Yashamaru went wide eyed at what Zutao said.
"Zutao-kun. What happened?" he said, then felt Mariko struggle with his Ebon Rope.
"I'll let you go in you promise not to pull anything. I don't know what happened either, but I'm sure it's something bad if it has something to do with the Iako Lord's daughter. I do know that if she was hurtt that shinobi friend of hers would kill a few of us," he snapped, and before she was able to voice an answer, he had his ebon rope off of Mariko's wrist, and went off running in the direction of Kuroda's room...

(Well, I can have Mariko know some skills, but right now I am thinking to have her use her drain life on herself and pass her own energy to Cora-don't know if that is okay with everyone though. )

Aiko found herself unable to look her lord's daughter in the eyes nor was she able to speak, no longer trusting her own voice. My duty was to protect her, and I led her to harm. she thought to herself. I have betrayed my lord's trust. Not even my seppuku will be enough to make amends. she thought.

But Zutao had got some of his self control back, and e wasn't about to let yet another Iako go hareing off around the fort, especially one Yashamaru had thought was worth takeing prisoner, but then again he'd jut let her go...but then he knew Zutao was here to take over.

Flickering ice began to form in his right hand.

What if she was a healer though? Maybe she could help? It couldn't do any harm to ask.

"Aiko-sama's eyes glowed red and..." he decided to leave out his own part in this "Cora-sama has sustained great injuries. Are you a healer?" He drew his katana at the same time.

Mariko looked at him in shock at his story, her mind racing madly. Aiko injuring Cora? It made no sense-she had always taken the utmost care when the lord's daughter was present...

Her mind snapped back to the present at Zutao's question. "I know some healing techniques," she replied.

Zutao swollowed and nodded sheathing his katana and letting the ice drop to the ground. "Come. She's in Kuroda's room." he turned and led her quickly through the complex into the room. "She says she can help." was all his said, pushng her in and baring the door so none could get in.

By the time Zutao had brought Mariko into the room, Yashamaru was in there trying to figure out exactly what happened.
"Koruda-kun, what happened?" he asked, seeing he was probably in the best mind to ask...

Aiko looked up as Mariko entered. "Mariko-san!" she cried in greeting.

Mariko nodded to the female shinobi and quickly raced to Cora's side as Zutao shoved her in. "Cora-sama," she breathed in a whisper. Her eyes widened in horror as she beheld the wounds-wounds that she knew could only have happened by Aiko's power. She glanced at the female shinobi for a second, and the moment their eyes met she could see the remorse in the other woman's eyes. There will be time to discover the truth later, she told herself. Right now, Cora needed their aid. "Are there any herbs and bandages," she asked, not caring who answered.

Zutao nodded and unbared the door and ran from the room as if he was glad to be out of it. A few miniuts later he returned with a box which he layed down beside her before re-barring the door and moveing into the furthest courner from Aiko.

Seeing he got no response from Kuroda, he looked at Cora. Out of the three Koga's there, Yashamaru was probably the least trusting of the Iako, and the least willing to help. He turned to Zutao and whispered.
"I thought earlier our mission was to kill Cora, and now it's to save her?"

"I owe her a life debt" Zutao replied quitely. "I cannot kill her without bringing the greatest dishouner." It was not said without some bitterness, for Zutao did not like being in anothers debt; it gave them a hold over you.

Mariko nodded before inspecting the wounds once again. They are too deep, she thought with great bitterness. Even if I were to apply the herbs, it will take awhile for them to have any significant effect, and those moments could mean the difference between life and death. Maybe I could... she thought again. But I have never done it before... She had learned long ago how to speed the healing of wounds using drain life, by using the energy from another. Knowing what she had to do, she focused the dark energy on herself, drawing on the strength from her being, until her hand glowed a soft hue. Placing her hand on the worst of Cora's injuries she passed her energy to her, using the power to seal some of the wounds and speed their healing. As the light faded Mariko fell forward, catching herself on her hands, weakened by her power. Sweat beaded upon her forehead and an unnatural pallor tinted her skin as she tried to focus on the task at hand. She felt as if she could barely move, that every ounce of strength she possessed was removed from her body. So this is how my opponents have felt, she thought with some irony as she shook her head to clear the haze that seemed to surround her. Aiko knelt by her side and gently put a hand on her shoulder. "Mariko-san" she whispered.

Mariko nodded at her. "Daijoubu." [I'm fine.] Please don't worry," she said wearily after a slight pause. With that she reached for the herbs and began to apply them on some of the wounds.

(Oh man, I'm really sorry! I have had limited access for about a week. I have tried to catch up but...)

Kuroda just stood in shock, he couldn't move, could barely breathe, as the horrifying events unfolded before him. Everything seemed to move in slow motion. The ice shard towards Cora, Aiko melting it, then her rage-filled eyes, that unimaginable burst of pure energy, Zutao lying unconcious, Cora taking on his wounds... Cora!

Kuroda sank to his knees beside her, cradleing her head in his lap, uncaring of anything else, he only looked up when Mariko entered the room and began examining Cora.

Mariko continued to apply the herbs, working as swiftly as she could. She knew that even though she used her power to speed the wound's healing, without proper treatment, her power alone would not be able to save Cora. How ironic that when I need the most strength is when I am exhausted so, she thought bitterly as she started to bandage some of the wounds. As Kuroda came to kneel at Cora's side and cradled the woman's head in his lap, she noted with a start the man's feelings for their lord's daughter. Are they truly in love? she wondered for a fleeting moment, but quickly pushed the thought aside. Distractions such as this would not aid Cora, and with her own dwindling reserves, Mariko knew it would take all her focus to continue the task at hand.
