((Sorry it has taken me so long, peeps! :D))

The sky was about to grow dark as the sun began to set. A pair of very close warriors were walking in the woods, about to make camp. They were heading for Dead Man's Walking Inn, only about 10 miles away, but they decided to wait one more night out in the woods instead of risking walking in the darkness to the Inn.

They should have risked it.

They where being followed, Eavan and Aiden where. Followed by their greatest enemy...the ones that wanted their blood for the use of evil. Aiden and Eavan knew that their blood was precious, and that they where the last two in the land with it, but they were unaware of how close the danger really was.

As Eavan took the first watch, around Midnight, something dark, masked, and armed jumped upon her from behind, tackling her, covering her mouth to keep in her screams. He took her right arm behind his back, so she couldn't get to her sword. Eavan struggled against the man's hold, but his grip was strong, but her will was stronger. Eavan closed her eyes and thought hard for a few moments and when she opened her eyes, she was relived to see her companion, Flame, come out from his hiding spot and attack the man. The dragon was small, but strong and the bridgand was forced to let go of Eavan to fight off Flame.

"Aiden!" Eavan yelled as the man was able to hit Flame with enough force to knock him into a near-by tree. She turned swiftly, blade out, and as the moon shown on the man in black, she realized this was no man at all...but an monster. One of the Creations created by the enemy from her ansestors blood. It was known as an Wolvlyn. It was part man, part wolf, and part bird. It was the ugliest, most terrifying thing she had ever seen. It had ten times the strength of a normal man and was rarely killed. And, if she was bitten by it, her blood would be poisened, and it would only be 40 days until her blood was completely pure and ready to be used to create more of these creatures...both Wolvlyn and new ones.

The Wolvlyn came at Eavan, pouncing and she managed to dodge it's fangs, falling to the ground, but not it's dagger, which she realized he had hidden under his fur. His dagger slashed her across her right cheek and she felt it sting slightly. She put her hand up to her cheek and felt the slight oozing of warm blood trickle through her fingers and the dark red shined out in the moonlight as she took her hand off.

Then, she looked up to see her brother, Aiden, fighting the beast with his sword. She stood, a little shaky from her last dodge, and watched the intense battle. The two foes were evenly matched. Then, the horrible happened. A low howl from the distance could be heard, and Aiden looked past the Wolvlyn for a split second.

That was all it took.

Quickly, the Wolvlyn lunged forward and bit Aiden in the stomach as Eavan screamed in horror, falling to her knees. Aiden, gasping, feel to his own, blood staining his white shirt. Another howl came again from the distance, no closer than before it seemed, and the Wolvlyn replied with a howl that shook Eavan's heart and chilled her bones; a sound she would - could - never forget. Then, the beast picked her brother up (who's soul was already becoming lost to the demons from the poison, and now was weary and light-headed, not at all himself anymore.) and looked at Eavan. Eavan looked back into the creatures large, yellow eyes, cursing it with all her heart. Then, it did the unimaginable.

It smiled at her.

And with that, the Wolvlyn leaped into the shadows, the sound of his footsteps fading away as the sound of the howl still wrung in Eavan's ears, the sight of it's wicked damned smile in her mind...

Eavan awoke with a start. She looked down at her hands quickly and felt her face. It was okay; she was okay. It was just a dream....until her fingers traced over the scar that the Wolvlyn had given her only two nights before. Eavan cursed at the memory that was still vivid in her mind and stood, trying to awake.

She continued to the town with the Inn, the place where she was traveling with her brother...only, one less member in tow. She felt something land softly on her shoulder and looked to see Flame sitting their, his black eyes looking into her own silver owns. She stroked it's neck as she looked out over the hill, and saw the town where she was headed.

She now had a new mission in store there. Checking to make sure all her weapons were intact, she set off swiftly towards the town, towards Dead Man Walking Inn, towards, hopefully, to her brother's freedom.

((I do want to apologize for the size of this post. I now it is quite large.))

Strider sat at the back of the bar, drinking a mug of warm tea. As he saw the new comer arriving, he sensed something different arriving in her. Just the way she strided along made her look unnormal, but yet again she also barred a great burden. Her eyes showed it all. He let a sigh escape aloud from him. Fool, letting her emotions get away with her. He knew he of all people shouldn't be talking like that, for he often showed his fears as well. But he was getting better. A young fool has a lifetime to learn of unfoolishness, but an older fool has less time to make up for it. Strider could hear the woman's voice ringing in his head. He had never seen this woman, but could remember hearing it.

((Tur, I thought your post was brilliant!))

(An awesome post, Tur!)

Vondell sat on a stool by the fire. He was in a corner, but was in plain sight of all. In his lap sat his harp, on side leaning against his shoulder, and another corner rested in his lap. He strumbed the cords, producing a beautiful calming sound. Vondell squared his shoulders and started to sing with a treble voice.
"I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen,
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
in Summers that have been;

Of yellow leaves and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun
and wind upon my hair.

I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things
that I have never seen.
In every wood in every spring
there is a different green.

I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago,
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know.

But all the while I sit and think
of times there were before,
I listen for returning feet
and voices at the door...
"

The last note was long and eventually faded away. Just then a woman walked in with a scar on her cheek. Von thought nothing of it because, being a traveling Bard and playing at many Inns, he had seen many colorful characters. Von started on just a song for the harp that had no word. His fire lizard, that had been sitting on his shoulder, it's tail around Von's neck, had been hiding behind his head. It now peaked around the head to look at the newest arrival. It gave a chirp, and started to sing along with the music. Von smiled as his fire lizard, Nelnya, started to sing along with his playing. It's high voice added a beautiful harmony to the harp's melody...

(Awesome people :) I like this RP already :-D )

Tristan cursed under his breath when his boots sunk even deeper in the mud. His journey had been a hell until now. For days it had rained, the roads which never had been restored after the war were hardly more than a trail and he was looking for a town which he'd visited months ago.
With his cane he found his way to the middle of the road which had been deserted. He hadn't met anyone on the road which made it hard for him to judge whether he was going in the direction for he based his route on memory rather than vision.
Suddenly he heard a dim sound of hooves and he halted, waved with his arm in the air and when th esound was near he cried: "Excuse me"
The horse slowed down. Out of my way you beggar an, obviously older man growled. Can't you see I'm in a hurry?
Ignoring the man's rudeness Tristan answered: "No I can't. I just wanted to know whether this is the correct road to the Dead Man Walking Inn."
The man laughed: Are ye blind fool? You're standing a few feet from the town's gate. He heard the man urge his horse in a galop and he left, still laughing.
Tristan continued his route. Night must have fallen for town was quiet but he didn't mind. Sometimes he wasn't allowed to enter town: No need of blind beggars they would say and only after showing his purse filled with coins they let him pass after emptying more than a fourth of it for compensation.
He entered the inn, which was comfortably warm. Using his cane he made his way over to the bar and asked for an ale. When there was no reply he moved to the left but suddenly bumped into someone. His cane fell on the floor. "I'm sorry" he said as he touched the floor in order to find it.

(( Anyone can jump in ;) Sorry for the long post ))

Dax sat a few feet from Vondell, smiling as she listened to him play. She fingured a lock of her curly hair, as a young women walked in. She had a scar on her face, Dax knew quite a few herbs that could have prevented that. Dax had cured quite a few scars over the past few years, a couple of her own, and some that had belonged to people she had met along the road.

A few feet before Eavan had entered the Inn, so slipped on a blue cloak to conceal her clothes and told Flame to hide under it. Dragons were not normal pets, especailly around these parts. She kept the hood down though; she knew that someone walking into an Inn cloaked and quiet, drew more attention than one with a unhooded cloak on. Making sure her weapons were concealed, along with Flame, she walked into the Inn, glad for a actual resting place from her long journey.

She quickly scanned the Inn as she entered; many drunk men and a few women, even an harp player. How cute. She thought icily in her head. She wasn't in the mood for cheery things and it awed her how some people lives could be so blessed for them to be able to be laid back all the time and have no worries in the world; when others lives where almost a living hell, never knowing if you would survive another night, knowing that one false move, one mistake, could change the course of history. She lived the second life, of course, and as these merchants and sailors and beggars sat around getting drunk and listening to music, she had to find someone, or more than one someones, to help her go into the wretched land of the demons and rescue her brother, to save his life, their hertiage, and a entirely new evil to be created. Well, the first live would be rather boring, I think. She sighed inwardly, knowing she was letting too many thoughts into her head and show through her eyes.

Just then, an old blind begger ran into her from behind. She turned quickly and in the process, knocked the cane of of his hands. She cursed in her head as she knelt down and picked up the cane and took the man's hand, putting the cane there. "There you go." She said, her voice light and lively, yet weary at the same time. "Sorry about that. I wasn't watching were I was going."

((Tristan is not that old :P ))

A light woman's voice spoke to him and placed his cane back in his hands. "Nor was I " he spoke silently. "Thank you." He smiled at her. "May I ask why a young lady like you bears such a heavy burden? Are you in trouble?" He looked at her quite concerned, although his eyes remained blank. He'd noticed the sad tone in her voice and he wondered why such a woman was here.. in an inn, which was filled with cheerful folk. He was taken aback by his own words, usually he never spoke his mind so openly, eventhough he seemed to be gifted to 'read' people but reality proved that people refused to accept themselves as they were.

((Sorry...couldn't tell. :P))

Eavan smiled slightly, and thought about what she should say? The truth? That would be a new expierence for you, wouldn't it? She heard a voice in her head say.Flame. She said sternly, though another smile came to her lips. She was bonded to the dragon mentally, and that is what saved her from being bitten that fateful night. No, she couldn't tell the truth...not yet. Not so out in the open. That went against all her instincts. So, she shook her head.

"Just weary from travel, I suppose." She said casually, ordering an light type of ale from the bar-keeper. "Nothing is wrong."

You lie! Flame hissed in her head.
"Obviously, num-nut!" She retorted back at him as the keeper gave her her ale. She nodded her thanks at him and took a small sip. The liquid tasted good to her parched lips and soothed her sore throat and warmed her body. It was a small comfort, something she didn't get to have from traveling and she was thankful for it. Her bones still ached, her scar still stung, and the memories were almost to hard to bear, but the drink, and the mans kindness, is what helped her get through times like this, especially when her brother wasn't their to do so, like normal.

Tristan nodded. Although he couldn't see her face he somehow felt she hesitated. But what did it matter she didn't answer truthfully? "My name is Tristan." he said and he dropped a few coins on the bar. The barkeeper took them eagerly, somehow not deaf anymore for his calls for an ale. "Works every time." he smiled.

(( lol doesn't matter ;) I like the thing about the dragon, the communicating. It's cool :-D ))

Eavan smiled, taking another sip of ale to buy time to think. Give her real name or no? Could he be trusted? Could he be an emeny?

Maybe I should just change your name to liar!

"Shut up, Flame!"

"My name is Eavan. A pleasure to meet you, Tristian." She told the man, proving a point to her dragon that she didn't lie about everything. She couldn't trust everyone, especially during a time like this...a time when she was being hunted. She had to be careful, or she wouldn't be able to save her brother...her twin.

((Haha, thank you! :) I find it fun!))

Music, smoke, and voices clouded the air so thickly Amaran felt like he would drown. This inn was cozy to most, but to the shapeshifter this room was too filled, to closed in for comfort. He cared more for the light open air, and he hated the firey liquids that changed men's mind so. With a sigh he quickly shifted to a small, slender snake and slithered down to the ground, where hidden in shadow he shifted to his human form. With a bit off difficulty he began to push through the crowd, growling to himself about his mate he was supposed to come, but had never showed. All this rubish for nothing he muttered. He was close to the door when he smelt it. His nose was far more sensitive than a regular human nose, even in his human form. That's why, admist all the body oder and fragrant food, he could smell the strange scent the lady gave off. It wasn't a perfume oranything of that sort. It was a personal oder. He glanced sharply to the left and caught the woman in his gaze. She was young and quite pretty, considering the ugly gash that ran down her cheek.

Vondell, after finnishing the song with just the harp, sang a lively drinking son on request by the drunks. That song went by quickly, or at least it did to him to Vondell's relief. They were requesting another lively drinking song, but he shook his head.
"Let me get a drink before I sing another song," he said, and made his way to the bar, harp still in hand. He ordered a simple glass of water, and took his back to his stool by the hearth. Vondell prefered the warmth, being born and raised in the warmer southern climate. The bard took a few sips, set the cup down, and set his harp back in playing possision. He strummed it one then started playing a slower song, which was chorused with groans from the happy drunks. Vondell stopped mid-song with a sad sigh(that was one of his favorite songs), and started on another fast beat song that was well-known so much that more than half the tavern started singing along.
This is the down part to this job, Vondell though to himself, trying to ignore the out-of-tune voices of other singers.
Yet you love music, and barding is pretty much the only good-paying job these days that include music, he heard Nelnya's voice in his head.
I know, I know, Nelly. I guess every job has it's downside. He inwardly sighed, and stopped singing himself, but kept playing for the men who were singing...

Strider did not take his eyes off of the young woman and the blind beggar. He knew that there was something about them that he needed to known, but he could not figure it out. So, when he could not stand just sitting in the dark corner much longer, he stood up and strode over. He brushed his dark bangs aside with his hand.
Without a word he sat down with a PLOP! beside the woman.

"Ale, sir." He said quietly to the bartender. Without letting his lips move, he murmured even quieter to the woman. "Who are you, and what is your purpose." He had not meant it to sound as harsh as it had. But at that moment almost nothing mattered to him. He just had one thing that he was determined to accomplish - finding out the woman's name and what she was doing in this part of town with a blind beggar.
