Elenriel hastened back to Airemelero's side and Sadron nodded slightly at her in greeting. As their eyes met, the elven warrior shook his head at her silent question, before stepping back and leaving the two friends alone. Kneeling beside the ranger, Elenriel took his hand in her own, trying to hide the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes. "Airemelero, be strong. Raelyn should be here soon." she whispered.

"Raelyn... Elenriel...", he coughed. "Do not mourn for me overmuch... this is a glad day and at last I will see them again...". He stared at the sky as if he had noticed something but only the grey clouds could be seen. Slowly a hint of orange turned them to colourful sights.

"The time", he coughed again and blood dyed his tunic red at his neck "the time... has come." From afar he could see now again the shores where his life had begun, the cliffs, the sand, and the sea-grey eyes of his mother and father. With some effort he spoke again: "I am going now beyond the circles of the world as is the gift of Eru Illúvatar to mortal men. Fare you well and give my greetings to master Tulmind", he looked at Raelyn "take care of him Mylady." He smiled.
The sun rose.

Still his gaze did not break and his eyes remained as clear as they had always been, yet grey and deep. One could think that he still lived but it was not so and his soul had departed from his body and never returned.

Elenriel put a hand to her lips and choked back a cry as silver tears fell from her eyes. Squeezing the lifeless hand of the ranger, memories of the short time they had spent together flooded her mind. She had followed him into the wild and in that short time she had known him, had grown to respect him. "Peace be upon you Astalder [valiant one]" she whispered , hoping that the spirit of the ranger could hear her from beyond. "For as long as songs ring through the Halls of Thranduil and Men endure upon this earth, never shall the sacrifice of a warrior who dared the darkness be forgotten. I know I never shall forget you mellon nîn-nor the battles we have shared. It was an honor to be your companion-even for such a short time." she whispered amid her tears.

Raelyn stood up and then put her hand softly upon Elenriel's sholder. " there is much we must do." she said with tears in her own eyes.
Raelyn looked around, for any sign of her beloved. but there was none.
she push Tulmind out of her head and looked at a dying soldier near by. she went over to him and touched her evenstar to his wound and it was healed. her parents had always told her that she would make a power so strong come from the evenstar that only she could unlock, she had found the power too.

Elenriel nodded solemnly and swiftly rose to her feet. We will return for you, mellon nîn and bury you with high honor she thought to herself, not liking the fact of just leaving his body on the ground. Yet at the same time, she knew Raelyn was right-others needed their care now. Gathering enough herbs she then quickly knelt beside a wounded warrior, her sapphire eyes gentle. "Easy, friend." she whispered as the man tried to rise. With that she crushed the herbs into a paste which she applied on the wound. She then chanted an elven incantation, feeling some of her power pass to the soldier, sealing the injury. "You will be fine," she said as she was about to rise only to have the soldier grab her hand.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"A daughter of Mirkwood and a friend to the Free People of Middle-earth." was her only reply as she gave his hand a gentle squeeze and then disappeared to help another.

Raelyn went along healing men and women most of their army would return to their homes.
Raelyn watched Elenriel. she thought about Tulmind and the love they had shared in such a short time..and now..he was lost forever.
for a brief moment she wondered what would happend next.
