Kathryn chuckled. "Yeah, I guess it would since you told me yourself you weren't any good with books. But it must have some importance than if a "self-proclaimed non-reader" is interested in it." she said with a wink. "And yes, I do sing-used to love it too until well, less just say, I met Mrs. Alford."

"I used to love running laps until I met Mr. Bray. It's cool that you sing, I'd have to listen to you some time," he said, glancing at Kathryn to see her reaction...

Kathryn smiled shyly before adverting her gaze. "Sure, maybe sometime," she said softly as she met Don's eyes again. "Although, I do not know if the classical pieces that I learn will be very entertaining to you," she added with an impish grin.

"I have done some pop-utterly hated my voice on it though. Never really tried country-and I have definitely never tried rock," she added with a slight chuckle.

Jacen followed Mrs. Allan out of the Library, his head spinning... everything seemed to be spiralling out of control and he had no idea why. He hoped in his heart of hearts that they were in for little more than a telling off from Mrs. Allan and perhaps detention. Well he was probably going to get detention. He wasn't about to let Kira take the fall for what he had gotten her into. Why did she want the others too? It was only Jacen who had shouted at Miss. Cook, the others weren't involved. He was glad Matt and Larain got away with it... he just hoped they didn't do something stupid now.
'So much for that book...' He muttered under his breath kicking at a stone as he trudged along the courtyard.
Mrs. Allan's back straightened at the mention of a book but Jacen never noticed... he was too busy looking back to see it Kira was still there or if any of the others had decided to follow...

((I'm sorry if others feel we (I) am running away at my own pace. I have a habit of doing that but I only do it cos I worry that the RP becomes stagnant if nothing happens for too long then eventually dies. I have a rough idea of a story in my head but i'm just really making it up as I go along. Don't feel pressured that everyone has to join into the library story... the beauty of RP is that so many threads can run along at the one time, crossing over over and over, intertwining with each other. Brilliant example of this was how Don knows about the book too... (a book that hasn't been found yet I might add ) the Jacen/Kira/Matt/Larain thread need not be the only piece of drama that's going on. So venture forth Alridge alumni... let's create a story to end them all!))

"You play guitar? For how long?" Kathryn asked. "I suppose so," she said with a shrug in response to his "you don't know what you are good for until you try" statement. "Guess, I'll just have to start to look for a song...unless you have any recommendations..."

Don shrugged.
"Um... I've played for," he counted on his finger, "four years now. I started playing the year before I was sent here to Albridge."

Just then, Don saw Jacen and Kira following Mrs. Allen out of the library. He wondered what was going on, but mentally shrugged it off and went back to talking to Kathryn.

"I can't recomend a song until I've heard you sing," he said...

"Fair enough." Kathryn replied. From the corner of her eye she saw Jacen and Kira following Mrs. Allen. "Wonder what happened," she murmured before turning her attention back to Don. "So you have been playing the guitar for four years? You must be good." she remarked.

When Mrs Allan had arrived Matt had quickly dived behind the first bookcase. He shouldn't have done that: his brown hair was covered with a layer of fine dust, dust was getting in his nose and he could only just keep himself from sneezing. After the trio had left the Library he got on his feet again while sneezing once or twice.
"Oef.. that was close.." Matt said relieved to Larain. "Why would Allan give Jacen and Kira detention for a book?" he said, raising his eyebrows. That's what it was. Mrs Allan equalled detention and she wouldn't come up here for nothing..

Kira strolled forward at a slight faster pace to move herself ahead of Mrs. Allen and walk next to Jacen. Nudging Jacen slightly on the shoulder, Kira was about to begin to tell Jacen something when she remember Mrs. Allen could hear every word she would say.

Man, I need a distraction, Kira thought to herself while looking around hopelessly for something that would catch Mrs. Allen's eyes.

It was not for around 5 more minutes that something finally popped up to Kira. Mrs. Allen was leading them to some room in the guidance office in order to falsely accuse both Jacen and her for some wierd finding of a book that shouldn't be found. (In truth, this was the only reason Kira would now want to find this book.) However, from being in this area for multiple times that did not involve heading to detention or getting in trouble in any manner, Kira vaguely remembered which hallway the main power room was located in.

"Mrs. Allen," Kira finally asked a few hallways down from the one she needed, "Before we actually are slaugthered for something that neither of us were aware of having any sorts of consequences, may I at least head off to the bathroom for a moment?"

"I'm not that good, I could be better. I'm not in the band, so I dont get much practice here. Maybe once a week if I'm lucky," Don replied as they came to the library door. "How long have you been singing?"

Larain bit her bottom lip as she watched Mrs. Allen leave with Kira and Jared. Were they in trouble because of the book? Her thoughts were echoed by Matt who had also stayed hidden from Mrs. Allen's peircing gaze.
"I don't know. Maybe there's something more to the book than we know," she replied in close to a whisper, hoping another horrible teacher wouldn't come up the stairs to catch them. "Maybe we should follow them to see what devil Allen reveales... or we could keep looking for the book."

"About 5 years-if you count these three years here. I took voice lessons back home in California for a couple of years from Mrs. Hart. Then I had to quit because my parents sent me here." Kathryn sighed. "She was a good teacher-helped fuel my passion for music." she said as they came to the library door.
