsteady and she was feeling really cold.

Jack's mouth closed and his face had never shown so much stress before. Unsheathing his sword in a flash, the Captain ran straight for the Natives to seek his revenge.

Will's attention was drawn away from Portia as Jack dashed toward the natives, "No! Jack!" He leap after him and pulled him back, "Jack, keep to the code! She said to keep to the code!"
Continuously pulling him back, Will continued, "Don't be irrational at a time like this. We have to leave! Come on!"
Pushing Jack into the deep jungle, he looked back to Portia once more and saluted her. Turning to face the jungle, he followed after Jack as fast as he could.

Portia stared at Jack and Will leaving and then heard the Natives run toward her. She took a deep breath and slowly closed her eyes. She felt the pain in her stomach becoming worse by each passing second, so she slowly laid down on the ground.

Jack pushed himself to carry on, though a terrible yank in his heart was whispering for him to turn back.
This wasn't the first time Sparrow had left a fellow crewmember behind, he had kept to the code far too many times before. Though, leaving Portia behind just didn't sit right with him.
He was going to turn around. Run back to her. Save her, and be her handsome rescuer. Kill all them cursed natives, spear them to bits and then make way back to the Pearl.
Though, just as Sparrow went to turn, a sharp branch slapped him hard across the face. It snapped Jack out of the dancing daze and back to reality. Bug.ger it all.

Will continuously pushed Jack ahead of him, making sure that the captain never turned back....the code was the code...
Soon enough, they had made their way to the sandy beach and they had no choice but to make a swim for it. "Into the water!" Will shouted to Jack.

Portia watched as some of the Natives passed her to run after Will and Jack, but some stayed with her. She figured they would just use her as food for the whole tribe. She swallowed hard and felt tears reach her eyes as she watched the two men she had grown to love leave her. One as a brother and one as... more.
She was now shivering from being cold, due to lack of blood and she was starting to become numb from the pain. She just wished that she had a proper goodbye. A longer goodbye. Her vision started blurring, when she saw some of the Natives crowd around her dying body.

Following William into the ocean was Captain Jack. The water spat up into the air when he emereged, and swam after Will's fleeing shape.
