<center>Pirates of the Caribbean: Running With The Tide

So, PD and I had this unique idea for a roleplay while discussing what Lord Cutler Beckett’s past might have been like and this is what we came up with. The roleplay takes place in London, during Cutler Beckett’s teenage years. We wondered what his friends would have been like, what kinds of mischief he might’ve gotten into, how strict his father was and the whole reason he decided to rid the seas of piracy forever.

*Note - Please state whether your character is for piracy [Jack’s friend] or against it [Beckett’s friend].

Try to keep your characters in the teenage range and fill out a bio similar to mine [at the bottom of the post].

Name: (Lady) Elaine Marie Beckett

Hair: Dark brown, kept in a bun

Eyes: Brown

Apparel: A very expensive light blue gown with many intricate patterns that was specially designed for her.

Personality: Elaine is very proper and polite, especially when meeting people associated with her husband’s job. Oftentimes she can seem not to care about anything even though they mean a lot to her, and yelling at her son has become somewhat of a hobby. She is not fond of Keyara at all and does not especially like her foster father and his son, Oliver.

Weapons: She doesn’t believe in weapons or violence, but often her words are very powerful enough.

Background/History: Born in London, she grew up and married Lord Beckett [senior] and the two had a son together named Cutler. She stays at home and takes care of the letters her husband receives.

Apparel: Normally Keyara is clad in Redcoat apparel, but when in disguise, a long tattered overcoat, old breeches and dirty boots. Sometimes she can be found in a gown, but it’s highly unlikely unless she’s taking a well deserved break from fighting or negotiating.

Personality: Keyara is very crafty and sly; she can get her own way with just a little persuasion and is very impatient, just like her sister. Sometimes she can hide her emotions from others, but usually she openly expresses her opinions and how she feels. In addition, Keyara absolutely hates discussing her past because she feels ashamed of it.

Weapons: A pistol [her weapon of choice] and a sword. She knows how to use a bayonet, due to her growing up to a foster father in the Navy.

Background/History: Keyara was born on July 6th in the Caribbean. Her mother, Maribel Degaldo-Pierce, was a maid and her father, Peter Pierce, was a servant. She grew up very poor and her family could not afford much. The living conditions of her family were horrible, and they didn't have a lot of money to support themselves.
At the age of 11, Keyara ran away from home, abandoning her sister, Varianna Pierce, and her long-gone parents. She was taken in by a foster father, Nathanial Cantrell, who was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Other Notes: *Keyara and Lord Cutler Beckett (of the East India Trading Company) have a love/hate relationship filled with cunning and betrayal.

Name: Christine Geddes (Pirate)

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Description: 5'6'' lanky, red head, tan but has freckles as her skin was a one time fair.

Weapons: Cutlass, dagger (kept in boot), and a pistol, she is relatively hopeless with all of them save the cutlass (she knows that she is to swing the sharp part at her attacker)

Christine is calm, collected, she is always there for her friends. She is quick to trust and slow to judge, she's been used a few times because of this, but she always bounces back. She is a follower by nature, but can step up to a leading position if pushed, but she is not generally fond of the limelight.


History: She was born in London and is an aquaintance of the Beckett family. Her father is a wealthy merchant that owns quite a few ships. She became a pirate by accident, and got off at Tortuga. She lived in a brothel under the ownership of Belinda for five years. She knows Jack through what she tends to call, "unfortunate circumstances of fate."

Occupation: Brothel owner

Appearance/History/Attitude: Belinda has curly mousey brown hair and dark green eyes. She is very independent and a shrewd buisness woman. The girls that live with her are like her children and she is well known for a putting bullets in men who try and mistreat them. She was born in Tortuga and inherited ownership of the brothel from her.

Apparel: Usually a ripped white shirt, opened around the chest because of the lack of buttons. If he feels like being half decent, then a sash as a belt and black trousers. Usually barefoot, but on occasion, will have boots.

Personality: Jack is very evasive about things and has a quirky personality that revolves around shiny things and rum. He is selfish at times, but is a lot cleverer than meets the eye. No one ever knows what's going on in the back of his head, but to be sure, it is probably something that will benefit him, not you. He will most likely frustrate you and surprise you with his randomness. He is quite popular with the girls and tends to have commitment problems.

Weapons: ... Whatever he can find. Though I think he has a dagger. [Jack: Dagger? What dagger? -whistles-] As I said, I have no idea what's going on in the back of that boy's head.

Background/History: He resides in Great Britain for most of the time, but is often wandering around. He is not yet a pirate, but has found a particular loving taste in rum. His father is still alive, but he ran away from that man long ago. His mother, however, is nowhere to be seen. Jack reckons that she is dead, but doesn't really dwell on this fact much. He has no stable home, at current, but will most likely make a home where he goes. He loves the beach, and can often be found there.

Other Notes: Beware. He might take something from you while you're not looking.
