Lily caught Severus' gaze and smiled back at him warmly. She turned back to face Cat.
"So... What?" she asked, her right hand grabbing a piece of toast, idly.

"Getting ready to thrash Slytherin again this year?"Cat asked grinning "Or supporting those who will?"
Pointedly she glanced at James then laughed outright, wiping buttery fingers on the tablecloth and not realising it.

Lily raised her eyebrows and then turned to look at who she had glanced at. She turned back to Cat, her fists clenched, still hollding the knife she had been using to cut her toast. She glared at her and then said,
"You know Quidditch isn't really my thing," she then finished calmly.

[Sorry, schools busy at the mo >< And I have an exchange student over for one more week...

"I know... But then I happen to know its Potters,"she said through a mouthful of toast, spraying crumbs generously in Lily's general direction. "My source of information, is unique."
Gently wiping her mouth, she continued, "You'll love me foreever Evans."

"Seriously, what are you on, Cat?", Lily asked annoyed. She was sick of Cat's endless teasing.
"I mean, why do you keep going on about that arrogant boy? I mean, what do you think-" She stopped then, because she was making too much of an effort. He was surely not worth it.

After breakfast Sirius got up and took his bag and while looking on his new schedule he said: "We've got Defense Against the Dark Arts now.." He poked James and grinned "Come on if you're lucky you'll get a seat close to Evans.."

Sirius entered the classroom and waved to Lily. Grabbing James by his arm he almost dragged his friend to the back of the classroom and took a seat next to Cat so the only seat left for James would be next to Lily.
"Hi Evans.. Blackadder.. nice morning isn't it?" He smiled innocently and winked at James.

Lily fumed at Cat.
"Oh just be quiet, will you? I think you have a really-really soft spot for Black," she chuckled feebly, trying to distract her.
They entered the classroom and Lily waved back to Sirius. Only when she had sat down and taken her book and quill out did she realise that the only seat left for James to sit at would be next to her. She cursed silently under her breath and then tried to ignore that rather disturbing fact.
