Tosh tapped away at her console and spoke up.
"Looks like there's a Weevil on the loose" then she cringed to herself.

"Who do I look to? Gwen's really taken the bull by the horns in leading the team. But now Jack is back."

She looked up to see Jack standing behind her and she spoke up again.
"So...what do you think?"

"Fantastic," Owen said. "Well, at least, we can handle this one. It's not like some subterranean homesick alien just came through the Rift. Scaring all the locals."

I was cured all right.

"Right." Said Gwen, deciding to take charge, atleast till she could trust Jack again. "Lanto, you get the van started. We'll meet you round the front. Tosh, get the location and the equipment together, Owen you help, quick as you can. we'll discuse tactics on the way. I'll phone the police, tell them to seal off the area." She looked at Jack, anger still in her eyes, then lept into action.

Jack tilted his head, slightly irritated that Gwen was taking charge. He supposed that it was going to take longer than he thought to get back into things. Still, Gwen's plan was exactly what he would have said, so he didn't complain.

Owen nodded and went to get his basic medical kit. It was a good thing he didn't bother unpacking anything yet. Otherwise he would have to scramble around finding the necessary equipment. He found his kit and opened it to check if everything was in there. "Dressings, bandages, antiseptics, gloves, painkillers, good," he mumbled. He closed and secured his kit and went back to the main offices. As he did, he wondered how Jack will regain command of the team if ever. Gwen was the unofficial leader of the team when Jack disappeared, Tosh and Ianto unwilling to take control and he already had his chance. And blew it.

A wink? That was it? Ianto clasped the tray tightly, his hands shaking so hard the teacups chattered as they shook. After Jack was gone so long, leaving him with o many thoughts, longings, so many thoughts that he might be dead or never return, and all he got was wink? A quick bat of the eye, that was Jack's greeting, quick and superfical. Ianto thought he and Jack were above that level, that they could express their deeper selves, but maybe he was wrong. Maybe in his time away Jack had changed. He had been gone for so long. Ianto stiffly set the tea down, only vaguely listening to the conversation. Gwen's command to satrt the van startled him out of his own thoughts. "Sure" he replied, fighting for control of his face. He won, managing to keep his expression thoughtless and mildly distant, but inside he felt himself shouting. "I'll start the van" He turned abruptly and left, quickly exiting the room.

When she saw that they were all ready Gwen turned and headed for the door. "Ok guys, we havent got much time she called."

Jack followed Gwen outside, plotting how they'd capture the Weevil. One thing was certain; he and Gwen were going to have to sort out who the leader here was. It wouldn't do to have two people shouting commands.

Tosh simply nodded and smiled acknowledgement at Gwen.
This was a tense and awkward situation. She really hoped it wouldn't cause any lasting problems. She liked Gwen and was proud of how well she'd taken control of things. But she was also incredibly happy to see the return of Jack.

Gwen got in the front passenger seat and belted up, smilling comfortingly at lanto, waiting for the others.

Jack slid into the car behind Gwen and Ianto, not bothering to buckle the seat belt. He leaned forward, preparing to shout out orders.

Owen leaped into the SUV and took the seat behind Ianto, who was driving today. He turned the computer on and declared, "Ok, the report said that the Weevil emerged from an alleyway and attacked a passerby. He's not dead but mortally wounded. They've got him into the hospital. We need to drop there after we're done with the Weevil. Right now, no one knows where the Weevil is. It took off after it attacked."

"Where is it?" Ianto asked tightly, throwing the SUV into drive. "There are quite a few alley ways here in Cardiff"

"The marina." Replied Gwen. She turned round to Owen, Tosh and Jack. "What do you guys think, split up or stick together?" She said, pulling out her weavil spray.

"Split up. We should go at it from two angles, hopefully that'll confuse it," Jack replied.
