I probably don't belong in here...I only saw him in Sense and Sensibility, and I have to say I don't care for his voice. But other than that, I'm a fan. He was very fascinating and *can't think of the right word* as Colonel Brandon. :bye2:

I haven't seen that many either Inwe. *pat pat*

@ ~Miriel~ - Wow. You're like the only person I've ever heard say they like AR yet they don't like his if-melted-chocolate-had-a-sound-that-would-be-it voice.

The other word you may be looking for is... sexy? :D :D

Erm...well...that...might...be...a...valid...word...yes. :P

Okay, I was a bit hasty. I barely remember his voice now, I saw the movie a few months back. Maybe if I watched it again... *shrugs*

I definitely suggest watching more of his other movies. He's in so many interesting roles that I'm sure you'll find one you really like. :)

Hehe...I saw Alan Rickman in Galaxy Quest, he was hillarious! I've also seen him in Sense and Sensibility, I guess, but I haven't seen the movie in quite some time and only recently realized he was in it. :teehee:

He's really great! Though it seems he gets a lot of roles of unnapreciated characters.

Although he's going to have to do something uber-nifty to top Colonel Brandon. :D

Okay, what are the ratings and/or reviews of his best movies? Because I might not even be allowed to... :( :bounce:

Oh my. You've seen so much of his movies. I've seen like...four? Or mabay five (Harry Potters I count as one even though I have all four of them). I don't even recognize all those movies  Perhaps it's because they might have different names here in Finland. And perhaps we haven't got some of them here at all. Not fair :annoyed:

Well, it's a bunch of love stories all mushed together, so naturally it's going to get a higher rating. I believe it has a 15 rating over here in the UK.. though I wouldn't know since I haven't actually seen it.

Well most of his films do have high-ish ratings. Mostly 12's and 15's. Die Hard is an 18 and is probably the higest rating, mainly thanks to Bruce Willis' character swearing every 15 seconds. I only got to see that a few years ago because all the swear words were edited out by my brother on my mum's orders. If I wanted to watch it now, that would still happen. *not happy*

I think Love Actually is a 12 or a 15, I'm not sure. I've seen some clips of it on the internet, so I wouldn't say it was for youngsters. I've also (sneakily) looked at the script book my brother bought and it does have swearing in it and adult situations.

I would say the best films to go for are Sense and Sensibiltiy (which it looks like we have all seen), Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Galaxy Quest and Truly, Madly, Deeply. Oh, and Harry Potter if you can avoid trying to climb through your TV to deck Emma Watson, Daniel Ratface and Rupert the Bear. :eyeroll:

[Ok, maybe I'm being a bit evil there but who wants to be good all the time?]

*agrees* Those are the best I would say. Maybe Mesmer as well if you don't get bored by more historical peices. :P It's unrated, but the worst that happens is a bit of smooching between AR's character and the main girl. Nothing bad at all, and it's quite an interesting story.
