But don't the ladies want that as well? I want a man who'll stay with me through thick and thin and who'll stand up for me no matter what I do.

Actually, I've never really wanted a Darcy. I guess I prefer the Pete Parker type, someone who I can laugh with and who will be my best friend, but at the same time is very sweet and sensitive. It also wouldn't hurt if he has a geeky side
And, in case anyone was wondering, me and Joel are in a sort of casual, unofficial relationship.

I mean, I'm not a guy myself, so I don't know anything, but I think guys want to, when they find the special someone, to care for them, stand up for them when needed, basically fulfill the duty of a man for that woman. I'm not saying that girls don't want to do that for that special guy, but men and women are different in romance. I hope that makes sense, I'm not sure that I've fully got my point across, but hopefully, you understand what I mean?
Anyway, could I join this club, pretty please?
Welcome Sislical to theclub first of all. For your information, Men hate being romantic but they had to because they wanna keep the woman as long as possible by their side. When I date my first girl, I will be slightly romantic and uncaring because girls love mysterious men. I dunno if any of what I said above make sense

I also think it has something to do with the fact most people do not think males should be romantic.... and being romantic makes you less of a man.. at least that is what I think anyway, and there are various things that blokes do that aren't what most think of as "blokey" things, and some might suffer for this. *shrugs* My brother does cross stitch. So what?

Yes, that is very true. I think though, for the most part, it is men who seem to have a problem with other men doing things that you wouldn't expect males to be doing. It is probably why so many yound males who dance or take up some sort of hobby that is usually associated with girls, hide what they are doing for fear of being bullied.

Ok, this is an odd question I have currently.
Ok, I'm planning to ask a girl out (known her for a very long time) to see a movie but only as friends (if she wants to go as boy/girlfriends, then I will but that's what I going for). But I have no idea when to ask her or what to say to her. Kind of helpless there. So a bit of advice please?

No better time than to ask her today I say. The weekend is coming up when you'll both have the most free time, so there shouldn't be too many conflicts. If you've known her for a while, there's no reason she should say no. Just take a deep breath and ask in a casual manner whether she'd like to go. Don't mention anything about "going as friends" or whatever. The thought might not even cross her mind. Just wait and see how everything unfolds. Good luck!

^I don't think you'll find better advice than that!
However, it is always easier to give good advice and agree with it, than actually do it. Best of luck my friend.

Well.. that would've been helpful to know. At any rate, you can still take my advice and apply it in three weeks.
