"He still didn't leave her?" Tristan asked vaguely when he heard the dim sound of Eavan's light voice. He wondered whether that man was still talking to Eavan. Although he didn't know the woman at all an awkward feeling overcome him: she was a woman alone, perhaps he should have stayed there until the other man had left..
He grabbed his cane, got on his feet and mumbled to Von that he would be right back. With difficulty he manoeuvred himself through the crowd with Eavan's voice as guidance until he stood right next to her.
"Sir" he said quietly "I think the lady made her point and wants you to leave."

Eavan nodded her thanks to the Bartender and gave him 2 shilings for her room and he smiled at her before turning his attention to a few customers in the back who decided to start a brawl. Eavan heard the boy began to talk to her again.

My goodness, the boy never shuts up! She thought wearily.
Hm...does it remind you of anyone? Flame put in, as always.
"Yes. You." Eavan said before turning back to the man, her blue-silver eyes gazing upon him.

"Sir, please. I asked you once, and I will ask you again, leave me alone. I want no business with you, not now, not ever; never have, never will. I don't mean to be rude, that is not my intent, but if it must be so in order to make you leave me alone, that rude I shall be. I also bid you to keep in mind that my blade is quicker than thy tongue, and if you plan on stealing anything from me tonight, whether it is my name or my womanhood, then you will be dead before you will do anything more."

She said, thinking that his entire reason for talking with her was to share her bed that night. Well, she would show him that she is no bedwarmer. She sighed heavily and turned away for the twice time from the man, trying to find someone else to talk to, since he had already scared away her first friend, Tristan.

Strider was drinking his ale as the woman spoke. When she spoke of her womanhood, he choked and spit it out.

"Woman, dare not to think I am some random man who will try to steal your heart. Honestly, I have and want nothing to do with your love affairs. I came because of your sadness, and I thought you might need some sort of a friend AND, and, dear woman, I came because I felt you have a sort of mission of traveling and tracking, and much adventure. Adventure is all I seek."

After his speech Strider made the woman look at him. With sad eyes he looked into her rich eyes and spoke softly.

"Farewell, Woman of the Quick Dagger." And with that he walked away.

Eavan looked around the bar before the man spoke to her, after her rant. She hated ranting, especially about things such as those, but sometimes things had to be done. As she looked around the bar, which had quited down only a little from the harpers sweet music, something - or more so, someone - caught her eye.

He was sitting at the bar, a woman talking to him to his left. He looked young and he was very, very handsome to Eavan's eyes. She blushed slightly, looking at him before hearing the irratiable man talk to her again.

He just had to ruin the moment! She thought wickedly before turning back to him.

"I was taught, young, to trust no one completely, especially those who give you a bad feeling when you first meet them. Adventure you seek, yet you will not find with me. Farewell." She ended simply, glad when the man finally left her alone. She sat back down at the table, rubbing her temples with her fingers slightly as she heard someone approach. A smile came to her face.

"Tristan!" She called as the man was walking her way.

Tristan smiled at her when Eavan called over. He hit a few drunks against the shins with his cane before he could finally pass. "I don't think I scared him off that much, did I?" he grinned. "I do have that effect on people sometimes."

Strider recognized the look in that woman's eye. She had fallen for a man, across the room. He walked off, feeling rejected (of adventure, of course) and somewhat sad. But he couldn't figure why. He had only seeked adventure because of this woman and her mysteriousness, but then she turned and bit his head off! Ah, women! Especially mysterious ones. As he was thinking he ran into a man and got ale all over his shirt.

"Bloody....!" He bit back the last few words, his face puffing in anger.

Vondell finnished the song after awhile. He finnished off his glass of water, and went to get a new one. Von went to the bar and asked for a refill. With a scowl, the Inn keeper obliged to his request, and watched him carefully make his way back to his seat. It was then that Von noticed where Tristan had gone to. So he had made friends with the mysterious woman with the scar? Von shrugged away his curiosity as he made his way back to his seat by the hearth, making sure to stay clear of where a man had bumped into another one, causing his ale to spill all over him.

That could turn into a brawl, he thought as he sat back down on his stool, and put aside his harp. So might as well start playing again.
Can you play your pipes this time?
A voice asked in his mind.
That was what I was intending to do, Von said back to his gold fire lizard, Nelnya.
Yay! I always love the sound of the pipes better than that harp of yours. Maybe it's because it's alot like the wind through the rocks where I hatched, Nelnya replied, and an image of an ocean shore with rocks all about flashed through both the harper and fire lizard's mind.
I suppose you're right about that, Nelnya. They do sound alot alike, Von agreed. He layed his harp against the wall next to him, and took his set of pipes out of a pouch at his waste. With a deep inhail, he started to play a song with a moderate tempo and an intricate melody...

Eavan watched and made sure that the man had gone before turning and smiling at Tristan. She laughed at his comment, a rare thing for her, and added,

"Oh, but I would be terrified if I saw you approaching! He was right in his mind to run while he had the chance!" She said. She wasn't saying that at all to be mean, but to try and lighten her own mood...and, in thinking of that, she thought of her brother...unconscience, suffering, cold, poisen running through his veins, chilling his blood, causing him to became a tool for chaos and death and bloodshed...

Eavan blinked and looked down, quickly taking a sip of her ale. Then, she looked around...she needed to find a group of people that she could trust, that she could talk to about maybe going to the land of evil and saving her brother. She looked around the bar, thinking hard.

Hmm...cute man seems like a good canidate...cute, strong, face emotionless...their is something different about him. Woman beside him, cheerful, yet serious. Good travel companion? Tristan? Most definately. May be blind, but his hearing is excellent and his personailty stronger than many soldiers. Harper? He seemed strong, and could play music on the road. Always fun. Rude guy?

Eavan shuddered. She didn't even want to think about asking him. Although, he would be one of the most keen to going on such a venture...Eavan sighed. She would ask Tristan first.

"Tristan..." Eavan began, talking in a low voice, "I need to confide in you with something...something of utter importance." She paused, wondering how he would handle it.

Tristan's smile faded as Eavan's voice dropped and her tone had become serious. So she was in trouble. Was she a refugee? On the run for someone? Something? But how did she believe he could help her? Her situation had to be grave indeed then if she was willing to confide an almost complete stranger with her problems.
He nodded "We might as well find a more quiet place. If you prefer your matters to stay confidential of course.. Not many ears are able to hear better than mine but I've the feeling that many here have taken interest in you. "

Eavan nodded and then shook her head.

"I could tell many have taken interest in me since I entered..." She paused, her thoughts drifting back to the rude man before going back to the matter at hand, "but I think even more interest will be drawn if I leave the tavern with a complete stranger to talk when we could do so inside." She told him.

Eavan took a deep breath, trying to decide on where to start, how much to reveal, what approach she should take. She didn't even know if Tristan was a spy for the demons, someone that pretended to be a begger that was blind in order to gain her trust, then when he got the information he needed, poisened her in her sleep and took her to join her brother in their deadly fate. Eavan sighed again, starting to get a headache. Life was all about the risks you take. If you don't take risks, you will end up regretting it.

It was time to take a risk.

"Tristan...I am a Wolfen." She said. "A Pureblood. One of the last two." She began, and paused to see how he handled that part, before continuing.

Tristan's face grew pale but he checked his emotions. One of the last Wolfen.. who'd ever thought that? He knew that during the War almost all Wolfen had been strategically hunted down and taken. He knew for he'd helped the masters in Cercum accomplishing it. Forced or not, he'd killed.. murdered and he'd been punished for that. He frowned at Eavan, wondering why she would reveal her secret to him. She was probably in danger. But why him?
He nodded for her to go on, his throat dry although he'd just finished his ale. Why of all places he'd been he walked here into the last Pureblood, after all the pain he'd been through to forget his past.

Strider couldn't help but admire the woman for her spunk. He kept watch of her, smoking from a pipe.

Eavan looked into Tristan eyes, even though she knew he could not look into hers, trying to read them; read this thoughts. She could not. She sighed inwardly though, as he nodded for her to continue.

So far, so good. She thought to herself.
That's what you think.

Eavan rolled her eyes, glad that Tristan couldn't see that. He could have probably been confused on why she did so and then she would have to explain Flame and how she managed to befriend a dragon, even a miniature one; she really didn't want to do that quite yet.

"You see, my mother was a Pureblood, even though I hate to use that title. I like to call myself part-wolf, because that is what I am." She continued, her voice low. "She gave birth to twins, my brother and I, seventeen years ago last fall. When my brother and I where about seven, a band of odd looking men and various creatures came in and killed my mother and father, right before our eyes. Luckily, we were warned beforehand and our mother hid us in the cuboard before they got there, and told them that she sold us in a slave market. Because they grew angry, they killed her in cold blood, and my father also, for spite. They left quickly, trying to find us, my brother and me."

"After about an hour of hiding, we gathered our things and quickly left; distraught, scared, and confused. We went to a near-by friend, who took us into the woods to his sister, who trained us in the arts of healings, tracking, hunting, and swordplay or archery. She taught us about our rare talents and gifts...and about our blood; what could be done with it."

"We left her home after 5 years, setting out on our own. We traveled the world, fighting for those who could not fight for themselves everywhere we went. We were tracking a band of robbers down through the near-by woods younder 10 leagues or so, and making our way to this city and Inn, when they found us."

"It was an night attack. Their was only one, but it was the most up-to-date ceature created from the blood of a Wolven. We were asleep; foolish and unaware. It attacked me and somehow I managed to keep myself alive from it, but not coming out unscarred...or hurt." At that moment, Eavan traced her finger over the scar on her left cheek slowly before finishing,

"It took my brother, Tristan. Poisened him. It's only a matter of time before his blood will be pure enough to use for destruction...Tristan, I must save him."

Tristan closed his eyes, trying to absorb Eavan's words. So it was almost completed then. The quest of the Lords of Cercum for which every eldest boyin the land had to sacrifice their lives for.. If Eavan and her brother truely were the last of the Wolfen than he was sure that everything would be done to capture her too.

"So" Tristan started, not able to supress a tremble in his voice. "You want me to travel with you to Cercum to save your brother..?" He began to fully comprehend what she wanted. But that was impossible! He couldn't return there. After that almost fatal attack years ago, he deserted. If it became known he was still alive he would be killed, just as his family, but even more important Eavan would be discovered.

"I'm not sure whether I am the one to help you." Tristan answered slowly. "Things have happened.. I could never.." He didn't finish his sentence. He was sure that Eavan could find better men than him to help her.. After all he'd done, he didn't deserve her trust.

Stirder gave up on the woman even talking to him again, so he bought another ale and got up to leave.

"...I am a Wolfen" Those wispered words echoed in Amaran's ears. He had thought her odd scent to be distantly familiar: now memories rushed back , memories that were repressed by time and forgetfullness.

His mother, a tall fierce eyed wman with flame red hair, sat outside thier tent. She was facing away from the rest of the tribe-village, talking to a stranger with flaxen hair. She looked wild, not in the eye and face like his shapeshifter kin, but more of a feeling of wildness in the air around her. "Ma?" He questioned, curious about the stranger.

"Shhhh, Amaran, hush." She said in her husky voice, a sad smile on her face. "This is Tao." The woman bowed her head in acknowelegment. Amaran sat down next to his mother, who wrapped an arm around him "She is Wolfen, different from mortals, just like we are. She needs a place to hide from killers who would poison her. She'll be staying in our village for awhile. Be nice, and don't ever tell strangers of her. " She looked him straight in the eye. "Don't ever tell. If you ever meet stragners who aske about her, shift and fly strait to me, as fast you can." He gaped at her command. He was never allowed to shift in front of strangers: "to dangerous, to many slavers looking for a shifter" his mother would say. He nodded, looking at Toa. The wind blew her scent into his nose. It was strange...

Amaran pulled himself out of the memory as he saw the man called Strider begin to leave the tavern. With a nod to the woman beside him: he had only grunted when she spoke, he quickly left his seat and trailed the man. If he had heard this lady's confession, this man might have too, and if he was leaving right after he heard it it may not be for the best of reasons. He could be running home to tattle on this woman, to gain a pretty penny or two. If that were the truth, he'd feel the pain of tooth and claw.

Eavan looked again into Tristan's eyes. She was confused, she would admit. Yet, she almost never was confused about anything, really. She was a bright woman, despite what happened to her in her early childhood to...burden her learning.

"I don't understand..." She began, unsure what to say. Has he been to Cercum before? Could he be one of them? No, surely not Tristan...but that would explain why he didn't want to go back...

"Yes, that is my plan. I came into the Inn to find a few companions to come with me on this perilious journey; I picked you as one of them, as well as a few others in here that I have not meet or spoken to yet, but are hoping to soon."

"Tristan, I trust you."

Eavan added at the end, to try and help her cause. If he indeed had been their before, then he might be able to show her secret ways on how to manouver around their; sneek in, unnoticed by the gaurd. Eavan looked around, awaiting his answer, and she saw the rude man, Strider, leave and then the one that caught her eye follow. No! She thought. I must speak with him...both of them! She wondered where they where going. She would have to wait and find out, asking them last, after she asked the woman and the harper. She could track them easily.
