Well, I just downloaded GIMP for the third time and this time got past the download and look at all the buttons.
So I'd like to join, this time I'm determined to get to making stuff.
Edit:
Okay, next day, having a bit of trouble blending.
It doesn't seem to quite blend, it's more like just erasing bits, and there's still lots of distinction between pictures... help?

Yeah, I sorta find that too. I've been using a mix of smudge and blur and eraser but it doesn't work the greatest
And I'd like to join I'm a sort of aspiring GIMP user - I mostly do avvies just cause I like them

I figured out what I was doing wrong... it still doesn't do it too well.... but I had the wrong setting on the eraser.
The sig and avi I have right now I made. They're my best ones so far.

A tip for blending is to make sure that you've selected the "feather edges" option when you're selecting the part of the picture you want to use.
I talked about it a little bit HERE.

Thanks for the welcome! It's not my very first banner- I made a few while I had a Photoshop trial awhile back. lol I made it mostly by fiddling with effects, and hitting undo if I didn't like something. lol

^ Welcome!
Dark: My avies are awful. This Aslan one is the only one that's made it past being saved. I can't get text on stuff very well, it looks really bad usually.
