"I'm not too bad. I don't like heights and small places, but I can generally deal with them, why?" she asked. Just then another thought occurred to her. "Just how far is the drop, and how narrow of a space are we talking about?" she called back down to him as she moved carefully down to the next foothold.

"Well, it's getting narrower, but not that bad... and lets just say that if either falls, it's a long drop," Don said, taking a look down, and seeing the flickering of the torch he tossed at the bottom. "When it comes to this sort of stuff, I'm alright. I mean, when you grow up in an old manor with all kinds of freaky passages, you kind of get used to it."

"I'm sorry," Kira apologized, "I just I was just over my head because I am in this grimy place and John scared me to death. That would be cool if you can help find the book, and John too, if he wants, but we really need to get out of these nasty tunnels in order to do that and perferably before I permenentally smell like a rat."

"Lovely," Kathryn remarked at the news of the drop. As moved down the next foothold, she lost her footing, and gave a cry as she nearly slipped off. Grabbing the metal sides as tightly as she could, she drew in ragged breaths as she struggled to regain her balance.

"Sure thing" she gave a relived laugh and turned to open the door. A loud groan escpaed the door as she did so "Eeeek; i should really oil this sometime." She apoligised quietly before slipping through the narrow opening and into the dorms. "Here you go Kira; the last place they'd look for you; your own room." She grinned "and if they do come then just hide in the passages."

John remained oddly silent as he followed Mary and Kira through the passages. Mainly because he didn't want to get himself entangled in a girl's quarrel, a valuable lesson he learned years ago. But partly because he did not expect Mary to defend him so viciously. Granted, they were friends since he stepped foot in this school but he wasn't aware of the depth of it. Finally they reached what John assumed was their destination. Mary opened the door, revealing...the girls' dorm. How ironic that John thought of brilliant and complex schemes to get into here when he was here right now.

Kira did not fully agree but smiled nonetheless from enjoying the thought process behind Mary's actions.

Climbing out, Kira stumbled into one of the back hallways. Standing up, she took a good look at her exit. It had only ever appeared to be an air vent, or something likewise, for all of these years, and Kira was dumbfounded in how much more its value was.

"You two are coming also, right?" Kira stumbled out once the thought of being abandoned popped into her head.

"Yeah, I think so..." Kathryn called back down to him, as she tried to regain her nerves, her face pale in the darkness from fright. Oh, girl what have you gotten yourself into? she thought. When her breathing returned to a calmer rate, she took a tentative step downward again. "So you live in an old manor?" she asked Don, wanting to take her mind off what just happened. "Must have been fun for you to explore..." she remarked.

"Haha yeah sure....i'm not sure that John should come into the girls dorms....i'm sure he's been here before." She laughed, though it had a bitter ring to it. She shut the door behind them and spied Matt down the other end of the corridor. "Ahem" she coughed louadly and pointedly looked at him. "Becuase of course boys arn't allowed in the girls dorms."

"That doesn't stop they from coming," Kira joked with her back turned towards Matt and looking down at Mary and John. "Uh... if we are going to find this book, we should walk in private about what exactly to do. I have my own room, after much.. basically bloodshed, and, I can get over having a guy in my room. So, how would that be for planning purposes?"
