Corban nodded. "Well, I'd say it's been around half an hour or so, if your clock is anything to go by." He said off-handedly, not knowing he had been reading her mind. He motioned through the window. to the the clock hanging on the wall behind her. "And... Well, do you mind if I come in?" He asked. He was a bit tired of leaning against a window frame.

Ash looked at her for a moment, before bringing her face up to look at his face with his hand gently. "Do you not think I might feel the same way?" He asked quietly, almost in a whipser. His eyes looked into hers - her beautiful eyes. He wanted the moment to last forever, to never change.
Of course, that is when the pain came.
Ash suddenly bit his lip and closed his eyes, trying hard not to scream. He fell onto the ground on his knees, his head throbbing. It felt like thousands of daggers where going through him at once, starting at his head, then going through his entire body. He didn't scream, but blood slipping down his chin from his lips from him biting so hard not to. He could barely think straight, because all his thoughts were focused on the sudden and unfamiluar pain. Only one 'normal' thought came to his head.
What is happening to me?

Trish let Ash lift her head to face his, trying to keep her eyes from watering. She never dreamed of a moment like this happening to her. She wished it would never end, that it would go on forever. Again her eyes met his. He had such beautiful eyes...
Her throught process was cut off when Ash suddenly collapsed in obvious pain. She fell to her knees beside him, and grabbed his arm to keep him steady. Trish saw that he couldn't talk, and so didn't ask what was happening.
She hoped and prayed that Ash would be alright. She didn't want to loose her hero. Not when she just found him...

Ash was gasping for breathe. He didn't know what was happening to him, and he didn't even know that someone was trying to help him. He only felt their presence - he couldn't think. But, in his mind, he saw something. Not only saw something, but heard something as well. Or someone.
Ash... The voice whispered to him. Ash...the moment has come. You took the first step into revealing yourself, so you must lead them. You must find them all and bring them to my home. We have so much to talk about, Ash. Your abilities, your strengths...their abilities, and their strengths. There is much that needs to be learned before It comes. Hurry Ash. Tomorrow night. Come to my home and bring the girl and Corban with you. The others will follow, but you three must come first.
Then Ash saw a picture of a house, old and broken, on top of Old Man's hill. The voice faded away as did the pictures and with both of those, the pain did also. Ash's eyesight returned to him as he gasped for breath. He opened his eyes and looked down at the ground, confused, his hand grasping his chest.

Trish stayed by Ash's side, gripping his arm tightly. Finally it seemed the the pain he was going through faded, and he lay gasping for breath.
"Ash..." Trish trailed off, loosening her grip a little bit...

Ash, after a few more moments, looked up at Trish. "What happened to me?" He asked, his voice still a little weak.

"You just collapsed... you looked like you were in pain... I didn't know what to do... Are you alright?" Trish asked, not being able to keep her eyes from watering, but at least she kept the tears back. Her face was emotionless, but her eyes full of worry...

"I have no idea. That has never happened before...I have never felt pain so deep in so many different places at once." Ash explained, looking back at the ground, trying to figure it out. "I...I..." He wanted to tell Trish everything, everything he heard and had seen, but he didn't want to sound like a fool. Normally, he wouldn't care but...
...he didn't want to lose her.

Trish relaxed a little, now that Ash didn't seem to be in pain anymore. She put a hand on his cheek, and turned his head so he was looking at her.
"Tell me," she said softly, keeping her emotions under control. Outside she seemed stable and maybe slightly worried, but inside she was trembling. Their faces were only a few feet from each other where they sat...

Ash was surprised when she did the same thing he just did a few moments ago. As he looked at her, again, he was tempted to steal a kiss and then turn into a dog and run. But, he didn't. "I heard a woman's voice in my head..." He began and then paused, waiting for her to run, to slap him, to let go, anything.

A confused look crossed Tris's face, but other than that, she didn't flinch. He listened to her and all her troubles, so she was going to listen him out.
"And... what did the voice say?" She asked, keeping her voice from shaking...

Ok, that thought Janet hadn't said out loud. She quirked an eyebrow at Cordan wondering if he'd done it one purpose or out of habit. No matter. "Oh yes! Come in," she hadn't meant to leave him standing there. She went to the door an opened it. "Would you like something to drink or something to snack on? I believe we have soda and chips and dips."

"That's alright. I ate not too long ago, so I should be fine." He smiled at her. "So, tell me, I'm curious, do you remember ever 'discovering' your... Power, at all? I don't have any memory of the beginning of mine." He was beginning to wonder... Were Janet and he somehow... Connected? The pendent... The powers... It all seemed very strange. And, because of their odd connection, Corban was beginning to feel a bit... Closer to her. More connected. Yes, they had just met, but he was sure they were on the brink of something big.

Janet laughed, not at his question but at the memory that surfaced. "Yes, I got mad and my mother and sent her face flying across the room on accident. It came as a surprise considering I was at least three ft from it. Though Mom says I always have done strange things, but nothing on that scale. I believe I was six at the time." She could still see the look on her mom's face. A mix of shock and fear it had been. "You said you don't remember when you first used yours? I'm not sure if I'd want to know what people were thinking. Too many chances to get hurt."

Corban laughed at her story. It was humorus, trying to picture an angry child using mind-powers to throw an object. On the subject of himself, he shrugged. "Yeah, I feel that way alot. Believe me, though, I've learned to keep my mouth shut. I would always talk about people's thoughts... I suppose I didn't know that it was out of the ordinary that I could read minds. I got sent to time out alot as a little kid. Hurting peoples feelings... Offending people... Getting into fights at school..." He sighed. "I'll just say that sometimes I think I know alot more than anyone would want to know."

"What do you know about me?" She didn't know what made her ask. She just asked. After she asked it, she thought of the rather large downside to knowing that. It would be safer not to know what he knew. But she wanted to know. Besides, she'd been able to close out feelings before. She could close out anything that he said that she didn't like. Right? What he thought didn't matter. He was just a knew friend. Right?
