"Eavan.. you're not from here I suppose then.." He'd travelled long and far so he knew about the dialects and names in certain areas. Then suddenly another young man intervened for he asked, quite unpolite, what Eavan's business was here. Tristan almost felt the man's gaze on him, probably curious of why she was involved with him, and he quietly withdrew in a corner. There was something about this woman, Eavan, and Tristan didn't want cause her any troubles.
He took a seat in the corner behind the bard and sat back. When he'd finished the drinking song Tristan addressed him. "That song you started before.. what was it?" It had touched him. He loved music, he'd learnt to appreciate it more than he did in the past. It touched his soul and made him feel like he could see again..

Watching the newcomer from under his brows, Amaran growled softly. This man was much too blunt and forward for safety. Unsure of the man's intentions he regretfully turned his back from the door and glared at the man who had spoken so brashly to the odd-scented woman.

Vondell almost jumped when he was addressed after the latest drinking song. He turned to see the blind man.
"That was Last Rose, an older lay about the last of the centaurs(if that's alright)," he said, then took a sip of water. Cautiously his eyes darted around the tavern for a second. The men that had been singing the drinking song were now making up their own slurred words to the same tune. Seeing that he had no need to play for them for the moment, he turned back to the blind man.
"Maybe you'd like to hear the whole of Last Rose sometime?"

Eavan was about to answer when the man came foward. She quickly turned to look at him and analize him; ruff, middle-aged, and rude, the last one being her own opinion. He asked her about her business...why in hell did he care? And he definately wouldn't get to know, she knew that for sure. Not unless she approached him and told him herself, or asked politely, like Tristan did.

Uh-oh. Flame said as heat seemed to fill Eavan's veins, and fury made her want to simply hit the man. With her special blood, she could definately knock the man out with one blow, if she hit him in the right spot. But, she didn't want to start a bar fight, even though she was scared of know one in the bar.

She leaned down, looking the man in his eyes. "Sir..." She started, her voice icily cold. "I am sorry that your mother forgot to teach you a thing called manners when you where younger, but it is never too late to learn, wouldn't you agree? Besides, whatever business I have is mine only, or the burden that I choose to give others, but not to you. Now, I will ask that you kindly leave me alone."

Way to stay unoticed.
"Flame, you are not helping!"
Oh, so you have a little fire in your veins! How did you do that? Have fire in your veins by being hot-headed and rash, yet make your voice sound colder than ice?
"It is a talent I have mastered by dealing with dragons." Eavan said sarcastically, still angry about the man's bluntness. She heard Flame snicker in laughter and she sighed, looking towards the door of the Inn, and thought she saw something slithering around the floor. She blinked and saw nothing. It must have been her imagination.

Dax got up and walked to the bar, dodging a few drunk men on the way, digging in her pockets for coins. Put them down on the bar, smiling to the innkeeper. He past her an ale, and walked on to serve so others, who, by the looks of it, didn't need anymore. As she stood there, she over heard the young women with the scar tell off a man. She laughed under her breath, "I would leave her alone if I were you," she told him, in her usale cheerie tone.

Tristan nodded. "Perhaps, in another place, in another time." He said vaguely. He heard the drunkards singing their own version of the drinking song and he rolled his blank grey eyes, which must have had a freaky effect on people but most of them were to drunk to even notice him and the bard. "It must be a hard profession. To play music with such passion even though its value and beauty isn't recognised." Tristan thought of his homeland where it was thought that music weakened the mind. His face clouded for a moment when he thought of Cercum but he shook his head. He would never return there but eventhough that chapter was finished in his life it would haunt him forever.

Strider had to smile.

"Young woman, I apologize. But when you say that my mother taught me no manners, did you stop to think that maybe I had no mother to teach me?" Silence. He continued. "Very well, woman. I apologize again for my 'rashness'. I shall never aproach a female in that manner again, on my honor." He said sarcastically. Strider felt that he wasn't helping his matters. "Come now, ma'am, tell me your name. Otherwise I will have to find out from someone else, and that would be no fun! Please. Manner enough for you?"

He stared at the young woman, surprised yet not by her icy voice. He felt a little stung from her harsh words. His dead mother haunted him every day, knowing that she had died giving him life.

((Sorry! I can't keep track of all your ages! Though, I really liked that post, Willi.))

Eavan glanced at the woman who whispered to the man, and Eavan nodded to her in greeting, then took another sip of ale. It was quite good. She had to give her compliments to whomever made it. It was the best she had had in ages, it seemed. Every day that passed seemed like a lifetime now, without her twin...and if exghuastion and weary bones didn't take their toll on her, then stress and worry did. She shook her head and looked at the man...not a man, really. He seemed like a boy. Her age, maybe. She didn't know.

"Did you, sir, stop to think that you are not the only one in this Inn that has lost loved ones? Did you stop to think that people's burdens are far greater than yours? Did you stop to think that people might be coming here to escape from their past or their burdens, not to socialize about them!" Eavan exclaimed, her voice soft but very powerful. She sighed. Men! Can I not find one that is kind, funny, and cute my age? Not arrogant, stubborn, and rude! She thought, rolling her eyes.

"I am sorry for you loss. But their is nothing I can do for you. My name is my own; my own to know, my own to tell. And my own for you not to know. No one else in this bar knows me, and I will be gone by morning, so there is no point for you to get to know me. So, if you will excuse me..."

Eavan finished the last of her ale and gave the mug to the barsmen, thanking him. She smiled at him and asked, "Good sir, I must say, your ale is incredible. Thank you for the nurishment. Could I have a room, for the night? I will be gone before dawn, I promise." She told him.

Vondell nodded, then stared at his harp.
"It is hard. But music seems to be the only thing I'm really good at, and barding is the only good paying job that fits a musician," he said, then turned back to Tristan. "If it's alright, might I know you're name? I am Vondell, but you may call me Von."

Strider looked at the woman, never taking his eyes off of her.

"Young woman with no name, if I know no name, what am I to call you? And yes, I had considered everyone's losses because as one who has lost someone personally themselves, I think about it a lot." He grunted a little, clearing his throat. "Who did you lose? Though I know little about you, woman with no name, I am convinced that your burden to bear has been recent enough to put you in this state. I am someone to trust."

Strider was trying to lighten the mood between himself and the woman. He had actually felt bad because of rudeness, but not enough to leave. Something was wrong with this woman. He intended to find out.

((Thanks Tur!))

Tristan drank last of his ale, surpressed the reflex of looking for a table to put it by placing the mug at his feet. By now he had learnt to completely discard the old habbits of trying to see. When someone would shout he wouldn't even bother to look up. Although sometimes he would forget that nasty little detail, that he was blind which caused his movements to be unnatural. In several towns that resulted in the people calling him strange or even a madman.
"My name is Tristan." he said after a few moments. "It's a pleasure to meet you Von"

Eavan nodded her thanks to the Bartender and gave him 2 shilings for her room and he smiled at her before turning his attention to a few customers in the back who decided to start a brawl. Eavan heard the boy began to talk to her again.

My goodness, the boy never shuts up! She thought wearily.
Hm...does it remind you of anyone? Flame put in, as always.
"Yes. You." Eavan said before turning back to the man, her blue-silver eyes gazing upon him.

"Sir, please. I asked you once, and I will ask you again, leave me alone. I want no business with you, not now, not ever; never have, never will. I don't mean to be rude, that is not my intent, but if it must be so in order to make you leave me alone, that rude I shall be. I also bid you to keep in mind that my blade is quicker than thy tongue, and if you plan on stealing anything from me tonight, whether it is my name or my womanhood, then you will be dead before you will do anything more."

She said, thinking that his entire reason for talking with her was to share her bed that night. Well, she would show him that she is no bedwarmer. She sighed heavily and turned away for the twice time from the man, trying to find someone else to talk to, since he had already scared away her first friend, Tristan.

"A pleasure to meet you as well," Von replied to Tristan. He looked over to there other side of the tavern where a brawl was starting to break out. He got a look from the Inn owner to start playing again to help settle them down. And so that's what he did. He played a slower beat drinking song on his harp, but didn't sing along with it...

With a growl in his heart, Amaran watched as the man grew more and more interested in this woman who plainly did not wish for it. He sat stiffly next to the man, keeping his head down, and listening with his ears, not watching with his eyes. The man smelt of cheap ale and stale pipe smoke. Whether those scents were from his own habits are those around him, Amaran despised it. He'd seen guys like this before, taking too keen an intrest in a lady when it was late at night. His ma had told him to keep his nose out of other's buisness, but when the alleys were dark and unwatched, he wouldn't let this potential predator home without silently following him take every step of the way.
The bartender pulled his gaze up with a slap in the bar in front of him. "What'll it be?" The burly man asked. "Naught for now." Amaran muttered. For a moment the bartender looked at him with disgust, then turned to some new comers who looked far more likely to pay.

Dax grabbed her ale and sat down next to Amaran, who she could tell was listening in on Eavan and Strider's 'conversation'. She took a sip to her ale, looking over at the pair trade comments back and forth "She's going to bust his lip in a minute if he doesn't stop," she told Amaran, in her friendly and cheerful manner.
