I was just thinking last night, a younger Hugh Grant would be a really good Edward. He has that sort of sharp look about him... and he has good hair.

Yeah, I imagined Bella with much softer features, a more heart, or oval shaped face, with less...square...ness...

Haha, Hugh Grant, though I can see your point about the look, couldn't ever pull off the vampire thing though.

And I've been thinking about it too, and I do agree that no one would ever be able to agree on who would make a good Edward.

And the only person I think is ridiculously perfect is Tom Welling (however, he couldn't pull off vampire either, and he's so ridiculously perfect he's almost not good-looking). Oh, but a person I could possibly see playing Edward is an actor whose name I can't remember...he played Boone on LOST. I could see him.

The only person I pictured as Edward was Gaspard Ulliel. But apparently he's "too old" to be Edward. Whatever.

I thought Ellen Page would have been a good Bella... I agree, the person they cast is too square. And harsh-ish looking.

I am 99% certain that the film is going to fail. And the entire audience will be a) five people and b) Goths.

Oh my goodness, I completely agree with Gaspard. That would be perfect. Forget too old. We should write letters.

*hates both Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart*

I have always rooted for Gaspard Ulliel, but I know that it is too late for that :(

And Kristen for Bella?? SO WRONG! Like others have said ^^ she needs to be softer...and I think Kristen looks WAY too old...and...I don't know, she has this mean look to her that is SO not Bella :(

What I want to know is how they are going to make the actors/actresses look vampire-ish. Like with the pale skin and everything. Because I really can't see any normal human looking like that and hott at the same time...even with amazing special effects.

They better make this work out...

That why I thought the whole movie idea was completely silly. The point of the whole thing is that PEOPLE DON'T LOOK LIKE THAT. I really don't think that anyone that's hideously pale with big purple bruises can look gorgeous.

This is frustrating.

It is one of those books better left as books, but thats what they said about LotR, and look how amazing that turned out.

There are numerous fans of these books, so I hardly doubt that the entire audience will be
a) five people and b) Goths
Edward, and the rest of the vampires are will ne the hardest parts of the movie. I think they will have to use CGI, there is no one, well maybe no one, that will be able to pull off the most amazing looking people ever. I think the template they should follow is the way that the Final Fantasy movies look. Not the whole thing made of CGI, but they way that the character's faces look. The "white slate" sort of look...

Oh, and they have to get the eyes right. It is one of my nit-picky things, and if the eyes are wrong. I will cry. I love the colour gold, and if they screw that up, I will walk out of the theater.

I'm actually kinda excited about the movie.

I do agree that the books should have been just books, but since they've decided to make one i've decided that i want to watch it.

If it turns out badly then i'll just ignore it. Kinda like Eregon. LOVED the book, the movie was "okay" as in not HORRIBLE but not AWESOME. =]]

I'm not too worried about the casting. I'm trusting the director on this one. He may screw it up, he may do a spectacular job.

We'll see. <3 =]]]]

It's being directed by a woman, actually - Catherine Hardwicke. She directed The Nativity Story, which I thought was fantastic. Really hope she does as well with Twilight. *prays*

To that I only have one reply. Eragon.

I think that's all I need to say.

Actually, I hope it's nothing like the book, so I can still see the movie and not ever have to associate it with the book. :D

Because it's too late for the cast.

But please please of Gods of Hollywood, cast someone decent for Jacob. Please.

I really, really hope it doesn't come to that. :'(

I don't think my faith in Hollywood (what's left of it) can stand another *wince* Eragon. :hide:

The Eragons of this world are so disappointing...since my first example of Hollywood's book-to-movie jobs was LotR, I'm basically disappointed every time. :P

I agree, the actress for Bella looks NOTHING like what I pictured her as. She has this look of natural meaness--you know how, when people's faces are relaxed, they take on a certain emotion? Bella should naturally look sad or neutral...not angry.

But I still have some faith in the movie. I like Catherine Hardwicke, and we have no idea what the script or setting will look like, so we can't proclaim it toally ruined yet. :)

(And I think Robert will make a nice Edward. :) )

Eragon was a holly wood flop, and the book was just a plagurizing piece of work. I tend to ignore it as much as possible.

But there have been other sucesses, the Harry Potter movies weren't that bad, and LotR was obviousely amazing. I have hope for Twilight.

But you have to get the right actors! I'm sorry, Bella is ok, but not who I would choose. Same with Edward. And Jacob, Jacob has to be perfect. He'll make up for the other mistakes. Jacob is probably my favorite character...
