I have been seriously considering getting a site for graphics, but I am really unsure of where to get one that will allow me to put up my own layout and such.

freewebs.com has a free site and I am sure you can use your own layout

Oh.. I should probably also ask if there is any place that will allow you to have your own domain name.. or is that too much to be asking for websites?

I did have a free host at one point that allowed me to have my own domain name, but it was almost 3 years ago, and I really have no idea what it was. There are very few places that will allow you to it.

However, on my website (http://skyward-thoughts.com), I could host you at http://yourname.skyward-thoughts.com. You would be able to have your own layout, no ads, ect ;)

I am still browsing around because I really would not want to burden you.

I am wondering, is HTML universal with developing websites?

It wouldn't be a burden at all - I already host 6 people, and it's no trouble :) I do it because I enjoy helping people ;)

And yes, HTML is universal to have a website, unless you use a free layout/generated one. But it's still good to know HTML to be able to edit things yourself.
