As the Lady Deawen stepped out the door into the cold, Imlosiel inquired of Sen, "Please excuse me, my lord, but where will Halana, Anira and myself be bedding down tonight? I do not wish to sleep just yet, but I should like to know."

She collected the few belongings she had brought, her bow & quiver, her blanket roll, and sack filled with various other items, and while waiting for an answer from her host she turned to her companions and asked with a smile, "Since we will be journeying for quite some time together, do you suppose we should get to know one another?"

((Sorry about the one-liner before, I didn't want to interfer with his arrival. ^^;; Also, I'll be out of town until about Sunday afternoon. I'll be sure to check back as soon as I get home. Happy RP-ing!!))

" Eston " he replied courtously " my lord if I May I can show the guests their quarters " he said with a quick bow, normaly the lady of the house was given this task but Deawen never really liked being bound by traditions that placed her on a pedalstool. " if you will follow me " he said leading them out of the hall to a side corridor. The hallway walls were covered in tapastries depicting battles and great horses of every color.
" lady Deawen's family are horse breeders have been for seven generations supplying the Riders with the finest horses save for the Meras of course. " he explained to an unspoken question.
"Lady Imlosiel, This is your room " he said opening the door to the left he went inside with a torch and began to light some of the torches. the room was airy and warm as brazers had already been lit. The furniture was all rohirric make with carvings of animals and or battles.
he left the room and led onward
"lady Halana, this is your room " he did the same thing as the last room lighting torches.
"Lady Anira, this way please" he said leading her into a room like the others save for one thing this room had a huge rug that nearly spanned the whole room instead of fur. It was of Easterling make with intricate patterns and colors. The rug was part of a payment to Deawen for a stallion. " If you need anything just call " he said and left the room .

Anira followed Eston down the hall, admiring the beauty the tapestries that hung on the walls. "Magnificent." she murmured, noting their intricate design. She then continued down the hall until Eston stopped at the third room which was to be her quarters. She stepped lightly inside the room, at once noticing the Easterling rug that lined the floor.

"If you need anything just call," Eston had said before departing.

"Thank you," she had barely enough time to respond before the young man departed and she immediately glanced over the room impressed by homey feel of the room and the elegant craft of the furniture. Setting her weapons and the few items she had brought with her neatly on the side, she sat upon the bed, suddenly wondering what to do with the hours that seemed to loom ahead. She knew that sleep would not come easily at this time and sighed heavily at the thought. Her mind drifted to thoughts about Imlosiel and Halana, the two ladies whom she just met and would be her companions on the Quest. I wonder if now would be a good time to get to know them, she thought to herself, as she debated if 'visiting' would be such a good idea.

Imlosiel stood almost slack-jawed in her new quarters, she was certainley not accustomed to such fineries as these that now surrounded her. The bed frame was constructed of a beautiful dark cherry wood and the clean, plush blankets that lay atop it bade her to sleep, rest, forget her troubles.

It was hard to resist their siren call...

((Okay...my last post til Sunday. Don't wait up for me.))

Halana smiled. at the glory of the room. it reminded her a bit of home. she set her belongings down and turned to the other girls. " yes i do believe we should get to know one another. should we wait for the others?" she asked
she was very curious about these people. they seemed interesting enough, but she wanted to know where they had come from, their past.

"It's not that he wishes to deprive me of my adventures. He is more concerned, now that there is real commitment involved, that I stay above 98 degrees, so to speak," she said. "Besides, he really enjoys his friendship with the king. Plus," she added on a bit sheepishly, "It would be different if he were there." She kicked herself mentally. Now it sounds like you agreed to go, you fool!

"What if I went to King Eomer and ask that you and Eohric be assigned to this mission? Morwen, I need your help I never go on an adventure without you. The North is in trouble and it is spreading down here, locking the land in ice! what are we supposed to do with our herds if they have no grazing? Or farms without soil and permanate winter! " she said in a pleading tone. She heard footsteps outside and flinched.

(AAAHHH!!! I have found out that lightning storms can be bad; the phone lines were messed up for three days! Sorry, everyone!)
*Sen acknowledged Eston, and was greatful when he offered to show the others to their rooms. He did not want to throw Deawens-their household into disorganization, so he let Eston handle it. Once they were all away, he sat down in front of the fire, staring deeply into its flames. He wondered what this mission would have in store for them; they were both going to be out of their element, so to speak, even though where they were going was closer to his home than hers. He was reminded of a song from home, and softly began to sing it, alone to the flames.*

"No, no, Eohric wouldn't come. He is too happy with his closeness to the king. Plus, I don't want him to come with us. It is never as much fun!" Great, now you've made it sound like you agreed! she thought to herself. She saw Deawen flinch and looked over her shoulder. "Hael, Eohric. How was the meeting?" He had not seen Deawen yet. "It was the same as usual. Problems with the western reconstruction." He saw her. "What is she doing here, Morwen?" It was Morwen's turn to flinch. "She's here for dinner. She also has a...holiday planned. To the northlands. She can tell you about it." Morwen motioned for Deawen to follow her to the dinning room. The cook always made enough for about 10 people to eat their fill. They sat and a hand maiden set out bread for the first course.

Deawen gave Morwen such a glare it threatened to kill, if looks could do such. Deawen gave no greeting to Eohric save for the slight nod of her head and fake pleasant smile " yes a holiday..in the north..." she echoed as she sat down across from Morwen. " I just got back this morning from the east you should see the rug I brought back, Morwen it's quite a masterpiece"
Deawen on the exterior was calm but inside she was screaming there was far too much to be done for her to sit here exchanging fimilarities and small talk! Supplies needed to be checked, her house had to be secure, horses shod, plans made, messengers sent the list was endless. But Deawen kept a calm and pleasant face, years of practice in the Royal court had it's uses.

Morwen could tell Deawen was anxious to get on with it. "The only problem, dearam. I need to be packed and gone by tomorrow morning," she said gently. While he choked on his bread, Morwen gave a wink to Deawen. Dinner passed in silence. She prefered it this way. It went faster. When her husband finished, he left the table. Morwen motioned for Deawen to go. She nodded for the handmaiden to clear the table and went to talk to Eohric. She opened the door to his separate study. He heard her enter and said, "I'm not stupid, you know. What is the crisis now?" Morwen sighed and explained as far as she knew. He listened silently until the end. "Well, if you really need to do this, if you were willing to lie about it, then you should go. Just keep in touch. Write the occasional letter." Morwen kissed him and bounded off to pack. Two hours later, she found herself at Deawen's door, trying to control the urge to knock until the door fell down.

(Morwen If you ever get married, heaven help your husband if I ever decide to have an adventure :laughbounce: )

Deawen nearly dashed out of of Morwen's house expecting the rafters to come down at Eohric's wrath. Had she been single, Deawen would have thought him overprotective, arrogant and possibly vain, but she was married and understood his protectiveness.
when Deawen reached her home she used the same side door as before entering the great hall with no ceremony. She found Sen sitting alone by the fire singing to himself she pulled her chair closer to his and sat down with a sigh. " Sen, " she whispered wrapping her arms around his arm then leaned against him " why do you sing to flames? I do not regonise this song " she said. " I just came from Morwen's, Eohric's in one of his moods again, you know one of those awkward silences that follow a simple but startling statement. "
the pounding on the door made her jump slightly, the same servant that had opened the door last time appeared and opened the door. When Deawen saw it was Morwen she gave a laughed that echoed in the large hall " Morwen You made It!" she laughed as she stood " I was starting to wonder if you would ever see the light of day Again!"
the servant took Morwen bags and waited patiantly, Eston appeared from some corner to see what the fuss was about. Deawen led the way to Morwen's room, " we will have a meeting this evening to give you an idea of what we are facing" she explained. " eston go and find out what the cook is doing " she ordered Eston bowed and left.
When he returned and reported that supper was ready she told him to fetch the others.

Whilst awaiting the return of her hostess, Imlosiel busied herself with unpacking the few things she would need for the short time before they set off for the frigid North.

As she was considering whether or not to extricate herslef from her own thoughts and go out into the great room and be sociable, a loud, almost joyous chorus of voices echoed out across the home. "Well," she thinks, "I guess that makes my decision." And with one last surveying glance across her quarters, she rushed to see who had arrived.

Eston found Imlosiel first " You are requested in the great hall mylady " he said upon reaching her. he bowed and continued to follow the corridor till he came to the other rooms knocking on the door closest to him.

"Excellent! But, what's for dinner?" she asked jokingly. "I think all I ate was bread." She tossed down her pack and sat in a chair to relace her boots. She had been in such a rush, she practically was wearing them backwards.

A knock on the door suddenly broke into Anira's thoughts and she looked up partially in surprise. Crossing lightly across the rug and over to the door, she opened it to find Eston outside. "Eston," she said his name in greeting and waited for him to speak.
