There was a tumbling noise coming from one side of the decorated Ballroom, and everyone looked off to see Kit lifting herself off the floor, dusting off her soft blue kimono.

"I really can't afford to damage this thing," she grumbled, and turned to face the guests.

"WELCOME, dear guests! I hope your trip was safe and your arrival pleasant. Thank you, FRODOFAN for directing guests here and I am glad you could make it yourself. Some of the mods are around the house trying to knock in some nails to make sure the house doesn't crumble. It is rather old, you see." Kit beamed with the largest of grins.

She turned to the butler and the maid, "Yusef. Illyna. If you two could please grab all our guests belongings to their designated lodgings---you all will be able to pick your rooms of course, so please feel free to tell them where you would like to sleep. Unfortunately we only have a few rooms opened up and <i>safe</i> to sleep in so some of you may have to bunk together."

Kit winced as another thunderbolt slashed through the open air, "On the table by the doorway are pamphlets about upcoming events and what days they will be held, attached is also a handy map of the house so please feel free to grab those. Several desert and treat dishes are laid out along the far wall. Help yourself, but please don't stuff yourself too much. We would like to keep our floors vomit-free and there will be supper every night at 8 pm.

"I know the place is very big, so if you would like to leave your things in the care of Yusef and Illyna, you may go off and explore. Rooms are upstairs, the way can found directly across from the Ballroom entry.

"All right, enjoy yourselves, the dinner bell will ring to gather you in the dining room. Good evening!" Waving away, and tripping over the red-stained carpet, she left the Ballroom in the direction of loud knocking.

"You already bit me, remember?" said Melda, taking a piece of toffee and examining it curiously. "Yesterday. I don't think being bitten works twice. In which case I can still poke you."

Several strange expressions followed, ostensibly from eating the toffee, and when speaking was next possible, she added, "I think I'm growing fangs. Sort of cool, to be a vampire kitty. You can't really tell, though." And you couldn't. To be sure, most kitties didn't wear black capes, especially not ones that looked like they'd been stolen from a Batman costume; but this was not most kitties. It was a Melda kitty.

The loud knocking at the door was in fact one Lieutenant Kara Thrace, who was getting fed up of knocking and was about to consider other options of entrance. She had, however, heard Kit's announcement - the acoustics of the house were very good, whatever else could be said about the ramshackle mansion. Bunking up with someone would be no problem - in fact, it would be strange not to.

"It's about time," she greeted as Kit opened the door, and beelined past her for the crowd - and especially the drinks table.

A brief search revealed nothing resembling ambroisia or Virgon; the punch would have to do. It was disappointingly non-alcoholic, but at least it was sweet.

Eyeing the guests over the rim of her cup, she wondered what exactly she'd gotten herself into.

As the great doors creak open yet again, a great clap of thunder shakes the entirety of the house. In the flash of the lightening, a tall, slender figure of a woman is illuminated.
She eerily glides into the house, and the doors slam shut just as another clap of thunder rattles the house.

Dressed as if she's walked straight out 1920s Chicago, she turns to the butler, and in a quiet, sultry voice "Forgive my lateness. The storm delayed my trip. My belongings are in the car outside. And please inform Ms. Kit that Madame Bohemian has arrived."

And without another word, MB slinks into the ballroom, headed straight for the refreshments.

"Yes," she said to the servants. "You better get those suitcases of mine out of the way. Another accident just waiting to happen."

Still sipping the punch Will had so graciously handed her, Eä watched the arrival of the the other guests from a corner of the room. The black pointy hat had obviously settled under the weight of Ellie's charm and she now appeared almost human in her black skirt reaching down to the upper edge of her light leather boots. The black top strewn with tiny diamond stones forming a starry constellation... or a spider in its web, depending on how she moved around.

Well, people-watching was getting old, and fast, and Starbuck didn't deal too well with boredom. Approaching the vampire-fanged, black-cloaked feline (heh, that's Melda), she observed, "You look vaguely familiar. In fact, I think I told you I was going to be here ..."

Rushing upstairs after the maid she took a quick look into each room. She did not plan on settling in, knowing she had buisness out of town to attend to the next two days and had to leave for it soon.
Eventually, a cry of excitement escaped her lips as she found what she had been looking for; the master bedroom. Grinning widely she tackled the soft covers of the bed, pleased how it softly moved under her weight and starting jumping wildly between the pillows.

Kit comes back into the Ballroom pulling a rather heavy box. "Would anyone like to help me put this pinata up in this corner here? This is for the final day but I can't get it up by myself any other time."

Kit opened the cardboard box and rolled out a rather large, fattened version of a frilly Dolores Umbridge.

Over at the refreshment table, MB eyes everything suspiciously. After sampling every drink on the table, she finally settles on a sparkling cider.

She nearly drops her glass when Elli approaches her. Completely consumed by the refreshments, she had been completely oblivious to approaching people. She manages to hold on to her glass and avoid major spillage all over everything. She was still a bit rattled, and she had to hold on to her glass with both hands, to hide the fact that she was shaking.

To herself, she starts muttering about how she needs to calm down.

She turns to Ellie, and with a nervous giggle, and greets him. "Well HELLO, Mr. Ellie! Thank you. It's so great to see you here! How've you been? And WHAT do you think of these people and their costumes? It's almost overwhelming."

She had to tell herself to stop rambling...smiled at Ellie and took a giant swig of her cider, with her hand in her pocket desperatley searching for the flask she could've sworn she brought.

Something flashed in Starbuck's brain and she swung round - ah, there. The elegant woman, with an aura of sophistication, was ...

Yeah. There was no mistaking that action. She was reaching for a hip flask. Starbuck was beside her faster than a hyperspace jump. "Hey," she greeted. "Some party, huh? Still," she raised an eyebrow and grinned, "some elements are slightly lacking."

A scent from her left - definitely something drinkable. She dunked her empty punch cup in Ellie's rum barrel, adding, "How's life, Ellie?"

As Eä most predictably lost her breath pretty soon, she dragged herself down the hall towards the stairs to the main room. Hearing Kitoky's voice she hesitated a moment drawing back into the shadows, but then decided to go downstairs.
"Hey Kit... I'd love to help you, but you need muscles here and all I can do is look pretty. I will stay around and attract some handy males using my irresisible charm and provide you with every piece of mental support you can wish for."

"Oh dear, I am late," Mrs. Haldir muttered as she pushed opened the doors of the ballroom and stepped inside. She was dressed in a long black gown. She crossed her arms over her chest and saw that many guests had already arrived. She looked around at the decorated room. "Interesting," she said to herself and walked through the crowd. "Hello everyone," she greeted. "Sorry I am late."

"Tipsy?! HA! Hardly, my darling," said with an air of amusement.

At that moment, a woman appeared seemingly out of nowhere. After the shock of Ellie's appearance, the adrenaline still coursing through her veins had slightly prepared her for another startle. Although, she noticed Ellie seemed a bit startled.

She turned to the new woman, and nodded in agreement, "Indeed." After adding to her drink, she offered up the flask with a devilish smile.

She then noticed Kit, with what looked like some atrocious looking woman of a pinata and just stared. Her devilish smile fading into a look of confusion.

Tiring in her jaw at the difficult task it was to keep what she believed to be a charming smile, Eä finally gave up. "Why do you need to get it upstairs, Kit? Look how she just ... ehh.. conquesr the room right where she is now." She poked the womanish figure tentatively and made a face.
