Hello good people! I am Guard of the Citadel or GotC, as I am commonly known. A little bit about myself...well, I'm ashamed to admit that I became a fan of Mr. Tolkien's great work when FOTR came out. My husband had the books for years but I had no idea what it was about. When the film came out, I was blown away. I immediately began reading (first The Hobbit before the triology), so by the time ROTK was released, I felt like I was the only person in the world who didn't know what was going to happen! (I hadn't gotten that far in the books yet!) But I don't cheat when I read, so I waited with anticipation that night as I watched the film to see how it would all end. And cried like a baby! To date, I've read the triology 7 times. I'm currently reading The Hobbit for the 2nd time. I've attended borth ORC's; the 2nd I was even convinced by my good buddy to attend in costume as.....guess....Guard of the Citadel! So there you have it....that's who I am and my history with LOTR....my continuing love! This board looks overwhelming and I hope to enjoy it very much!

Wooow-you read the trilogy 7 times!This is more then I could till now  And yeah-I must say I cried as well at the end of RotK (both on book and movie).

I think you'll find that you'll definitely fit in here no matter what time you read the LotR trilogy. We have several people here who still haven't read it, but are very happy to be discussing the movies just as well! Anyway, I do hope you have fun here, and I hope I'll see you around!

Once again, my thanks to all for making me feel so welcome here! Yes, I do believe in reading a book or books over and over again. I find that I learn more the 2nd or 3rd or 4th, etc. time through. As I'm reading through your vast board, I'm finding that many of you have been readers since you were young; alas I cannot say that. However, I think I've done a fair job in the time that I've had.
I look forward to exploring your board more and I thank you for all of your offers of help. I may be taking you up on them in the near future!
