Eh, I'm not a fan of Broadbent. He seems to pop up in everything and plays the same kind of characters. If he and Ray Winstone were not going to be in it, I'd be a lot happier. If they were looking for two British actors for those roles, they could have picked better. At least someone who can master more than one accent. *glares at Ray Winstone*
Sequels are always worth watching if the same cast and creative team are behind it. There's always room for disappointment, but they can never be truly, truly bad if everything you liked before is back.
*rollseyes* And how many people would be complaining if Harrison Ford was trying to play Indy as a 40-something when he is in fact now 60-something? "Like, OMG jeez, he's sooooo, like old but he's jumping round like a 27 year old"
It makes sense to me for not only Harrison Ford to be older (he's hardly ancient) but for the character to have aged as well. Like when he misjudged the distance between the car and he landed in the seat. That's because he's not what he used to be, but at least he's realized it. If every move was perfect, it would be unrealistic.

Harrison Ford is old, yeah, but it shows that characters are not outside of humanity, are do age, as do the rest of us...
I'm excited, and i really hope Shia doesn't mess anything up. These films are great... and each one seemed to flow nicely into the next. If this one doesn't... it'll be ruined for me.

I am so excited about this movie! The trailer looks so cool... and new. It's funny how it gives away nothing about the plot.
Cate looks amazing, though I'm with Darky: I hope Shia doesn't mess anything up.

The moment his shadow put the hat on and THAT theme song kicked in, it felt like electricity through me. Jeeeeeeez, I'm looking forward to that one. :-D

It looks like it's going to continue with tradition and be really good....or so I hope.
I'm surprised how well Shia LaBeouf fits in. I was rather iffy about him, but then again, the last thing I saw him in was Even Stevens, so I haven't seen him in anything serious....
EEEEE Harrison Ford! still looks good

Sooo, anyone else seen it? Your thoughts?
::Major Spoiler Warning::
It didn't compare the the trilogy. But, I mean, it's unfair to expect it to. It was a solid movie, but ntohing spectacular.
I was rather disappointed with the plot itself. I mean, aliens with crystle skulls? It just wasn't for me. But, it was wonderful to see the gang back in action. Harrison Ford was phenomenal, as usual. But, ohmygosh, he was old! It was ncie to see Marion back. And they were sweet together. And te ending was lovely. Shia whatshisname was a great addition to the movie! He was hilarious, and was great as Indy's, well, youknowwhat. I was really happy with him. And, Cate was fantastic as well. There were also some really funny parts. The part with the "snake rope" was classic! And there were some more, but my mind's drawing a blank right now. But, for me, the best part was seeing it with my dad. He was so excited it was funny... remembering how he went to see Temple of Doom and Last Crusade on opening night X number of years ago... That was really nice.
So, overall, it was a good, solid movie, but had nothing on the original trilogy.

I agree 100%, Thain. Good, very strong, but not great. I LOVED seeing Harrison Ford back in the fedora. I still enjoyed Last Crusade more, however.

Same here! The Last Crusade had the best ending they could have ever come up with. This just didn't compare.

I dunno, I absolutely loved it and thought it slotted in nicely to the overall story. Harrison was amazing, as always and looked great too. Word has it he did the majority of his own stunts, which is fab.
The return of Marion was great and she looked as beautiful as she always did. Still feisty and will always be my fave 'Indy girl'.
Shia was really good too, I'm starting to really warm to him as an actor. He played his role really well and if the rumours are true, I look forward to seeing him reprise his role as Mutt.
Cate Blanchett was just a joy to watch in every single scene she was in. I was mesmerised by her and in some ways I even sympathised with her character, though it was mainly at the end.
The plot didn't bother me as much as it seems to have other people. Way I see it, is it was a natural progression. It was set in 1957 at the height of aliens, conspiracies, flying saucers and paranoia. But it added a mythic feel to it with Eldarado. It blended the two elements very well imho.

To each his own... I'm glad you enjoyed it.
But, hold on. What are these rumours about Mutt? Are they making another one? Gosh, I sincerly hope not.

Rumours abound that a new set of movies are to be made, with Mutt the central character and Indy having a Henry Jones Snr role.

Phoenix, ohmygosh... NO! I really, really hope they don't do that! How can they have a Indiana Jones type thing starring Mutt? Even if he is... yeah. I hope that's just a rumour...
PD, hm... well, I would say that, instead of seeing PC for the third time, you should see Indy at least once. Especially if it's only $6. It's not horrible. It didn't ruin the series like another trilogy I know. *ahem* It was great fun.
Um, as for spoilers, I hate giving things away... lol, maybe later, but, then again, maybe not.

I'm pretty sure it's set. Steven Spielberg really likes Shia, so it's a very good possibility it will happen somewhere down the line.
I too recommend going to see it. Ignore what other people say and it you want to go see it, go. It's a great movie. But I like Willie Scott...what do I know
