This is my 'official' resignation from the forums. Even two months ago, I wouldn't have thought that I'd ever actually willingly leave here, but after a lot of thought these last couple of weeks, I've come to the conclusion that I should leave.
I vastly enjoy the time I spend on the forum every day (with the exception of the occasional time that I can't get on), which is mostly the problem--I spend a lot of time here, whether or not I'm actually posting. It occurred to me, though, that while I'm on here enjoying myself, I'm not doing anything else. With most of my siblings off to college, there are fewer people around the take care of the same amount of space, and I realize that by spending so much time on A-U, I've been leaving a lot more than I should to my parents and my remaining sister. That's not right of me, so I'm removing a major time-consumer (however enjoyable it might be) from my life, so that I can be more of a help to my parents, as I should be.
Now, most other people could probably just spend less time on A-U, but courtesy of my personality or whatever, I find it to be rather addictive--it's a simple matter to forget myself and spend several hours on A-U at a time, during which I'm not doing anything useful. Since I find A-U so addictive, the only way to really keep it from being a 75%+ chance of spending hours on A-U every day is to just drop it out of my life, which is rather a hard thing, but I think it needs to be done.
As it is, I'd probably vanish in just a few months anyway, due to upcoming events in my life that will probably keep me away from the internet for a while.
However, leaving A-U is not the same as leaving the internet--I'll still be on MSN, etc., just not as frequently as I've been in the past. So if you have my MSN, blog, or FaceBook, then you'll certainly be 'seeing' me in the future. Thus, I'm not going to be saying any specific goodbyes, because I'll still be talking to a bunch of you.
So, Namárië, everyone. The two years I've spent on this forum have been extremely enjoyable to me.
And thanks for reminding me of this thread, Nienor. _________________

Oh no... I'll miss you Aerandir. It was always really cool to talk to you about LotR. But I do understand your choice a lot. After all, I was absent from A-U for a year or so, because I went to NZ and because I had a stressful time at school.. but it's sad to hear you're leaving for good... I wish you all the best for your future and I hope things will work out better with your family

I didn't see you around or get to know you as much as I probably should've but I'm still sorry to see you go. I must say I admire you for your firm decision to leave though... that's more than I think I could do.
