Iris stared up at Adrain. Yes, her brother was not dead, but, on the other hand, he really should have been. Sighing a sigh of "fine I'll move on", Iris introduced herself to be Iris and blurted out Fisco's name for Adrain before Fisco made a fool of himself all over again.

Paloc, readying his horse, watched Arruina curiously as she brought a crystal from her pocket, then dropped it.

"You...you have a crystal too?" Aryion said.

"Wait- you both have crystals?" Paloc asked. "Where-" He cut the words off suddenly, as he felt a sharp pain against his chest. Yanking his leather vest back from his side, he reached into an inner pocket and gingerly pulled out a crystal of his own. It was glowing with a silver light, like Arruina's.

Wrapping his right hand in his cloak, Paloc dropped the crystal into the cloth and studied it curiously. "I can't say I've ever seen it do that before." He said.

"Hang on," Vertha said. "I've got one, too." She decided to not mention the fact that she stole it from an assassinated demon lord. "I wonder what this is for."

Arruina stared at the crystal, a curiosity in her eyes. She picked it up with her middle and forefinger, the other two fingers covered with her special archer gloves.
"That's interesting. Then, this really must be a Soul Crystal like I thought. I've heard rumors of them, but wasn't sure. They say these are the only things that can stop the dragon," and as she said this, she felt the fire of hatred in her become more feirce, but felt something else inside. Hope. She hadn't had that in a long time...

"Soul Crystals?" Paloc said. He had heard of the crystals, in threads running through legends and stories, but thought that was where it ended- a tale and nothing more. It <i>was</i> strange though, to think that four people, each with a crystal had met by sheer accident. Could this be more than just coincidence?

He was somewhat surprised that he still even had his crystal. Finding it in the woods near his home one day, Paloc had nearly tossed it aside, but something had stopped him- some thought, or idea that he should keep it. He had put it in a pocket and all but forgotten about it until now. Very strange indeed...

(OOC: I am so sorry that I have not been adding to this thread. I had been traveling back home and then Christmas had come as I came back here. I am hoping you would allow me to move back to where you all are though that would require work. I had seen the role play last night and I have begun to write a catch up post. It should be done by tomorrow if that is all right with you.)

Arruina looked up at Paloc, and nodded. Then she knitted her brow, and glanced down at her crystal, then at Paloc's. Then at Vertha and Aryion's crystals, or at them if she couldn't see their crystal. Why weren't theirs glowing and getting hot? Though, the crystals did seem like two halves of a whole... Arruina shook her head. They didn't have time for this. Or so Larkus the vampire had reminded them.

"Well, can we worry about this after we get to Leslia? I think we should get going before dark. The Hunters are dead, and when that is known, this forest will be crawling with demons soon enough," she said, and pulled a blanket from a saddlebag. This she wrapped around the crystal, and placed it back from where she had gotten it from...

Arwyn smiled at the two hobbits. "I'm Arwyn and this is Vehiron and Thalion," she said with a gesture to the wolf and hawk in turn. "Tell us, what brings you out into the wild?" she asked.

Paloc nodded in agreement with Arruina. The last thing he wanted was to be caught in a forest, surrounded by demons. His crystal was still hot, so he put it in his saddlebag, then mounted. "I'm ready."

(OOC: Thank you. And I hope this is all right!)

Aden had seen the characters that he had seen on Sakura on the animal as she had bounded by him and attacked the creatures in the clearing. He had seen the animal tear at one of them but had been attacked by the others as she did so. He then took his long blade from his back and cleaved the legs of one of the attackers off. It had been a battle in and of itself to weave through the arrows and ammunition of those that they had come to help.

As Aden fought off the foul creatures, they fled before him and a company could be heard coming to the clearing. The back of the lion bristled as they approached but as they appeared to be associates of one of the humans she changed back to her human form. As they seemed to be speaking among themselves, Aden took to helping to bury the humans that had fallen. He had promised himself he would do this for he had not done so with her, which was a decision that had troubled him.

As soon as the humans had been buried he heard talk of horses to be obtained at a tower near by. The both of them followed the company to the tower and as Aden came to the stall he took one of the horses. He took note that Sakura did not do so for herself. He had thought that they should separate from the company as soon as he had his horse, but as he had seen that a number of them had crystals themselves his thoughts on that had changed. He too had one of these crystals and had heard that they alone held the ability to defeat the dragon. It had been in the hopes of finding companions who carried these crystals that he had traveled for so long and far.

Turning to the vampire and speaking for the first time Aden asked, "May I accompany you and your company to Leslia?"

"Sure," Vertha reassured them. "We can ask Father, he's simply Elder to you guys, about these crystals. He might help us with them. So if we're all ready, we should depart at once."

"I think I was born in Leslia," she mumbled to herself. "Lets go, the sun is already low."

"Well, the orphanage. That's something. I've visited a few, not very nice places in my opinion. I can see why you would leave. But, it's not safe these days to travel in the wild. I'd think you need a gardian or a guild."

Arwyn nodded in understanding, her eyes softened at their words. No younglings should travel the wild alone. she thought to herself. "Would you like to travel with us?" she asked and stole a quick glance at Aaron, hoping that she was not overstepping her bounds.
