Elizabeth tossed her head, barely managing to fight back the urge to cry again. "Thank you," she said softly. "I appreciate your words." She didn't miss the look Alex had given Jack as the other woman had finished her sentence, and she had a feeling that it had something to do with the very subject of love. Perhaps I'd better not say anything, she thought. It'd be a bit awkward for them both if I were to press Alex about her feelings for Jack. Regaining her composure, she added, "Perhaps I'll come with you, for a while. There's nothing much to do on this island except think, and i'm tired of that. Where are you lot going, anyway?"

Edward’s gaze remained fixed on Norrington, but he said to Kayala, “Some conflicts between old enemies.” He paused, trying to hold his laughter as he watched the death glare the ex-commodore gave him. “A shame I’m already dead, isn’t it, Admiral? Or else ye could have the chance to strangle me or shoot me full of holes. Ye’d like that, wouldn’t ye?” Now he stared at James with cold green eyes.

Vari carefully looked Elizabeth over. This girl looked extremely familiar and she had heard the name before… perhaps a past acquaintance? So now they had this girl, why were they tarrying?

“Well, I was real and you were too…” Rich said. To tell the truth, he hadn’t given much thought to this since there had been no one around to discuss it with. “My name is Richard Chandler and last I checked I wasn’t an illusion.”

Kayala frowned,"Ah. That's interesting." She looked rather worried as she caught the death glares between the two,"Can't we just get along? Please? I don't want any fights happening at this point in time."

James had almost opened his mouth to respond to Kayala when he heard that other man, that Edward's voice pipe up instead. He took great measures to control and calm himself. "yes." he replied coldly to Edward. Whether it was to the first question or the second it didn't matter. James had just about had it with this man. Jack Sparrow almost looked welcoming compared to him. He glared, unmoving, at Edward. How he wish this man could get what every pirate deserved. Although, James supposed he already had in a way. When Kayala tried to calm them down and restore the peace, he hardly paid her any mind.

Carmon remained where she was. Suddenly it dawned on her, Elizabeth... Will... Will Turner? She couldn't believe she had been so stupid! "Elizabeth?" she gave the woman an ernest searching look. "Elizabeth from Port Royal? And..." she paused as a new horror struck her. "you married Will after all? He's... dead?" Carmon's eyes grew wide and she prayed this was a different girl or something. Although she had heard the tail end of her story. This had to be the Elizabeth she knew from several years ago.
(just in case you missed it, Anie, in KAWEOTH Carmon and Will were friends )

Cole gave Rich a smile and chuckled. He was surprised in such a grave circumstance that it was possible to smile or laugh, but he did both. "that's good to hear, Richard." but all too soon the serious memories of the past re-took him and he looked back to the "ocean" and sighed.

The hot sun had been burning Beckett for what seemed to be hours. He had taken off his over-coat and was now carrying it draped over one arm. All his clothes were far too heavy and hot for this kind of weather, but what else could he do? He wiped his brow and wondered how much cooler he'd be if he removed his wig. no, not yet, he thought. Instead he trudged onward with only is coat off. Soon he thought he heard water crashing against land. He quickened his pace as much as his poor, sore feet would allow before he had finally gotten over the hill of sand and was looking out at the ocean. A tired, but pleased, smile crossed his face and he hurried down the sand dune never once noticing the two figures of Rich and Cole standing there.
(sorry, Ara, I wanted to speed up their meeting.  hope you're cool with it)

"Friends," agreed Elizabeth, shaking Alex's hand slowly. It had been a while since she'd gone through such civil greetings...recently she'd become more used to having a gun pulled on her than a hand extended to her. Then she turned to the newcomer with a wary glance. "Yes...I'm Elizabeth from Port Royal," she said slowly. "Elizabeth Swann is probably what I'm still known by there. Not many know about my...husband..." She trailed off and suddenly realized what the other woman's last words had been. "He's not dead!" she barked. "He's just - not able to come to me right now. But he'll be back - he promised! And he always keeps his word," she ended stubbornly. "What concern are we to you, anyhow?" The words came out sharper than she expected, but she really couldn't help it - talking about Will was still too painful.

Kayala now looked very afraid, this isn't good...this isn't good at all... Her voice started to crack as she said," please!!!! Can't we just get along?!?!" Tears started to run down her cheeks.

Jack stared out over the water at his ship, watching it carefully, in case, Barbossa decided to sail off with it again. He took out his compass and looked at it. The hand spun around three times and pointed somewhere behind him. He turned around and found that it was pointing towards Alex. Jack snapped it shut and put it away, turning back towards the water.

Alex beamed at Elizabeth. "Great." She glanced at Carmon, and then at Jack.
She wandered over towards Jack. "So where are we headed then, captain?" There was a slightly flirtatious tone to her words.

Jack jumped a little,"What?" He looked at Alex,"Oh." He took out his compass again, but it kept pointing towards Alex. Jack shoke it several times, muttering,"Stupid Compass.... Won't show me what I want most."

Alex resisted the urge to gasp. Perhaps there was a chance that he returned her feelings? "Well that's...irritating," said Alex. Don't get your hopes up, Alex, she cautioned herself. This may prove to be nothing at all.

“I thought as much.” Edward glanced briefly in surprise at Kayala, who had burst out almost unexpectedly. Studying her for a few moments, he replied, “We’ll get along fine, Kayala.” Glaring at James with cold eyes, he rested his hand on the hilt of his sword, mainly just for effect. Not like it would do any good down here anyway…

Richard glanced into the distance; to tell the truth there really wasn’t much to look at, but there was nothing better to do around this place. “So,” he said, cracking his knuckles, “how’d ye die, if ye don’t mind sayin’?” Suddenly out of the corner of his eye, he caught another figure pretty far away making its way down the sandy hills. “Oi! You there!” He called, not realizing that it would be a terrible mistake.

Vari grimaced when Elizabeth started to speak with an untrusting tone. She had met this girl before and even though they weren’t extremely close, she knew that everyone had better get out of Elizabeth’s way when the woman’s temper was raised. “Lizzy, calm down, dearie.” Vari softly said, placing a hand on Elizabeth’s shoulder. There was no need for fighting - it would only waste time and energy and they had a large adventure already awaiting them.

Carmon was taken a little aback by Elizabeth's sharp reply and she gave Vari a small smile as the other woman tried to calm Elizabeth down. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it the wrong way..... but, you see, Will was my friend from Port Royal. We were fairly good friends too." she paused and thought for a moment, "wait, Will is alive?" a smile spread across her face. "but where is he? How come he isn't here with you?" she didn't mean to upset Elizabeth in any way, Carmon was simply overjoyed to hear that Will was actually alive.

James was surprised by Kayala's sudden burst as well. he moved a little closer to her, but kept his eyes on Edward and said, "yes, you don’t need to worry about us. We'll be just fine." Edward's glare was returned. James tried to force a fake smile, although it didn't come out quite right. He might not have a sword to fight back with, but he still had his pistol.

Cole turned back to Richard and his face was thoughtful for a few moments, "I'm not exactly sure I remember it all. It was dark, my sister, Carmon, was there, and it seems like someone stabbed me... or shot me." Cole gave a slight shudder as a few memories of it fleeted through his mind. But soon, yet again, he was diverted by Richard's call. He turned to see what the man was looking at. There on one of the sand hills not too far away was yet another being.

Beckett had been carefully making his way down the sand hill when he heard a voice. In the dead air it was barely audible. He looked up and, for the first time, spotted two people standing on the beach not far from him. He still couldn't see them very well, so he stayed where he was and examined the situation before he moved forward. This was a strange land and he wasn't about ready to get caught up with whoever or whatever was down here.

Kayala shook her head and said shrilly, "Then!!! Edward Why do you glare so angrily at him if everything's going to be fine and we're all going to get along?" She glanced at James and took a step closer to him as well.

Jack flashed a smile at Alex,"Yes Alex. Very....irritating." He opened his compass again, shut it and then shoke it all over again. The captain looked at Alex again, very irritated now. He then turned around,"Oi!!! You!!!" Jack pointed at elizabeth and stumbled up to her, compass in hand. He took her hand and placed in the compass in it,"What do you want most love?"

Vari listened to Carmon interrogate Elizabeth - she wasn’t sure how Elizabeth would feel about it after that little outburst, but if it got the pain out then it did a lot of good.

“Aye, I’m certain of that,” Edward said, wanting to get the last word of their argument in. “Besides, shouldn’t we be trying to find a way out of this h*llhole?” He watched James carefully, not taking his hand off the sword. It just might come in handy at some point.

Richard cursed aloud as he recognized the figure moving towards Cole and him. “Oh, bloody…” It was none other than Lord Cutler Beckett, the very man that had sent him here in the first place. Well, not like he can kill me if I’m already dead… Richard mused.
