(God, that stupid extra-page thing is annoying!)
"Good. Feel free to invite them as well. It is easier to conduct business in a comfortable environment," Morwen reasoned. "More is accomplished. In addition, I am bored. For heaven's sake, I just spent the last hour searching for a heat vent!" She turned and left, not waiting for her followers. It would just have to be a pleasant surprise to see who would come. All for the sake of entertainment, she thought.

Eston looked alittle forlorn when Morwen left Deawen rolled her eyes " go " she waved a goodbye and Eston dashed out the tent. Drad laughed and left the tent slowly but headed towards the horse herds. Deawen Saw Sen and Smiled " My Lord Sen what brings you here?" she asked, she looked over at the shang dragons who stood motionless " You may go now" Deawen said a bit awkwardly the two younger Shang Dragons left but not Liam he stood in a corner obvisoly with no intention of leaving... Deawen snorted softly Shang Dragons... she grumbled. She got up and poured two goblets of cider, she handed Sen one with a warm smile. She took a sip of her drink cider wasn't something she was accustom to apple trees did not grow well in Rohan she liked the spiced taste but the apple flavor was alittle hard for her to get over.

Eston joined Morwen in her tent, along with a few petty officers and other banner carriers. She smiled at Eston, "I always pegged you as one who is secretly fond of comfort." He mumbeld something uncomfortably and found himself a seat. "Well, if anyone is sick of jerky and stale bread, I've made some soup and fresh bread." Several eyes grew wide as she tossed pieces of the steaming glory to each man. "Masticate!" They all complied. "So, does anyone have any advise for a rookie banner-carrier?" she asked. She gathered from around half-chewed clumps of bread to wear as much armour as possible and stay with the banner-guard. Easier said than done, she thought to herself, felling the tight bandages around her ribs. "Easy." she said aloud.

What morwen Learned was far better than anything Deawen could advise. Being the Leader she was always protected in battle of she moved everything shifted to accomadated. one of the petty officers gave a toast to Morwen of long life and no fear in battle everyone joined in the toast.

*Sen accepted the cider gratefully. As he took a deep gulp, he smiled inwardly; the little reminders of home... It faded, as he spoke to Deawen.*
My men know what they must do. I have drawn up our formations, and some suggestions for yours. Also, I have just recieved these locations for your catapults. All these are for your scrutiny, and change as you deem necessary.
*He set the papers down on the table, and looked Deawen in her eyes.*
The Storm will not break, my lady. We will stand to the last man. There will be a tomorrow for Middle Earth, and for us.

Deawen's face was unreadible as she leafed through the papers, everything seemed to be in order. the catapults were to be placed high up in the ridge on either side. Deawen sighed " the Phantoms cannot fight on horseback here" she pointed to a paper that explained when Deawen should ride forward with her horsemen. " the horses would be skeward before the rider could even apply damage..." she explained in her usual soft voice when she was thinking outloud. " Instead I think we should just let the enemy batter against us tire them out then send my horsemen when it thins or as they retreat...""providing they retreat at somepoint" she thought to herself.
" I do not doubt the Storms ability to withstand I only doubt The storm's leader the Great Sen to see beyond darkness and vengance if I should fall or that I will not lose hope if anything should happen to the Great Sen" Deawen said her tone was light but serious.

After a while, Morwen had to drive the others from her tent. "Come back when the battle is won!" she jested, trying to make light of the dark feeling in the pit of her stomach. She took off her light armor and groaned. There seemed no way that she could wear her full suit with her ribs in this condition. She rewrapped herself after scratching all the itches the bandages caused, and gingerly put on her mail, cuirass, vambraces, greaves, and gloves. So far, all it did was impede her movement (that is, after a considerable amount of stewed willow bark washed down by sweet mulled wine to mitigate the bitterness.) Dressing had made her tired and the wine made her dizzy. She sat down and finished the last crust of bread and tried to make herself breathe normally, waiting for the fateful fanfare that would call her to battle.

*Sen was silent for a second, before replying.*
Let us hope it does not come to that. There are going to be dark times ahead, Deawen, dark times. That is what we are here for; to keep the faint light burning. Though there will be vengance to be had this day, Deawen, I will be sure to not let it cloud my mind. Come, ready your men. The hour approaches.

Deawen Bowed letting Sen exit the tent.
Eston entered the tent shortly afterward. " Ready the men" Deawen commanded softly. Deawen stood infront of her mirror she gazed cooly back at the reflection. Hilam brought her armor newly fashoined and polished the hard leather gleaming and the silver glinted. Her black gown underneath flowed casualy to the ground then covered by the undershirt then the padding second undershirt then the armor. Followed by the the shoulder plates then the sheer cloak her helm came last.
the Phantoms readied shoeing horse with spiked shoes to give traction. Horses were decorated with fancy breastcollars and headstalls. the Men were dressed as if they served under regal command. Deawen sat in her saddle quietly. observing her men esemble behind the Storm. Liam stood nearby along with the ten bodyguards that surrounded Deawen.

Morwen took her place at the head of one of the cavalry flanks, holding her standard steady with one hand and keeping Breda in line with the other. A foul, warm breeze swept through the canyon, bringing with it the stench of fire and decay. She whispered a word of comfort to Breda and loosened the strap holding her sword in its sheat. She whispered an old charm to her left side where her sword hung: "May your foibles be few and your fortes be many. Foes that you slew, few wounds you've let pass, if any. Never have you failed me, and you will not fail me now." she rested her free hand on it and waited for commands.

Deawen relaxed her mind bringing down her barriers to her mind slightly
" Are you ready?" Deawen asked using the mind speech her voice was diffirent in the mind it was softer and light. Bredol snorted and tossed his head. Deawen calmly sat in the saddle.

*Sen took his place just behind the row Storm warriors with shields. He hand none, so he was to be one of the lightning strikers when the shield wall went down; it was by design, not by defeat, that the shields will fall; crushing the first few goblins and allowing them to charge out before they would be picked up again. They would hold, as would the Storm. Suddenly, a warrior appeared by his side.*
They come, Captain. Fifteen minutes.
*Sen nodded, and then called out to the assembled company.*
Warriors, they come close. Steel your hearts, and steel your minds, and drive the steel in your hands home true. Storm, form the wall.
*With a resounding thunder, a hundred shields, streching from cliff to cliff, hooked together, and were driven into the ground. The wall was set, and now, they would wait...*

THe Phantoms horses stamped and joined Bredol. Deawen seemed of stone even though this was what she lived for she felt a dread that oppressed. the fifthteen minutes passed like ages. she turned to her phantoms and gave an encouraging smile.

*The ground began to shake, as thousands of footseps drew closer. The first few orcs rounded the corner of the cliffs, and a wave of yells and shouts were passed back through their ranks, until the rocks shook with their screams. They began to run at the wall, fury in their eyes. Maleon was not to be seen; no doubt leading from the back, until the most devious time to strike. Sen held up his hand, and the Storm behind him raised their longbows, and larger, two-man crossbows.*
Give them something to shout about! Trumpets!
*A thunder rolled across the orcs, a ringing trumpet blast from all the Storm that were spare. Sen dropped his hand in that deafening noise, and shouted fire, though none could, or needed to, hear it. Bolts and arrows were sent soaring over the wall, and into the advancing orcs. Not at their front rows, but at the rows further back; it was all part of the plan...*

Deawen sighed calming her nerves she had no idea when to begin her own attack... but it did not take long for her to find an opening she reached inside herself pulling on her gift to rise. it rose slowly till it reached her fingertips she extended her hand to the back ranks of the orcs. Fire Sprang from the ground cutting off the orcs retreat. she let the fire grow till she felt the thin line of control waver slightly she felt a pounding in her head as if someone was trying to enter her mind with a chisel. she ignored it and kept the fire going.

At the front of her column, Morwen tried to hold the standard steady as Breda tried to move. The shouts of the Storm were getting him excited. Morwen felt the disturbing rage that always rose as the enemy approached. It took all of her self control not to charge ahead and lead her men into the frey. She waited for the signal from Deawen.
