First things first.. what is the overall purpose?
To find some treasure.. clear a family name.. history project?
Oh, that would be fun. Having it be Kira's college history project, and Ben Gates leads her on a treasure hunt instead.

JFK assassination.. I like.
Like, they find out new things about the assissination that were not written in the history books.
Oh.. another good idea.. instead of leading to a treasure.. it could lead to a secret organization that planned out and is plotting assassinations.

Well, this is starting out as a history project. So, I believe Kira will probably do this on the JFK assassination. So, they would have to go to...................................[Wikipedia time]

You mean how did they find out where they needed to go?
Well, when they didn't know where to start off at all, they would go to someone they knew that really knew their geography.
haha.
And then to find the other places they needed, they just really understood the codes and deciphered all of the messages.
