"If I move we might lose him." He was still crashing into the other one but in the process of doing so, his own fighter was taking a hard beating. Sparks and smoke flew out of the engine.

Anakin's eyes were bent and focused. He did not want to pull up, but is seemed it was the right thing to do. He hesitated before he gave Eva an answer. "I....I copy." The second after he said that the other fighter crashed into him, breaking off half a wing from Anakin's fighter.

Eva pulled in closer, but suddenly felt an impact on her right wing. "ANAKIN!!" she roared into the radio. She felt herself descending. "Gold leader to gold base, Gold one and Gold leader going down."

Anakin's ship made a nose dive for a few moments. He tried to take control over the ship, and did have it steady for a while, but he knew it wouldn't hold on long. He then heard Eva scream into the head set. He crinched at the volume of it. He turned to look behind him, and sure enough her fighter's wing was missing as well.

Eva repeated the message a few more times, then saw the ground come suddenly toward her cockpit, and felt a great jerk forward. A bit more dust and debris went up, and she was down. She looked for the ejection handle, but her boot was caught on something...she tried to yank it out, but the heat....she was drowsy. Just when it was taking over, someone opened the cockpit.

It was Anakin who opened the cockpit. He smelt of smoke and dust mixed together. Apparently he crashed as well. He grabbed underneath Eva's body and started to lift her up but noticed she was caught on something. He groaned as he tried to figure out what was caught.

Eva was a fraction of an inch away from elbowing him in the stomach, but was too exhausted from the heat and fumes to do so. When she felt her boot caught again, she tried to move her foot again, but it was such an effort that she gave up before long. When he finally got her out and asked if she was alright, she answered, "Uh-huh...I'm fine...."

For once, it seemed in his life, he was concerned for Eva. He took a good look at her, making sure she wasn't missing anything. His cloak and tunic was dirty and burned. "Well, no flying for me until I get another fighter." His hand gestured to his fighter which was now caught on fire.

Eva closed her eyes and sighed, shaking her head and smiling. "We'd better get back to the control center. She got up and stood on her own, walking normally and keeping the miniscule pain in her ankle secret.

Anakin let out a sigh and tried to dust off his clothes, but it was no use. He replied to Eva saying, "That's a couple miles from here, we won't make it before night fall." He then felt a sharp pain in his right eye. He rubbed it and found that there was definately some debris in his eye, but he surely wasn't going to ask Eva to peer into his eye to see what it was.

Eva shrugged. "Whatever, I don't care. We have the rest of the afternoon....I don't mind walking." She took her hair and pulled it back to keep it off her neck. The desert sun was as hot as ever.

He followed head to head next to Eva. The sun was beating down on his neck, he couldn't wait till sundown. He didn't notice, but the white of his right eye was turning a slight pink color. "Which direction are we traveling?" He was confused, tired, and definately hungry.
