Sydney rushed into the Great Hall, her reddish hair pulled back into a messy bun. A pair of reading glasses sat crookedly on her reddened face; she had run all the way there.

She grinned seeing that she hadn't missed anything too important and took a short time to let her long hair down and remove her glasses. She mentally prayed as she walked down the walkways in between tables that no one had seen her in such an unflattering state.

"Ellie!" She called out loudly over the noisy crowd and jumped up and down waving her arm, still managing to move. Still out of breath she slumped forward on her friend's shoulder, giving a breathy laugh, "My, I am out of shape."

Albus Dumbledore swept into the room, his red robes dragging on the floor behind him. The new year had begun and he was ready for it. New students and teachers to learn about, new bonds forming. A new year meant a blank slate, and he meant to make the most of it. [

Ah, the young people were quite stirred up over the Triwizard Tournament. He however was more than unsure about letting his students participate, it was not in his nature to want to put them in danger. But they all looked so excited that he could not allow himself to dampen their spirits with warnings.

He made his way up to the podium and muttered a spell under his breath so that his voice would be magnified. Taking his wand out from under his sleeve he tapped the podium and called out to the student population, "Students! Welcome to another year at our wonderful Hogwarts. I have but a few comments that I would like to make, if you would induldge an old man, before I allow you to continue with your own speaking and musings."

Ron smiled at all the talk. "I think that Fred and George would be great to enter!" He said. "But, they'd kill each other before the other one got to join. Only one from each school, correct?" He asked, looking at Hermione.

Sam heard the talk going on down the table with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Fred and George, also Neville. He couldn't resist, he had to put his input in. "Eh, Fred! You should try to join." He lowered his voice. "I know of a spell, make you older." He gave the twins a crooked smile.

Harry looked over at Roxy as well when Hermione asked her if she was going to join the tournament. "Yes, I think I am. Why not? It sounds like it will be an experience..." Roxy was a daredevil, anything that was risky she would do, Ryan on the other hand was shrugging, he wasn't sure but when Ophelia and Ellie looked at him... "I think I will"

Sirius flew across the Mediterranean Sea, nothing residing in his mind except the thought of his godson, Harry, and his well-being. The twelve years he spend anguishing in Azaban was torturous enough. But being forced to forsake his duty as a godfather and leave Harry, his best friend's son, in the hands of negligent relatives made it all the worse. He would rather confront Voldemort than go through that horrific experience again. For a while, he laid low in a tropical island, partly because he wanted to stay as far as he could from the Ministry and also partly because he wanted to experience the sun again. Living in the stormy dungeon island gave Sirius absolutely no comfort with the sun, nor was living in the Forbidden Forest.

Buckbeak cried out as she flapped her wings slowly and steadily. In the two months that they spend together, they had slowly developed a bonding. Much like he did with Crookshanks. It was fitting. Two convicts, wrongfully accused and sentenced to a miserable and horrible end. Sirius brushed his hand lightly against Buckbeak's neck as they flew north.

Raven looked over to Hermione for a last time, then she stood up. Maybe she could find something in the library...a spell which could help her, something which could solve her problems.
She knew magic couldn't give her the answer to her problems and she knew magic couldn't help her to handle her life, but this was out of her mind now. She was ready to do this on any risk, no matter what it would mean to her. no matter which consequences would occur. She would do anything which prevented her of becoming a murderer.

"That's fine" Hermione said "At least we could have a Gryffindor to represent us. I'd be rather upset if the Hogwarts Champion was a Slytherin!" she added, laughting and giving a look at the Slytherin table.

"Ehi Sydney!" Ellie smiled when she saw her friend running in the Great Hall "How are you? Heard about the other schools coming tonight?"

Ophelia scooped up a pile of books from the table that she had been resting there and ignored the arrival of new people into the hall. As always, Ophelia believed that she had her mind on higher matters. She flicked her blonde hair and took a cream cracker from a bowl on the table to take in case she got hungry while she looked through her books.

Of course. Everyone else had their own friends to deal with. Not letting it get under his skin, Jared turned his attention to catching up on some reading he'd been wanting to get done, taking several books out of his bag and setting them on the table, before flipping through the first and opening it where a bookmark had marked his place.

"George is....well, I think he had some business to take care of," Fred said with a wink. "Perhaps I shall summon him, eh?" He actually considered the idea for a moment, then shook his head. Turning with interest towards Sam, he too lowered his voice. "Do you really? Find me later. I want to hear about this." He rejoined the conversation. "Honestly, Hermione, do you really think a Slytherin would be able to make it through the tournament?" Fred put all the distaste possible into the word Slytherin. "You have to have courage. They'd just turn their cowardly skins and run. And didn't you just mention something about being noble?"

Hermione laughted, agreeing with what Fred just said "You're right" she said "Anyway, forget about joining. I'm sure Dumbledore will find a way to avoid us to join. Like some age-spell, things like that." she added.

Ophelia opened one of the books and skimmed forward a few pages. She looked up from the spell she was reading momentarily and looked up at the other Ravenclaw students. "You would think Harry Potter would go in for the tournament, wouldn't you?" she commented. "Just the kind of heroics he goes in for."

Tiffany looked at Sam. "What was all that about?" She asked, an identical smile on her face.

She nodded and smiled, "I've heard! It's going to be spectacular," she replied with a clapping of her hands. "I can't wait to meet someone from the other schools." Sydney let her arms slip off her friend. She waved to the rest of the Ravenclaw's and hurried back to her own Gryffindor table. After she took a seat at the table and poured herself some pumpkin juice and listened to the different conversations around her, far too excited to speak, and unconciously turned a bit pinker at the mention of the other Weasly twin.

(Do we all know the rules of the tournament or should I have Dumbledore say them?)
