Alaina wordlessly followed Emma to the jet. Something about this mission felt dark-almost as if her past were about to return to haunt her-yet instead of being the hunters it felt as if they were the hunted. She quickly brushed away the grim thoughts and tried to focus on the mission at hand. If Emma felt this to be a trap, then they would need all their wits about them if they wanted to survive.

Ka'l patched himself into the frequency high ranking leaders and officials used for communications. After going through all the static, he finally came upon them saying "Waiting for the Mutant representatives..." Magneto turned to Ka'l inquisitively. Ka'l shook his head, saying "Not yet. Still need the X-Men representatives."
"Ah," Magneto sighed. "Charles's pets. I do miss him."
Ka'l lead against the sewer wall, staring upward as if he could magically lock all the leaders inside.

Alissa followed Both Emma and Alaina into the Jet. 'Please let me not have to use my powers.' She thought over and over.

Marie heard Alissa's thought. She put a hand on her shoulder, and sent her back this one thought Sometimes, things are thrown in our paths that none of us can expect. You at least have the advantage of a lifetime with your powers, while I have had barely a year. Is there not always a purpose in abilities? Just think, someday you may end up saving us all...

The Seemingly Nice But Actually Really Nasty Nazgul
School ate my life. *sigh*

The Jet was well on it's way towards Stark Tower, all the while the dark shadow grew inside Emma's mind. She couldn't shake this sense of foreboding. She hoped it was just her usual cynical self that was clouding her rational judgement.

"We're almost there" Emma spoke over her shoulder "Going to stealth mode" she said aloud before flicking a few switches on the panels in front of her.

Alaina sat quietly aboard the jet and stared out. Well, I guess we will soon discover what all this secrecy is about. she thought to herself. Everyone on the jet is uneasy. This can not be a good sign.

The large sprawling metropolis came into view, one rather tall building standing above all others. The shiny metallic name on the top of the building made it clear what it was
Stark Tower

"We're here, prepare for landing" Emma said, pressing buttons and manouvering the large jet to the roof of the building. Several other aircraft were already there.

The jet landed with little resistance, and Emma turned off the engines and set the security on.

"Let's go" she said as she stood up from the pilots chair. Her longe blonde hair swishing behind her.

Ka'l then heard Mystique's cool voice in his earpiece, "They've arrived. Commence?"
Ka'l looked at Magneto who nodded and said, "Affirmative. Norman, begin your attack."
Another voice came in the earpiece, "Yes, sir."

Mystique casually walked past the fire alarm trigger and set it off. She weaved her way past the evacuating crowds and into the security room. After quickly neutralising the two guards, she began to initiate a lockdown in the upper floors. Nothing that Magneto couldn't handle but it was a different story for the S.H.I.E.L.D.

With the fire alarm blaring above them, Juggernaut began to break a hole in the floor to allow them to emerge. Ka'l mentally activated his two laser cannons and prepared them.

Alarms started blaring within minutes of there arrival. Emma swore under her breath and looked over at the youngsters.
"Get on your guard" she barked "Now!"

Emma sensed the panic within the building. But couldn't seem to focus on who or what was causing the panic. A silhouette began to appear through the tall buildings. It was flying towards them, and fast. Emma tensed up, preparing for the worst and instinctively walking in front of the others.
Within seconds the silhouette took shape as it landed a few feet away from them. Emma relaxed somewhat.
"Carol" she said cooly at the blonde woman standing before her.

"Emma" came the equally cool reply "Seems we've been set up, but I have no idea who the mole is. I was on my way here when I got word from Tony to come meet you here"

"I've had a very bad, ominous feeling about this meeting with Fury since the get go. Though, I don't think he's the one setting this up. It's someone else, someone lurking in the shadows"

The building shook with noticeable force. Emma looked over at the kids and back at the masked blonde woman.
"So what's the plan, Ms Marvel?"

Juggernaut delivered the finishing blow into the floor, breaking itit open. The debris created a ramp, allowing the forces to advance. They had burst their way through a storage room. Ka'l ran upon the room and pointed his right arm around the room, scanning for any humans. The mercenaries and the rest of his team quickly followed.
Magneto ordered, "Alpha Team, under Morcutio. Beta Team, under Juggernaut. Gamma Team, under Bullseye. Delta Team, under me. Move."

Ka'l lead them through the northwestern staircase, as dictated by the plan, his long overcoat billowing as he ascended. When they reached the desired floor, they breached in, taking a squad of S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers by surprise. Ka'l pointed his arm at them, charged his lasers and destroyed the squad. He reported to Magneto, "Morcutio reporting. Destination arrived. Encountered and quickly neutralised small band of resistance. Advancing to target."

They came across a door that was sealed shut with heavy steel due to the lockdown. "Stay back," Ka'l ordered, aiming at the weakest section in the door. He altered his laser slightly so that it could cut through the door. He worked his way from the top of the door to the bottom until the steel door split in two and fell apart. Reseting his lasers for combat mode, they marched forward, hopefully to success.

Alaina swore under her breath as the ground shook. This was so much like her nightmares-so reminiscent of the crimes she had once committed in her past. Get a grip, girl. she chided herself. Remember the simulations you have been through. She gritted her teeth as the building shook once more, doing her best to remain impassive as she waited for Ms. Marvel or Emma to give them orders.

Alissa began to tremble and held her hands into fists against her stomach she could feel the plasma wanto to burt out, she couldn't control it. "Miss Frost." She said scared.

Emma heard Alissa's voice from behind her, even amidst the chaos below she could still sense her overwhelming fear. She gently entered her mind.
"Relax, Alissa. Listen to my voice and my voice only. I have faith in you, do not give in to fear. Hold your ground and do whatever it takes to stay safe. I'll protect you all as much as I can"

Emma turned back to Ms Marvel.
"They're coming up here, we need to stand our ground."

"No, you must take the kids and get out of here, I'll cover you." Ms Marvel retorted sharply.

Emma looked at her angrily
"Are you serious?" she asked, her eyes blazing "That jet will be a great big target to whoever it is, that's on there way up here. We must stand our ground, I can send word for backup. All it takes is one word from me and they'll be here as fast as they can"

Ms Marvel moved closer to Emma, and whispered low in her ear
"Do you think these kids are capable to handle whatever it is?"

"I trained them myself. They are capable" Emma replied inside Carol Danvers' head. "They'll be fine"

Just as Emma said the words, the entire building shook.

"Look sharp, they're coming"

Ka'l was racing past the lift when it suddenly opened to reveal Magneto and Theta Squad. He was even more puzzled when Magneto said, "Change of plans, Ka'l. It seems that Charles's group is not among those trapped in the conference. You're coming with me to confront the X-Men while the rest of the group eliminate the targets."

Ka'l asked, "Do you trust them to do the job?", his voice finding its way through the gas mask he wore. Magneto glared at him darkly before saying, "Of course, I do. Now come."
Ka'l turned to his squad and said, "Anti-mutant rounds, now." Once they finished changing their ammunition, the last magazine locked in place with a cheerful click, they joined Magneto in the lift. As the lift rose to the roof level with the landing pads, Magneto commanded softly, "Do not engage them until I order you to. Anyone who does so will die. Remember that." The lift opened with a soft ding and the mercenaries began to pour out of the lift and took defensive positions as Magneto solemnly walked forward, lifting his hands, with Ka'l on his right hand.

Ka'l quickly scanned the opposition around him. Two adult females, two young females, and two offspring. Hardly a challenge, Ka'l thought. Quickly he calculated their chances of survival. Two of the adults were familiar, known to the Masters of Evils, so Ka'l calculated a 35% chance. None of the rest's chances went over 15. He had no idea why Magneto wanted to deal with them. They could just as easily wipe them all out.
