Trish gaped in awe as Ash became a falcon. She stood and watched him, wonder in her eyes.

I bet with my help you could fly faster than anything else, she said mentally, wondering if he could hear her...

"Yeah about," Janet started shifting positions a little, "have you ever read, well, my mind?" It wouldn't change anything, she was just curios. She had been thinking about him a lot today. Did he know anything about what she'd been thinking?

Corban paused, taken by surprise by the question. "No, I haven't." He said, carefully. "I don't read minds too much. I feel a bit too intruding, sometimes. And," He shuddered. "Sometimes, it's better not to know." He smiled, as he down over at her curiously. "Why?" he asked, a bright glint in his eyes.

Janet's cheeks turned scarlet. "Oh, no reason," she answered looking down at her feet shifting weight from one to another. "I was, um, just curios." That could have counted as one of those awkward moments. An amused smirk appeared on her face. His reaction if she had said, "Well I was thinking about you all day" could have been interesting.

Corban blinked as a blush crept up his neck. All day? He thought. They had just met, hadn't they? "I... All day?" Corban asked, incredulously. "But, we just met, did we not? How could you think of me if you didn't even know me?"

Shock sprang into Janets face. Great! He didn't need to read her mind to know what she was thinking because evidently she was stupid enough to say it out loud! Now would be a really good time to have the power to melt into the floor or turn invisible. "I... um.... I...." smooth she was not. Janet ran her fingers through her hair trying to come up with something to say. "That wasn't suppose to be said out loud." Well as long as they were telling each other secrets, she might as well continue. "This morning at school, when I almost bumped into you, you kind of made an impression."

Corban nodded in understanding. He could tell that Janet was embarrassed, at very least, that she had spoken when she wished to have stayed silent. "I see." He said, thinking back to that morning. "Yes... Yeah, I remember that." He squinted at her. "Are you in my math class?" He asked, trying to remember if he'd seen her face amongst everyone in the math classroom.

Trish closed her eyes when Ash soared above the trees. She couldn't see him, but she could feel where he was in the air. She gathered winds that were already blowing, and sent them at the right angle into Ash's wings. She manipulated the wind around him that if he just flapped his wings one more time, the current would be caught under him and he'd soar.

This is how, she spoke back, wondering how he felt. Controlling air, Trish always wondered what it would be like to fly, to have that freedom...

Trish had never used her power to such an extent before in her life. She spread out her arms and let a breeze blow around her while she kept the winds carrying Ash. She almost fealt like she herself was flying, even though she wasn't moving, and her feet were on the ground.

When Ash landed next to her, Trish lowered her arms and crouched down.
I'm not sure exactly how I do it. It's like I just concentrate and ask the wind to do these things, and it just does it.

She felt so comfortable and safe around Ash. She had never felt this way for such a long time, she almost forgot what it was like. Then she remembered a thought she had had earlier that day on the school steps.
"I need a hero", she had murmered to herself. Had she found it?

Trish looked up at Ash now back as a human. She wasn't alone, but then, there had also been the boy who had moved rocks. Were there more of them? She realized that it was starting to get dark, but she didn't want to go yet. She wished she could stay here. But, today was Thurseday, and there was homework to do. Trish decided that one night's homework missing wouldn't matter.

Her grey eyes stared up into his brown ones. She felt like she was in a trance, and realized she was blushing. Nervously she looked down, not sure what to say now...

"No, I'm in your english class," Janet replied very thankful for the subject changed. She looked up at the darkening sky. How long had they been standing here talking? It couldn't have been that long... could it?

Trish bit her lip, and looked back up at Ash.
"No, no, you didn't do anything wrong, it's nothing like that. It's just," Trish stammered, trying to find the words to say. "It's just that I... I don't know. Too many things have happened in one evening."

Trish gazed off to the side, a content look in her eyes, her face emotionless.
"It's just that I've never felt like this around anyone before..."
