Kayala looked off into the distance thoughtfully,"Maybe that would work..." She then turned to the men,"But there is another way. But it is probably going to take a long time before someone actually rescues us."

Jack climbed up onto the deck of the Pearl, after managing to row back as fast as he could after the incident with Alex. He stalked into his quarters, muttering,"I do not love Alex, I do not love Alex, I do not love Alex, I do not, I do not I do not."

Elizabeth boarded the Pearl, heart racing as she remembered all that had happened since the first time she'd seen this ship, so many years ago. On this ship she'd been kidnapped by cursed pirates, had countless adventures, and witnessed firsthand the resurrection of the man she loved and the destruction of the EITC's main ship. Also, she thought, this had been the place she'd kissed and killed a man she had looked up to and mildly been attracted to, a man who was probably one of the most disloyal scoundrels she'd ever encountered. I'd have to be mad to be going on a journey with Jack again, she thought wryly. I guess I am mad, then. I'll do anything to see Will again.

What Kayala said caught James' interest. "What's the other way?" he asked while his eyes remained looking ahead at the ship remains. "Where did those come from anyway? Someone must have sailed here? And if they sailed here they had to come from somewhere." he pondered.

Carmon gave Vari a thankful look and tried to cheer up a bit. "No, nothing's wrong, but I was just thinking," she paused, "about Cole and Edward is all." she sighed and looked away, "it's got nothin' to do with me being ship savvy or not. And I'm better than when I first boarded," she grinned at the other woman, "remember that?" thinking of something else was the best thing to do at the moment, Carmon decided.

Beckett glowered over at Richard. If only this place wasn't already a place of death, he would have gladly killed Richard for the second time right then and there. He had done nothing wrong, he didn't regret anything... or did he? No, he pushed the other thought quickly away, that's wasn't your fault. That was hers. He ignored Richard's consistent prying until, that is, he heard the other man comment about eternity. "No, I'm afraid you don't." he gave the two men one last glare and began walking away. He would find away out. Nothing had kept Lord Beckett from what he wanted in Real Life so why should it now?

(no problem.  well, Will's in the Locker doing his job BUT I thought about this some more today and what would you say if Lotty had become a captain of a pirate ship during this time... a decent one though... and she landed there. And should Lotty know (you know) and tell Keykey all about it... and they can kinda have some girl time. And Joanna too.  What about that? Of course I'd have to think of a name for Lot's ship, but those are all just details. )

Edward stopped in his tracks as he listened to what Kayala had to say. “Aye, what is it, Kayala?” He looked over at Norrington thoughtfully. “At this point I’m willin’ to try anythin’ love.”

Vari laughed as she remembered exactly how unsteady Carmon had been when she first came aboard. It took a little while for the poor girl to get her sea legs, what with the rough seas they had encountered those few days. “Of course I remember,” Vari smiled, “ye’ve come a rather long way.” They both had, not only in sailing, but in their friendship, too. It had been a long time since Vari and Carmon had first met on the streets of Port Royal, thanks to the help of William Turner. She began to wonder how things were going for him, and slowly her mind drifted back to the locker. Vari wondered how Edward was holding up; hopefully he had not slipped into madness quite yet. “Well, that’s all in the past,” she said, fixing her red bandanna. It was the one that Richard had given her years ago and she’d worn it all this time. “I suppose now we only have to look to the future.”

Richard glanced over at Cole with a mischievous grin. Of course he wasn’t just going to drop the subject and let Beckett go, but provoke him, as he felt he had every right to do. After all, this man had killed him once, and since being killed again was not possible here, why not drive him crazy too? Walking at a slightly faster pace than Beckett, Richard quickly caught up with him. “Somethin’ else besides me is vexing ye, ain’t it?” His blue eyes shone brighter than the sun reflecting off the ocean. “Ye know ye’re not goin’ to keep it bottled up inside… it’s going to drive ye crazy, mad even, just like this place… and ye’re going to have to tell someone, anyone that’ll listen and Cole an’ I are the only ones that’ll be around. Come on, say somethin’, ye know ye want to.” Lord Beckett may have been good at playing mind games, but he wasn’t the only one that could try and get into someone’s head…

[[I’d say that sounds fantastic! Well, the way I figured it, Keyara had sort of softened after the ‘heartbreak’ and she joined Joanna’s crew (they’re not really scoundrels, either… actually have manners and stuff. ). I figured Joanna would have been clueless to most of Keyara’s past (mostly the things involving Beckett and the EITC  ), so it’ll come as a shock to her when she finds out. But that sounds really good and it’ll give the other characters something to do for now. ]]

Alex walked Jack go and sighed. When she realized that she had actually sighed out loud, she gasped a little and bit her lip. She glanced around to make sure no one had heard before continuing to the quarterdeck. She leaned against the rail overlooking the water, her thoughts dwelling on Jack.

Elizabeth noticed Alex leaning on the rail with a thoughful expression on her face. Curious, and eager to get on the other woman's good side - after all, they would be travelling together for a while - she asked, "What are you thinking about?"

Kayala frowned,"The only other way out of the Locker is if someone in the living world is willing to save one of us. That is the other way out. But I am willing to bet that noone in the living world will be brave enough to come here." She sighed unhappily.

James gazed down at the sandy land and listened to Kayala. When he heard her finally conclude, he let out a grim chuckle. "it's not likely. Especially since most people probably don't know how to get here in the first place, except by dying, that is." he sighed and thought of Elizabeth again, but he didn't even know if she was alive and if she was she would be with Turner. She probably wouldn't have time to think about him.

Carmon glanced over at Vari and giggled with her. She was relieved to have the situation lightened a little. "yes, I suppose I have." as silence swept over them again Carmon turned her eyes back out to the ocean and she too was thinking about the past. So many glorious days had passed. How could things come to this? She glanced over at Elizabeth. The poor woman, she thought, she's lost her husband and her friend. Although Will was my friend too. Her thoughts also began to turn to Cole and to Lotty. "Vari," she turned back to the other woman, "we need to tell Lotty about Cole." she tried to hide the tears that were beginning to form.
(should Vari know about Lotty and Cole or not, Ara?)

Beckett stopped as Rich caught up with him. He tried to put on his best "patient face", but it was evident Rich and the silence and the surrounding, barren land was starting to get at him. He glared at Richard and sighed, a long, deep, exasperated sigh. "and please do share what you think is vexing me so much?" it came out slightly sarcastic. "and you should be the one to judge the condition other people's minds are in? You've been here for years and I'd be willing to wager the sun has driven you even more mad than you were before you died." Beckett began walking away again, ignoring whatever else Richard said.

As the other two walked a few feet away, Cole stayed back and looked away at the simmering water. He sighed and sat down on the sandy beach. His heart was becoming heavier by the minute as he thought about all the people he had left behind. And he couldn't even remember how he died.

(sweet! Glad to hear you like it!  so I'll start with Lotty... and for those who don't know Lotty's ship is the Grey Dream)
Charlotte Percy, or rather Charlotte Applegate as she had become almost half a year ago, stood on the deck of her ship, the Grey Dream. A smile was on her face because she was on her way from England to meet Cole and Carmon in Port Royal. She was excited about finally getting to see him. So many months had passed since he had to leave to help Carmon settle some things with the Jansen mansion on Port Royal. Lotty turned and bounded up the steps to where one of her best mates stood at the wheel. "we'll have to turn in 'ere," she motioned at a small island, "to get supplies." the man adjusted the wheel slightly.
(is that good, Ara? btw, for those wondering (like no one, I know!) I've finally got pics of Cole up... tis in my Character thread.  also Jansen was Carmon and Cole's step-father)

"Would you...excuse me for a moment?" Alex said, flashing Elizabeth another quick smile. "I'll be back in just a moment, I promise." She descended the stairs down to the deck. She glanced at Jack's door. She took a deep breath and walked towards the door. Once she had arrived at the door, she stopped. Presently, the ship keeled, sending her into the door. To her horror, it burst open. She stumbled into the cabin, her face burning. "I'm so sorry," she said quickly. "The...the door..." She tucked a piece of stray hair behind her ear. "Um...I was...just here to ask you...why you agreed to go World's End...again."

Jack looked up as Alex came in,"Don't worry about." He got up, staggering,"I was just thinking about that you know. Apparently, our dear Carmon will not tell us why she is in dire need of going to World's End. I assume she wants to save someone in her life that has gone to the Locker. I go because she has need to. that's why I go back."

Alex was silent for a moment before her dark eyes flicked back up to meet Jack's, a teasing and flirtatious glint shimmering in them. "Is Jack Sparrow on the verge of a change? Or is there another reason that you agreed to go back?"

Edward listened intently to the conversation. He sighed, "Everyone's probably forgotten about us by now. I mean, if they really cared, wouldn't they have come already?" He watched as a rock crab scuttled by his feet and clicked its pinchers at him.

Vari glanced from Carmon back to the horizon. She didn't want the other woman to see the pained look that had crossed her face. "Aye... but I can't imagine how much it's going to tear her apart."

"And good riddance!" Richard called out and made a face as Beckett walked away before turning back to Cole. "Who needs him anyway? We'll leave him in the Locker once we get out."

Keyara squinted in the bright sunlight and stood up on the white sand. A ship was approaching quickly; most likely more traders interested in spices and beds. She rolled her eyes. Just as soon as she got a break, it was over and back to work.

A smile flickered at the corner of her lips. "That's very good of you." She took the bottle from him and took a swig before giving it back to him. She stared at him for a moment. "You're a good man, Jack. I'm proud of you."

James glared hard down at the ground. His mind was turning. "There has to be a way to get out," he looked back up at the other two dejected forms, "and there's no point in waiting around if we can at least be looking. Don't you have all those little pirate friends of yours?" he asked Edward, although he figured since they were pirates they probably would've forgotten about Ed by now. He could tolerate and even partially like pirates for the sake of the side he had chosen and what Elizabeth had done, but they still weren't the highest in his regards. "they might come for you."

Carmon bit her lower lip in order to keep from bursting into tears right then and there. She let out a long sigh and looked at the water. "it was my fault, you know."
(sorry, just gotta add some guilt in here.  because, after all, Cole was at Port Royal with Carmon... he had gone only because of her)

Lord Beckett was extremely pleased to be finally left alone. He moved as quickly as he could across the beach and away from the two pirates. He wondered if there really was nothing at all in this land. There had to be some way out, after all, Jack had gotten out. Although he had had the help of his dratted friends.

Cole looked up as he heard Richard returning to him and addressing him. He only nodded and looked back out at the sea. "if there is a way out," he sighed.

In a few minutes, Charlotte and her crew had docked and were making their way off the gangplank and onto the shore. Lotty said something to her first mate and walked into the quaint town. She wondered where the person in charge of the dock or the supplies was. She scanned the streets looking for someone to ask.
(who should be that someone? Joanna? Keyara? Someone else? tis up to you, Ara! )
