This was such a brilliantly done movie by Disney... although it's weird to think of Giselle as a Disney Princess now. She doesn't seem to fit with the rest.

She doesn't...
But, then again, is she really a princess? Afterall, she never married the prince... But everyone's advertising her as the "first new Disney Princess in 10 years".

Yeah, well, I was looking at some Disney Princess toys, and some people also name Mulan a DP but she doesn't exactly fit the profile for a princess. So I'm not sure what the criteria is for a DP

My mom is obsessed with 'That's how you know" and she and my sister have been listening to the soundtrack alot.

And I may be going to see this again tonight *squee!*

This movie is so cute!!! It's a nice bit of fun fluff, especially if you saw all those older Disney Princess movies. Anyone catch all the references to Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Lady and the Tramp, and probably a couple others? It made me smile, and I even have guy friends who went to see it and loved it. :D

Yeah, I loved all the little bits that they put in from other movies. And though technically Giselle isn't a princess, they have other "Disney princesses" that aren't. But she almost was...I'm okay with it.

@Call: "I seek a beautiful maiden."
"Yeah, I'd like to find one of those too, ya know?"

and then when Nathaniel comes out and the workers are like, "Let me guess, you're looking for a princess too?"
"No, actually, I'm looking for the prince." HILarious they way they look at him.

It made me smile when Philip called Giselle "fair maiden" because that's what one of my guy friends calls me sometimes. But my favorite lines have to be:

"Did you just step out of a Hallmark card or something?"
"Is that a bad thing?"

good. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Giselle didn't really fit the Disney Princess category... but, as it's been pointed out, some of the others don't either... maybe it's the fact that she's not animated that makes it harder to think of her as a DP.

Nurr, ah, yes that was it! thanks!

actually the Disney Store had a cute Giselle throw I thought of getting just because... that is until I saw it was 40 dollars. (and it's not even like it was a nice, fluffy one either :erm:) Still I liked it because it was something different and fun. :teehee: and sometimes I like getting things like that, that defy what people think it "right" for a teen. :eyeroll:

Yeah, I know what you mean. My friend heard one girl at the theater saying, "Well, Enchanted was okay. But I'm a bit old for that now". Whatever! I liked it. :)

Here's a whole article on all the references (but I think there might have been a few more  :P). It's really amazing, actually.

that's really too bad. :erm: I mean you're never too old, in my book, for some good, old fashioned fun. :) It's not like it was that childish... I saw lots of teens there when we went. What is it with kids growing up (or at least thinking they have to) so fast nowdays anyway?

That's a great movie! I haven't liked most of the new disney movies but this one... Wow! Those little reffences from other disney movies were really cool! I liked the part where Giselle made those dresses! That was very funny! :laughbounce:
Amy Adams does such a good job. Without her, the movie couldn't have been so good!

I don't really know if Giselle would be considered a Disney princess. I mean, she wasn't ever a princess, was she? :confused2:

Ooh, thanks TT! That's really neat! Though apparently I'm the only one that saw the resemblance between Pip the chipmunk and Abu in Aladdin... :P

Hmph. Most of my friends (even some of my GUY friends :P) loved it. I personally am determined to be a bit like Peter Pan and never grow up all the way. Anyone care to join me? :teehee:

Ooh, now that you mention it, I can sort of see it... :P Actually, they their voices sound somewhat similair, and the way Pip was acting out Giselle was like Abu doing Jasmine. I can see it now! :-D

*Raises hand* I'm in. :teehee: Honestly, though, I don't know why this is labeled "a kid's movie". Like PD said, you're never too old for fun. But I guess soem people want to show how "grown up" they are by the movie's they like and dislike. I mean, I know people who won't watch animated movie's beacuse they think they're too old for them. Which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. But whatever! :) I like what I like, no matter what age it's meant for! :)

Well as a person on the brink of adulthood (blissful teenager *heavy sarcasm*), like I think most of us are... I dislike cartoons/animated films just because I generally think they're really boring. I love films with real people because I guess that makes them more realistic and better/easier to relate to. Most of my friends think that we're all too old to like things like 'Enchanted', but gosh... I LOVE the film to death :P

^*Shrugs* Well, I'm not quite at that stage yet (;)), so I wouldn't know. :teehee: But what I meant by animated was more the Pixar films... *Shrugs* I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not... And the "people" are two 13 year olds. :)

Oh, I know what you meant by animated :teehee: I was into those for a while, but I still think they're rather boring. Of course Shrek has GOT to be a huge exception... and various other good films... *chuckle*

Why do some 13-year olds think animated films/cartoons are childish? :P I know plenty of people in their 20's and 30's that still like watching those and hate watching violent films with real people... can't judge a person's maturity by the films they watch  :P
